Secret.

Heejin’s eyes followed Hyunjin while the girl jogged around the soccer court while she sipped short drinks of her ice coffee next to Jiwoo and Jungeun, Things were back to normal between the med student and her roommate so she decided there was no better way of spending her free time between classes than watch Hyunjin’s practice since Heejin actually missed watching her play, not like she was going to let her know anyway. Heejin couldn’t help the childish smile that curled her lips when the older girls smiled at her widely for the fifth time since she arrived, she was sure Ryunjin would kick her out of the place if she noticed how much she actually was distracting the player. Jungeun laughed loudly making Heejin remember she wasn’t alone and as soon as she saw the two pair of eyes looking at her like she was the best joke on earth her cheeks turned bright red.

-You’re acting like a fifteen years old-Jungeun laughed pinching her friend’s cheek making her whine.

-I’m not-Heejin said pushing the hand away from her face turning once again her face to the court.

-You look like Jiwoo when Sooyoung…. Actually Sooyoung doesn’t need to do anything for Jiwoo for her to look like a fool-Jungeun teased making Jiwoo pinch her arm hard-Yah!

-Like you weren’t whipped yourself, you’re so annoying Jinsoul this… Jinsoul that… my baby baby Jinsoulie…-Jiwoo mocked with her loud pitch voice making Heejin laugh loudly at the childish fight.

-At least I don’t fake I’m straight-Jungeun attacked and it was time for Jiwoo to laugh at Heejin again.

-I’m not faking-The girl defended herself with almost a scream standing up- I like Boys.

-Well… that means that shouldn’t enjoy that too much then-Jungeun pointed at the court again with a gentle lift of her chin making Heejin turn around.

The ice coffee almost hits the floor when Heejin’s eyes landed once again on her roommate on the grass she swore the air got ticker when she gaze lowered to the now exposed abdomen of the girl wearing a sport bra and the team’s short while she ran behind the ball with a brat smile when Yeji wasn’t capable to reaching her even when her legs were longer. Jiwoo herself got distracted by the scene but her eyes on the taller player, Jungeun made a reminder to about it later right in front of Sooyoung just to make the things more interesting. Hyunjin almost laughed when she heard Yeji whine behind her to ask for a break since she lost a few practices due to ankles aches so she needed a little time to get back on her pace, the art student stopped running and turned around to meet her teammate with a smirk on her lips before putting her tongue out to mock the younger.

Hyunjin wasn’t too tired yet and she knew it was more because of Heejin watching her than because of her physical condition, she loved the sudden attention of the girl on her games specially when she didn’t knew Heejin was going to be there like that day. Ryunjin ran next to her so she passed the ball to the captain to continue the match, she enjoyed playing against Ryunjin since the both were practically on the same level with their skills. Ryunjin fastened her pace when she noticed how close the younger was getting making Hyunjin focus on her moves even more, she almost tripped when they met a few meters away from the goal were Rina was already waiting for the ball. Ryunjin prepared to shoot the ball seconds before Hyunjin stole it from her with a smile on her lips making the shoot herself, Rina missed the ball and Hyunjin couldn’t help the smirk on her lips when she turned to meet her captain’s eyes.

-I should start making that pretty girl come to every practice if you’re going to be like this-Ryunjin mocked and Hyunjin only lifted her shoulders.

-Can’t you just admit I am better than you?-Hyunjin teased putting her hands on her hips while she moving her head to a side.

-I’ll admit it when you get better, now you’re just a brat-Ryunjin laughed with her arms crossed. - Is that Heejin?

-Yes, that’s Jungeun and Jiwoo too-Hyunjin smiled widely at the girls once again meeting Heejin’s gaze on her.

-I heard she’s dating Lee Hansol-Ryunjin said and she didn’t miss how the smile dropped from the girl’s lips, she immediately regretted bringing up the boy.

Hyunjin felt her stomach ache every time she even heard the boy’s name next to Heejin’s despite it was starting to become more and more regular on the past few weeks. She hated to be around them but couldn’t help the need to keep herself close every time she had just in case, of course Hyunjin didn’t trust the boy so till’ she was sure he wasn’t like the other long list of Heejin’s exes she wouldn’t stop trying to push him away from her roommate. Heejin on the other hand didn’t seem to notice how it affected the older girl, how angry she gets when the boy cuts her words or doesn’t listen to her at all like she was just an accessory for him to show. Hansol didn’t have good intentions with Heejin and for Hyunjin it was too clear since the beginning.

