Kang Hara was cleaning up her room and packing her necessities into various marked boxes. She sighed when she realized that she probably needed more boxes based on the amount of things in her room. It was a quaint day and she stretched her tired limbs while trying to stifle a yawn. She scratched her neck while rubbing her eyes, trying to force the sleep from them.  She turned to her pink clock and her eyes widened at the time.   ". Has it been that long already?" She cussed under her breath.   She really did get carried away. Her mom was right when she warned her this morning, telling her that she would probably be stuck in her room the whole day cleaning out her things.   She was about to return to her task of packing everything up when her phone beeped. She groaned at the ringtone. It was work. That much was obvious. She sighed and pushed aside an old diary, a stuffed toy and a notebook to get to her phone.   She sighed in relief when she managed to fish it out and typed in the passcode before the screen lit up, showing the homescreen.   1 unread message(s)   She opened the text and sure enough, it was her secretary, telling her to hurry up and get to the company since it was the big day.   What big day?   She turned to her B.A.P calendar and grunted in annoyance. There, marked on the calendar using a red Sharpie was the day she dreaded the most. Okay, the day just officially got worse. That big day. The big day. It was her last day on her job before she would be deemed jobless.    She sighed before carding her fingers through her black locks. She let out a string of curses before glaring at the phone like it was the scum of the Earth. Based on what just happened, it might as well be. In the end, she had two options. She could continue cleaning out her room or she could jump in her Ferrari right now and face the music- one ugly music but still.   Thinking it'd be better to just get it over and done with, she grabbed her trench coat and shrugged it on. She gave her outfit a once over; a pair of black skinny jeans, a stripped tee beneath her army-green trench coat and to top it of, she grabbed her black heels and Coach bag.   She sighed. It'll do, she guessed. It wasn't like she was going to be anywhere fancy- unless you count loosing your job 'fancy'.   Grabbing the door handle, she turned around and looked at her room. It was hazardous. Boxes were askew, some were labelled and some were not. Marker pens out of the pencil holder from writing on the boxes. The mounds of books stacked up beside her Queen-sized bed. The music sheets strewn across her table due to those nights she stayed up trying to come up with song lyrics for her company band's new single. She was a composer and the owner of Kang Entertainment company.   It is a shock for everyone once they found out that the 22-year-old was the legitimate owner of a multi-million dollar company.  But it wasn't easy.   She had to inherit the company rather early since her father decided to retire from the entertainment business. At first he planned on selling the company but after realizing his daughter had a natural flair for entertainment, he decided to hand it over to her. So, by the age of fifteen her father decided to show her the ropes. She was way too young in her opinion. She missed a few outings with her friends because of that. To be completely honest with herself, she knew it wasn't her father's plan to give up the company to her a month after she turned twenty but seeing her potential and strategic mindset, he thought, "Why wait?".   A normal fifteen-year-old would have been out having fun, their only worries would be their studies or what outfit to wear on the next date. Maybe even putting pranks on their friends only to get that favour returned the next morning. Well for Hara, she had to learn how to run an Entertainment company. She guessed it was okay since her group of friends weren't so ordinary too- Daeun has been attending professional photography classes and Minhee was trained since the day she was born to be Young Master Kim, considering her family's reputation in the business world.   Learning the said ropes wasn't a piece of cake either. She originally didn't want to inherit the whole company. She was just planning on becoming a composer or a dance instructor instead. Never did she expect to inherit everything- from the bands to their reality shows and endless musicals. But looking back now, maybe she should've guessed it. She was the eldest daughter of the Kang's anyway.   She remembered those first few days. She wanted to quit a lot of times. Be it either a stupid scandal courtesy of a rookie group that did not understand the meaning of 'show biz' or the lack of faith from her own employees. She didn't blame them though. Who in their right mind would hand over a multi-million dollar company over to a 20-year-old anyway? Apparently, her optimistic father.   She had to thank him though, in many ways, her already strategic mindset and her ability to see through her opponents were sharpened by her father. It was no secret, she got that side of her from her father. It helped her because anyone that tried to pull something up with her group of friends- Crystals, they called themselves, were immediately going to regret it. She was more of a stratergic person, always planning ahead and easily rule out the ones that were just pretending to be nice to them. The group was an odd mix but anyone could see if they're friends with them, they would have a huge leverage in their life. Secured jobs and bright futures were what these girls radiated.   