Chapter 24
One Month Later In My Dreams“So what’s the progress so far?” Elizabeth asked me as I entered the choir room.
I shrugged. “I don’t know, and frankly I almost don’t care anymore.”
“Awww.” I looked at her, and she gave me a sheepish grin. “Sorry. Hopeless romantic here.”
“Yeah, I know.”
Suddenly from the other side there was a commotion near the choir folders, where Onew, Jonghyun, Minho, Key, and Taemin stood.
Elizabeth raised her eyebrows.
Jonghyun bounded over with Minho. “Wait, Sonya, is it you?”
“Huh?” I suddenly felt gleeful. Playing, huh. I loved games. Especially when no one else really knows that it’s a game.
Especially when I had allies to scheme with. Trust me. All the bullies, irrational friends, and obnoxious classmates never saw it coming. I could be a bad girl when I wanted to.
When I needed to. People are actually really nice. Even Mean Girls look like good girls when compared to what goes on in my mind.
Maybe it’s just me bragging my mouth off.
Anyway, Jonghyun’s smile faded. “What do you mean, huh?”
“What are you guys talking about?”
“Wait didn’t you send the flower?”
“Yeah…”
“Then it’s you!”
“What? It’s not me if I don’t know what you’re talking about!”
Jonghyun sighed. “Okay, so Onew got a note, and it has the exact same things as you put on the flower. How do you explain that?”
“I don’t know, probably a copycat.” The bell rang, and Elizabeth and I got up. “Got to go, Jonghyun, talk to you later.”
As soon as we were down the hall, Elizabeth burst out into laughter. “That was awesome Sonya! What an actress? I would have not been able to keep a straight face at all!”
“Haha, thank you, I try.” I was amazed. Lies had never come this easily before.
