Because I have declared war against my family and my sister, things have gotten worse. 

"Stop it Mrs. Kang! You're going to kill her if you keep beating her!" The maid yelled and tried to stop my mother. 

"I want her to die! Maybe then she will listen!" She yelled as she whipped me with the stick leaving bruises and red lines all over my body. Tears fell but I didn't scream in pain. It seemed like my body was already used to the beating. 

"Mom stop, people will find out if you leave too many bruises on her" Sohee interfered which made her mother stop.

"Young miss are you okay?!" The maid and the family chauffeur rushed to my aid. 

"You better keep that mouth shut or we'll kill you and leave your dead body somewhere no one will find." 

"Please stop," the two begged them. "Young miss is your daughter too!" 

"She's not our daughter nor is she your young miss. Stop calling her that! If I hear you two call her that one more time, I'll fire you both." My mother yelled. 

I had enough of them talking down to people just because they have the money to do so. I walked forward holding a tight fist, staggering a bit due to my slight injury but I had to face them head on if I wanted to survive this cruel life. I needed to protect myself. 

"I'm not your daughter so that means I can go and fight for my innocence right?!" I yelled out when I was merely a meter away from them. 

"What did you say?!" My father asked. 

"I was too young and didn't know any better, I trusted you two. Took the fall for my so called sister and you all dumped me to pick up the pieces!" I shouted as I stepped closer and got up to their faces.

"W-whose going to believe you? A criminal." My mother said taken aback at my outburst.

"I will take back what's mine and give back what's rightfully yours." 

"You ungrateful , after all the years we've raised you—" 

"Raised me?! You treated me like a slave! I won't let you get away with it " I said turning away to head out the door. "Starting today, you two are not my parents." I left leaving them struck in shock at how I raised my voice. I never raised my voice and took everything they gave me without a word but now its time for me to step up and defend myself.
