The family gathering was a mess, of course. 

San arrived with his hair sticking up wildly, his makeup smudged and his shirt on backwards, which all together screamed 'i just woke up!' Seonghwa wore painfully too-small shoes but refused to take them off out of embarrassment. Mingi and Yunho walked in staring into each other's eyes and promptly tripped and fell on the carpet. Wooyoung arrived half an hour late with bright red lipstick on and announced at the top of his lungs, "I have candy!" Hongjoong and Jongho, bless their hearts, were not a problem.

Yeosang found himself reaching into his bag every few minutes to check that the misteltoe was still there. He couldn't think when he'd have an opportunity to hang it. 

Until San suggested that Hongjoong and Seonghwa try hitting each other with cardboard swords while blindfolded. 

As they jumped and whacked at thin air, Yeosang flashed a thumbs-up sign and hung the misteltoe on the ceiling. San nudged Seonghwa into place under it and whispered instructions to Hongjoong which led him to stand under it as well. 

Wooyoung screamed, "Take the blindfolds off!" 

Seonghwa pulled his off and jumped at how close he and Hongjoong were standing. Hongjoong pulled his off and blushed. 

"Look at the ceiling," Mingi said wickedly, shaking with laughter. 

They looked up. 

They recognized the plant. 

Seonghwa's cheeks turned bright red. Hongjoong hid his face in his hands. 

"You know what misteltoe means?" San said gleefully. "It means you kiss!" 

"Yes, sunshine, I know what it means," Hongjoong said into his hands. 

He raised his head. "You know what?" 

Seonghwa turned even redder, if that was possible. 

Hongjoong stood on tiptoe and kissed Seonghwa lightly on the cheek. 

He smiled into the others' disappointed faces. "There." 

Seonghwa mumbled something. 

"What was that?" Hongjoong turned to face him again, and as soon as he did, Seonghwa kissed him. 

The room went wild. 

Wooyoung shouted and threw candy. Mingi and Yunho shouted and threw popcorn. San shouted and threw his shirt, which he was immediately forced back into by an embarrassed but proud Yeosang. Jongho stood in the corner, eyes huge, holding a crushed apple in one hand. 

And Hongjoong and Seonghwa kissed. The candy, popcorn and a shirt flying everywhere around the room, the sounds of Wooyoung, Mingi, Yunho and San shouting, and even the apple juice dripping onto the carpet seemed to be nonexistent to them. They only pulled away when Yeosang said in a slightly shaky voice, "We're still here, you know." 

Seonghwa turned red again. 

"Then get out," Hongjoong said sweetly. 

Wooyoung scrambled to pick up his candy, with San helping. Mingi & Yunho left without even bothering to clean up the popcorn. Yeosang grabbed Jongho and dragged him out of the room, apple juice dripping between his fingers.