But unknown to everyone, each had a different mindset with terrifiying qualities of their own. Hara, for instance, her ability to intimidate her opponents while Soomin destroyed them to ashes. Gabyeol has a cute face and acts clueless but she's the center of the group, always digging out information from people. Daeun was scary enough but one thing was for sure, mess with her or her friends and it'll be the last thing they do. Minhee had an even worse leverage- with what all of Korea's richest and eligable bachelors wanting to marry her, a snap of her fingers and they'd get the job done. Jikyeon is the only innocent one but don't be easily fooled by her cute exterior, she knows how to be manipulative to get things to go her way. Put all six of them together and you get a group of misfits that control the school.   It felt bittersweet though as she felt the tears prickling her eyes. She felt like she failed him, that she was failing her father who thought her everything she knew. Her company was hitting bankruptcy and she couldn't help feeling it was her fault. It was because of a recent tragedy; one of their rookie groups thought it was appropriate to strip in front of millions of fans during a live showcase. It probably wouldn't amount to anything- if it was a male. Needless to say, stocks dropped and the company was taking hits and criticism from the media. The whole thing was still somewhat in her control but after that scandal of her (of all people) supposedly dating one of the members of Exo (it infuriated her really, she was close to all of the members) broke out, was when things really did went out of control.    In the end, everything was a mess and naturally, enemies stepped in. She was too proud to surrender to their demands though. Even though they were trying their best to blackmail her and even offered to buy the company from her in order to 'help' her losses. She had a feeling they were the ones that fed the media about that stupid Exo scandal. (She was also being targeted by SM entertainment because of that too- as if the media wasn't enough, now one of the biggest influential entertainment companies in the whole nation.)   There was no way in hell she would step down though. The day she hands over the company is the day she dies.   So, in return, she was handling with a bankruptcy on her hands. It was messy but a thousand times better than having to see their smug satisfied looks when she hands over the company.   It was never happening though.   She shook her head, trying to will the sad thoughts away. She turned her attention away to a framed picture placed on her dresser. It was of the six of them, the whole Crystals family. She was holding a bouquet of roses and her face was covered in cream. Her friends were hugging her and they all posed for the camera. Gabyeol making a 'V' sign, Jikyeon hugging her 'oppa', Minhee crouching in front of her and the bickering 'parents' at the side. A soft smile played on her pink lips when she recalled that day. It was her birthday. She closed her eyes and remembered it like it was yesterday.   "Guys! She's coming! Positions!" Jikyeon yelled at the whole classroom.   Balloons decorated the classroom and there was already a small mound of presents on the teachers' desk. The banner was hanging from the ceiling. It read, 'Happy Birthday, Hara! We love you!' The students were getting into their positions, firecrackers in their hands.    "Why do we have to do this for her anyway?" Hyunjin wrapped an arm around Daeun's waist. He stiffled a yawn and rubbed his eyes tiredly. Daeun flailed in his grasp, trying to get away from his. Obviously, PDA wasn't something she liked or deemed okay. After several seconds of a fruitless effort,, she gave up but was quick to send him a mean glare while crossing her arms in front of her.   "Because she never had a birthday party before. Not even with her family. So, it's the least we could do."    He turned around and saw Soomin rolling her eyes at him while crossing her arms. She didn't trust him one bit but she kept it inside. There was just something off about the boy. Not that she would ever tell Daeun. She only confided in Hara when it came to the things like this.   He grinned at Soomin and tightened his grip on Daeun's waist while being completely oblivious of the blush that adorned his girlfriend's cheeks. Soomin narrowed her eyes at him, flipped her hair and turned away- only to bump into a chest. She stumbled a little and was caught by none other than Doojoon.    "Soominnie, be careful. I might just accidentally hurt you one of these days." He grinned down at the said girl in his arms. Soomin felt heat rising to her cheeks and her reflex kicked in. He felt a sudden push and fell down, feeling quite dumbfounded. He looked up to see Soomin grinning down at him, hands on her hips.   "Watch it. I think you're the one who's going to get hurt."   She skipped to the other side of the classroom while he dusted off his slacks, throwing her an accusing glare. The sound of someone's throat being cleared made him turn to his right and looked down at Minhee who looked annoyed.   "Seriously, why are you even here Doojoon? Shouldn't you be, I don't know, at football practice?" Minhee cocked an eyebrow at him. The senior never seemed understand the term 'responsibility'.   "That's Doojoon oppa to you. I heard you guys were having a party and you didn't invite me."   There was a resounding, "That's the point, genius!" from Soomin that managed to make the boy pout. Minhee rolled her eyes at the two idiots friends.   "Guys, come on, Gabyeol's going to show up with oppa soon. Behave." Jikyeon warned them. "Yeah. My girlfriend is going to come anytime soon so please Lord help me, get into your positions.." Junhyung nearly shouted at them.   He was pacing back and forth in the classroom looking very agitated. Several looks were thrown to Jikyeon obviously asking her what was his problem.   "He's worried Hara won't like the present he got her." She shrugged.