-We’re having some new public today- Rina said with her eyes focus on somebody behind Hyunjin.

The last thing Hyunjin thought she would find standing meters away on the grass was a smiley Choi Yoojung and yet there she was as bright as usual standing next to Doyeon who wasn’t too hard of recognize since her face was a usual thing on the magazines. Yoojung waved at her as soon as her eyes spotted the player between the other girls on the court, Hyunjin didn’t miss how her eyes traveled around her body for a quick second before landing on her eyes making her laugh, that’s why she stayed on gym even when it got boring. A simple look was all she needed to made Ryunjin let the court and finish the practice a few minutes earlier after all Hyunjin didn’t need much practice but the captain wasn’t going to let her know that just yet. The three girl’s on the stands followed the player as she jogged to meet the other two next to the bench, Heejin suddenly was dead quiet with her eyes glued on her roommate as Hyunjin greeted the pair.

Yoojung seemed to be around way more than what Heejin liked since the little meeting on the bar, she didn’t needed any more time to notice the mutual attraction growing between them and how Hyunjin was trying her best to fix her hair into her ponytail just confirmed her thoughts once again. She knew Hyunjin like the palm of her own hand, every look she could give to Yoojung to get her Heejin knew it perfectly, every technique, every other trick the soccer player could bring to the table to make the shorter girl fall for her was written on Heejin’s memory from all those years for friendship and that was making it much more harder for her to ignore how often Hyunjin flirted with the shorter girl. Jungeun pulled her from the seat with a smirk on her face like she just had the most marvelous idea on her last 21 years of life as she made the med student walk down to the court to meet the others with Jiwoo following them.

-Jiwoo I could literally heard your laugh from down here- Hyunjin mocked as soon as she notice their presence a few steps away from them.

-That’s not true!-Jiwoo said in the usual loud tone making the soccer player laugh when her point was proofed.

-Hyunjin I don’t think you introduced me to your friends yet-Doyeon said as soon as her eyes landed on the loud art student next to Jungeun, Hyunjin thanked Sooyoung wasn’t around when she noticed the look Doyeon was giving Jiwoo.

  1. Jiwoo, the one with the big head is Jungeun and I think you remember Heejin. - Hyunjin said with a smile pointing at the girl’s one by one- Yoojung unnie was thinking about going out to pick up some food if you want to come with us.

-The more the merrier- Yoojung said with a wide smile.

Heejin felt she could scream when her eyes met the hazel ones on her face, Hyunjin has had girlfriends before but they never made such a great job annoying Heejin like Yoojung did. It was a constant mental game going between them and for the first time Heejin wasn’t sure she was going to be the one seating on the throne at the end of the match, she hated Yoojung for a good reason, she was her only strong rival. Hyunjin wasn’t a kid anymore, any of them were and that meant the game grow up too and not only Heejin knew this since Yoojung was nothing to aware of the new difficulties on the play court. Jungeun almost choke when Doyeon asked Jiwoo to seat in front with her and sent Yoojung to the back, not like the shorter girl was angry when she got to seat right next to Hyunjin who didn’t waste any time to kiss her cheek softly a few time on the short drive.

The soccer player was naturally clingy but Jungeun never saw her be so delicate with other than Heejin and the med student was aware of it too. Despite the usual clumsiness Hyunjin knew how to have her ways with a girl without making much of an effort and Yoojung wasn’t putting too much resistance to her moves when the taller girl wrapped her arm around her shoulders as soon as they left the car with the group around them. Not having to fake things or to hide her feelings was one of the things Hyunjin liked about being around Yoojung, both of them knew they liked each other but nobody was pushing or pulling to make things happened faster than what it should, that was a whole new dynamic for Hyunjin since the closest thing she’s had as a relationship on the pass two years was with Heejin and the girl couldn’t even kiss her on the lips.

-Are you okay?- Hyunjin asked softly turning her head to a side to meet an usually quiet Heejin taking short sips of her drink.

-Yes, it’s just a headache don’t worry-Heejin smiled at the girl for a second before turning her attention once again to her phone, Hyunjin wasn’t happy at all when her eyes followed the gaze to the screen to find Hansol’s name on the top of the texts.

-Phone makes it worse-Hyunjin said carefully taking the phone away from Heejin’s hands and pushing it into the pocket of her jeans, she noticed how Heejin was ready to complain so before she got attacked she leaned to kiss the girl’s temple softly- Try talking to us please.

-I see not much has changed between you two- Doyeon teased taking a bite of her cake with a smile on her face.

-There’s no need of changing- Heejin said smiling back when she realized Hyunjin’s eyes were still on her like she could notice the little lie about the headache.

-Never had trouble with your boyfriends because of Hyunjin? - Yoojung asked as she cut a piece of her toast to put it into Hyunjin’s mouth.

-I keep them on the right line- Hyunjin joked winking her eyes at the shorter girl before taking the bread without hesitation.

-Good to know since Heejin looks to seconds away from cutting open Yoojung right in front of us- Doyeon left out like it was the most common thing to say.

Jungeun left out a loud laugh as she nobbled in agree with the other girl while Hyunjin choked with her food and Heejin’s face turned so red that Jiwoo swore all the blood on her body was starting to accumulate on her cheeks. Jungeun was happy to know that if Yoojung was around at least she could count with Doyeon to tease them as she counted with Sooyoung too, she sure was bold but she never saw somebody be that direct as Doyeon just were and that was enough to instantly make her like the taller but she was sure if she kept looking at Jiwoo like that she wasn’t going to be around for too long because of Sooyoung. The ride back to the dorm was even worse of Heejin than the whole little meal since she could clearly see Yoojung’s hand on Hyunjin’s thigh as the shorter drove, Jiwoo tried her best to distract her but it was pointless her eyes couldn’t help but land on the soft moves of the thumb on her roommate’s leg.

-We actually came because I wanted to let you know we’re making a party for Doyeon’s birthday on my place tomorrow, if you want to come- Yoojung said as the car made its way into the campus.

-Bring your friends- The taller was quick to add with a smile.

-You have a history exam on Friday-Heejin remained the girl seating on the front seat who only gave her a quick look.

-I already studied for It- Hyunjin said with a smile as she looked back to Yoojung who parked the car in front of their dorm- We’ll be there unnie, thanks for the meal- The soccer player assured as she leaned to kiss the girl’s cheek as a goodbye.

Hyunjin knew she was in trouble the second she tried to reach for Heejin’s hand on the hallway and the younger pushed her hand into the pockets of her coat, she knew the reason behind the sudden change of mood but she didn’t think she actually deserved to be punish for going around with Yoojung when she had to take Hansol’s presence almost every day of the week but she let the girl be. With time you can learn to know when it was the right moment to push or let go and Hyunjin learned that when Heejin was angry it was better not to push her into anything. Heejin was usually a calm person who thought before speaking maybe too often but as soon as the anger reached her there was no fast way of calming her down again, she usually ran to Hyunjin as soon as she got upset so when her source of comfort was the reason behind her bad mood the game changed drastically.

Low music filled the shared room after hours of Hyunjin trying to get more than a few sounds as an answer from Heejin, it was starting to annoy her but she knew it was way better than starting an argue between both of them. From her place on the desk surrounded by her paints and brushes she could hear Heejin whispering for herself the large list of things that formed the human tissues as she walked from a side of the room to the other behind Hyunjin’s back. It was a regular scenario for both of them, the difference that night was that Hyunjin usually got up to see if the med student wasn’t too stressed or to hand her something to eat but then she was just seating like Heejin wasn’t there at all and the younger didn’t like that not even a bit. Between the study and Yoojung’s brat smile on her mind she soon had to leave the textbook to a side when a headache made her temples almost beat.

-Can you hand me an aspirin, please? - Heejin asked as she seated on the couch with her eyes shut close and her hand slowly massaging her forehead.

That was enough to make Hyunjin drop the brush and turn around with a concerned face, she whipped the little paint marks on her hands with a paper towel before standing up to get the pill in silence. Heejin didn’t say anything with a soft thanks when the soccer player seated next to her on the couch with a glass of water and the pill on her hands, Hyunjin wasn’t sure if her usual behavior was welcomed so she decided she’d keep her hands to herself despite the need of wrapping her arms around the girl in pain like she usually did. They both were used to that since Heejin was still learning how to deal with the amount of stress she had to face, Hyunjin had seen her cry over her textbooks at the middle of the night or skit her foods because she had nauseas before any exam she had that day.

-I think it’s better if you lay down for a moment- Hyunjin said with her hand rubbing small circles on the girl’s back.

-I don’t want to lay down-Heejin snort and Hyunjin took her hand away to place it on her lap as soon as she notice the annoyed tone on her voice.

-Stop acting like a kid- Hyunjin said with her brows furrowed, she didn’t knew from where came out the bravery to wrap her arms around Heejin who froze at the sudden gesture.

Before Heejin could complain Hyunjin made her stand up and walk the shorts steps to her bed before carefully pushing her to make her seat on the edge of the mattress, she looked so worried that the med student was almost sorry for being so mad at her the whole afternoon and the few hours into the night. Hyunjin got her own blanket from the top bunk and place it around Heejin’s shoulder like it was enough to keep the stress away from her, when she leaned to make sure the blanket covered her properly the last thing she expected was the warm hand that landed carefully on her cheek as the thumb massaged her jaw like it was the most delicate piece of art in a museum. Hyunjin swore her face was boiling when she realized how close to Heejin’s face she actually was, she felt the air got thicker when their eyes met with no other sound but the soft music still playing from Hyunjin’s phone on the desk.

-Sorry for treating you like this today-Heejin whispered with her eyes dancing around the blushed face before landing on the other girl’s lips.

Heejin always wanted to know how would it feel to have those lips over her owns, she felt her heartbeat rise at the idea of kissing Hyunjin right there in the middle of their room where nobody could break their little moment in time and the world was starting to disappear on her mind as soon as the soft smell of Hyunjin’s perfume caught her senses. The soccer player thought that if her heart kept like that for any longer even Heejin would be able to hear it perfectly, she had to take a deep breath through her nose when she notice the tip of Heejin’s tongue wet her lower lip. Her hands gripped the blanket over Heejin’s shoulder like it was her last trace of control but when Heejin leaned just a few inches she was ready to risk it all after all those years of wait until a knock on the door made both of them jump on their places. Hyunjin groaned when the base of the top bunk hit the back of her head making her lose her balance and fall into the ground with a pout on her lips, if it didn’t hurt that bad she would probably be fighting the person on the other side of the door in that exact second.

Heejin felt she could pass out as her legs leaded her to the door that was knocked again this time louder, she notice how much her hands were shaking when she reached the key to unlock the door and meet no other than Hansol on the hallway with a beer on his hand as he talked to another guy that Heejin didn’t thought she knew. The boy leaned to kiss her and she almost gag at the taste of alcohol and the smell of smoke that came out of his jacket, that wasn’t the kiss she was so ready to take a few seconds away and hiding her disappointment was starting to be hard after she notice how drunk they boy in front of her was.

-Hey baby-Hansol smiled wrapping his arm around Heejin’s shoulder to practically pull her out of the room.- I was thinking that maybe you could come home with me tonight and… well you know.

-You’re drunk- Heejin said softly trying to free herself from the boy’s grip.

-It was just a couple of beers don’t be so dramatic- Hansol said leaned to kiss the girl again just to get rejected when Heejin turned her face to a side making his lips land on her cheek.

-I can’t tonight but keep having fun- the girl forced a smile as her eyes met the dark gaze on Hyunjin’s eyes as she stood against the doorframe with her arms crossed on her chest following the movements carefully.

-Come on baby don’t be so boring- Hansol tried again pushing the girl harder against his chest.

-She said no twice already, that’s too much times- Hyunjin said taking a step further, Heejin tensed when she noticed how serious the soccer player sounded, she took the sudden distraction as her chance to get away from the boy and stand behind her friend. - You can leave now- she held herself from moving forwards the boy when she felt Heejin’s arm grab her waist to keep her still.

-This is what I talked you about Doyoung, the idiot thinks she owns my girl- Hansol spitted giving his beer to the boy standing behind him.

Hansol took a step forward and Heejin could feel the girl between her arms tense up at the sudden move, Hyunjin lifted her chin up like that could erase the clear height difference between both of them, she wasn’t not even a bit scared and if the boy wanted to fight she was nothing to ready to punch him. Heejin stood between both of them with one on her hands over Hyunjin’s chest feeling the heart under her palm beat fast because of the tension, she didn’t actually cared to much about how could Hansol get hurt because of the girl as much as she cared about how bad could Hansol hurt Hyunjin without much effort. The med student turned around to meet Hansol’s eyes with a faked smile knowing the boy would never notice the difference of it without moving her hand from Hyunjin’s front.

-Please leave oppa- Heejin asked softly as Hyunjin’s hand wrapped around her wrist firmly but soft enough not to hurt her.

-Since you ask so nicely princess-Hansol said leaning once again to kiss the girl on the lips, as soon as his tongue touched Heejin’s lower lip Hyunjin pulled the girl’s arm to hold her against her chest.

-Goodbye idiot- Hyunjin spitted before dragging herself and Heejin to the inside of their room once again.

A loud bang was all Hansol could hear when the door closed right in front of his face as Hyunjin locked it on the other side, Heejin stood there on her back in silence, it would be a lie to say she wasn’t a least a little embarrassed for the behavior of her boyfriend but it was nothing new for Hyunjin to deal with after all those years and her past relationships. Heejin heard how her roommate took a deep breath as she leaned her head against the wood of the door in an attempt to calm herself down and not go out and kick the boy right in the face, she couldn’t understand why Heejin would allow somebody treat her like that when she could get anybody she wanted to. Hyunjin wasn’t sure if she could be the one for Heejin, but what she did know is that if she kept getting into those kind of relationships nobody would try as hard as her to treat her properly.

Hyunjin turned around to meet a quiet Heejin massaging her temples and couldn’t help the soft smile that reached her lips, the soccer player took a step closer just to let her arms wrap around the med student as she kissed the top of girl’s head a few times. Heejin didn’t waste a second to hold her back tighter as she could like Hyunjin could erase the bitter moment from her memory, she allowed herself to enjoy the warm feeling of the thin body against her own.

-I think I’ll need an aspirin too-Hyunjin joked making both of them laugh.

Heejin wasn’t surprised when Hyunjin interrupted her sleep just to get into her bed next to her that night or when the girl insisted on dropping her on her first class before leaving to her own, the only thing she wasn’t expecting was the sudden text she got about not going back home to get ready for Yoojung’s party that afternoon. Heejin knew she was being selfish and even a little bit childish about the sudden relationship Hyunjin was starting to form after the long time she spent without a girlfriend but she couldn’t help the bitter taste the idea of Hyunjin with another person gave her, Jungeun and Jiwoo tried their best to distracted her for the rest of the day before Jinsoul and Sooyoung arrived but soon enough they notice it was pointless to try making the girl forget about her bad mood.

The cloth was starting to create a mess over Yoojung’s bed around Hyunjin who was laying over the mattress with a wide smile on her lips as she helped the shorter to pick an outfit for the party in a few hours, she was already dressed up since she didn’t need to much time to pick her cloths so wearing a pair of skinny jeans and a simple top under her old leather jacket she took short sips of the cold beer Yoojung offered her as soon as she arrived to her apartment. Hyunjin liked the place, it wasn’t too big or too pretentious but it still somehow looked expensive, Yoojung’s room was simple with art hanging on her white walls around the dark wood furniture that held her books and her television around the bed that was too big for somebody who lived alone. The whole apartment had Yoojung’s light aura and Hyunjin didn’t need too much time to feel comfortable in it, it was a nice thing to be in such a quiet place where she didn’t feel the need to punch Heejin’s stupid boyfriend after the little last night drama.

-I think this is the one- Yoojung said from her closet and Hyunjin could hear the smile on her voice.

-Let me see then- Hyunjin said smiling leaving the empty can on the floor.

-What do you think? - Yoojung asked as she walked to be under Hyunjin’s deep gaze.

Hyunjin smile widen while her eyes danced over the older girl’s body covered by a short yellow dress, the short hair was slightly curled making her look different from the usual but in a good way. Yoojung’s smile widen as soon as the soccer player stood up to meet her in the middle of the room taking her hand to make her spin as she gave a the dress a better that ended up landing on the girl’s exposed legs, both of them were aware about the not so innocent attraction floating around them, they always had chemistry and wasn’t the exception. Hyunjin nobbled as her hands slowly caressed the girl’s shoulders that the dress couldn’t cover, Yoojung noticed how the smile that moments ago was innocent hided something else when the mock on the younger’s face changed just a little bit.

-Glad to see you like it-Yoojung whispered allowing her hand to reach Hyunjin’s exposed abdomen.

-I’m sure you already knew I’d like it the second you put it on-Hyunjin said and Yoojung smiled at the sudden change on tone- Or am I wrong?

-You’re not, actually- Yoojung admitted as she pulled the soccer player’s hand to delete the distance between her bodies, she had to lift her chin to meet Hyunjin’s else that seemed to shine as a mock to her. - I wanted to look pretty for you.

-You don’t need to try too hard to make that-Hyunjin said softly fixing the girl’s bang- I really like you, did you know that?

-Good to know since I like you too- The shorter giggled letting her fingers trace a patter on Hyunjin’s skin.

Hyunjin laughed in pure joy with her eyes on the girl’s face that seemed just as happy as her about the sudden confession, she couldn’t hide her surprise when Yoojung leaned to make their lips meet softly almost in a childish kiss that wasn’t making much of a good job hiding the shy side of the shorter. Hyunjin’s hands reached her cheeks to cup her face making her stay against her body as she capture Yoojung’s lower lip in between her owns, she allowed herself to enjoy the delicate smell of perfume coming from her kisser’s body and the tickles on her stomach when Yoojung gasped against with her hands caressing her neck slowly. The door knocked and Hyunjin swore she could have cried the second she separated from the soft pair of lip that quickly turned into a pout at the sudden miss of sensation, she leaned to give her a soft peck without being capable to hold her smile as she did.

-I think you have early guests- Hyunjin whispered inches away from Yoojung’s face whose eyes were still close.

-We can cancel the party-Yoojung said and even when it sounded like a jock for Hyunjin she was actually being serious, she leaned to get another soft peck from the girl- Doyeon’s can take her friends to her place- her voice became a whisper before kissing the soccer player or a little longer this time- Or to a hotel…

-Come on’ it’s rude to make people wait- Hyunjin laughed as she intertwined her fingers with Yoojung’s.

Yoojung let her lead them across the hallway without holding her complains back as she whined and pouted for the girl who only gave her a laugh as an answer until the shorter pulled her once again into a soft kiss in the middle of the living room, one of the many thing Yoojung always liked about Hyunjin was how delicate the girl was around her, how her soft hands touched her body like it was the mostly fragile thing on earth until their tongues touched making her groan loudly against the girl. Another loud bang made them jump on their spot as Hyunjin took a deep breath before winking at Yoojung making her notice how dark her hazel eyes turned because of the contact, the soccer player wasn’t too happy about the interruption but there wasn’t much they could do about it so instead of wasting more time she walked to the door with a silly smile on her face that only widen when she met Sooyoung’s eyes on the other side of the doorframe.

-He… Are we interrupting something? - Sooyoung asked lifting her brow with a smile.

-Why would you say that? - Hyunjin said immediately as she tried to calm down.

-Nothing- Jinsoul laughed as she got inside the apartment with Jungeun following her.

-Hey bunny- Hyunjin smiled at the girl who only looked at her for a quick second before huffing and follow Jinsoul letting her frozen in her spot on the door in front of Sooyoung and Jiwoo.- Did I…

-There’s lipstick on your face kid- Sooyoung explained letting out a laugh as Jiwoo chuckled next to her.

Sooyoung tapped Hyunjin’s cheek twice as she saw who the pure horror filled the girl’s face before she turned around to meet Heejin buried between Jinsoul and Jungeun like the could make a barrier to keep Hyunjin outside even when she was actually sure she wanted her away. It only took a glare for Hyunjin to realize, she was in trouble again.
