Requested Week Off

Like Fall, I Fall

Having just come back from a meeting the sight of Jimin stopping by Hoseok's desk wasn't new. Despite how much the two got in trouble for conversing it had yet to stop them. As the two spoke he remained silent, his steps even as he continued on his way. While a part of him wanted to respect the two he couldn't help but feel curious. At Jimin's last sentence to Hoseok's he his head to the side, the words only making him want to know even more, "I'll see you when I come back to work. Take care Hobi-hyung."

Grey eyes narrowed Yoongi kept a neutral expression when blue eyes peered his way. At the bright smile and farewell, he nods. His hands clenching a little tightly onto the documents in his hold. Eyes trailing after Yoongi doesn't know whether or not to approach Jimin and ask him if everything was alright. While usually keeping out of his friend's personal business the change in behavior from his dongsaeng had him conflicted. While a part of him knew it was due to his father's behavior he could tell that something else was weighing heavily on his shoulders. It was rare for Jimin to seek comfort in others and Yoongi worried that one day it might become too much for the younger male to handle when all the emotions he kept bottled up came bursting out. Turning around to take a glace at Hoseok his gaze softens when he sees the younger peering at their friend who had just run towards the elevator. Sighing Yoongi looks away when brown eyes turn to look his way. Making his way to his office he leaves his door open. Sitting down in his chair he moves the approved proposals aside while beginning to organize the plans for the latest project. Raising his gaze Yoongi doesn't utter a word as his eyes land on the wide grin aimed his way. Waving for Hoseok to come in Yoongi doesn't tell him to leave the door open when it's closed shut.

Despite what many believed Yoongi liked having Hoseok around. While there were many reasons that he could give to his fellow co-workers about why he had asked for Hoseok as an assistant he kept mostly to himself. His only reply that Hoseok was a really good worker all he would give away. But in truth, Hoseok's wide smile and bright personality lifted his mood more often than not. That no matter how much he wanted to deny it he liked his company. So when Hoseok takes his usual spot before him, he doesn't miss a beat when he subtly asks, "Yes, Hoseok-ah."

At the exaggerated hum, his lips twitch. The younger male's movements catching his attention slightly as he touches a few of the objects placed around his desk.

"Why do you think Jimin's taking a week off?"

Eyes peering at Yoongi he smiles wide. Leaning forward Hoseok can't help but glance over the white-haired male. Seeing the bags under his eyes he bites his lip both in worry and hesitation. It's only when his hyung answers that he wonders if he'd agree to go either way.

"He probably wants a break. We've been telling him to take one for a while now."

Nodding Hoseok frowns as Yoongi continues to write. Eyes staring determinedly at his best friend, he straightens his shoulders before asking, "Yoongi-hyung, do you think we should take a break too?"

Raising a brow at Hoseok, Yoongi barley glances at him before writing out a few dimensions along the side of the sheet. His voice neutral but his mind wondering what the younger wanted. "You can if you want."

Flushing Hoseok's voice cracks, "No! I--I mean the both of us. We can go somewhere...together."

Pausing Yoongi, slowly lowers his pen as he glances up. When his eyes don't meet light brown, he lets out a sigh one that he immediately notices Hoseok has taken his reply the wrong way. Smiling at the slumped shoulders he resists the urge to , as he once more picks up his pen. While he liked making Hoseok squirm he didn't want to right now. At least not when they had been staying late for so many days this month catching up on work. Starting right where he left off Yoongi's reply is soft, "As long as you plan everything out I won't have a problem with it."

Eyes brightening Hoseok's reply is hard to understand as he rushes out the door. As he takes a seat at his desk just outside of Yoongi's office Hoseok forgets about the work that needed to be done as he begins to write out ideas about what they could do.

Eyes trailing fondly after the black haired male, Yoongi for once doesn't mind having to stay late. The smile gracing his lips softening his features and the flutter in his heart once more starting.

The days at work before the weekend were the same. Jimin would get up early, take his backpack full of contracts and proposals in one hand while the other held a cup of hot coffee. Throughout work, he'd meet with clients and at times would spend a few minutes talking with his assistant before sending him off to run an errand. Just like always his father would call for him just before the end of the day and like each time he would find himself dreading it. Sitting in the desk his father had placed for him they would speak every now and then as they worked. The silence at the beginning when he worked under his father had been bothersome but now, now he longed for it.

Like every other time, the television would be on, the news playing like every other time. The topic of the Hybrids persistent and his father's dislike for them apparent. Biting his lower lip Jimin couldn't help but wonder each time what his father would think about him having Taehyung. The questions if he would be upset, angry or disgusted more then not often on his mind. The next plaguing question would be whether or not his father would threaten to take away the company he would one day inherit when his time to retire would eventually come. Yet unlike all the other questions running around his mind, the next one had his heart clenching, Would my father try to make me get rid of Taehyung?

As much as he wanted to know why his father disliked the hybrids so much he never asked. He feared his father's reaction, the Park's were known in the eyes of the public as stoic, expressionless, emotionless. But when in private the flare of their temper was something to fear.

Like every day Jimin remained silent, his shoulders stiff and his mind running wild at the thought of his father forcing him to get rid of Taehyung. As the days continued to go by shortly after he had placed the order for the new furniture the notification that they would arrive on Friday around elven in the afternoon with the latest being four in the evening had him feeling relieved. The idea of Taehyung sleeping on the couch in the living room didn't sit well with him, especially when he learned that the hybrid would sleep on the ground between the two couches instead. While Jimin was happy he was also conflicted. Every day that he arrived back to the penthouse, the container full of prepared food that greeted him had him worrying more and more about his hybrid. Every time he would ask the red-orange fox, the other refused to meet his eyes the small shrug his only answer. The lack of response concerning. Which only frustrated him more, when he began to realize that he would have to find answers soon about who had owned Taehyung before. This type of behavior wasn't normal, it showed exactly how Taehyung was treated and how he thought of himself. More often then not during the night, Jimin shed a few tears as he wondered what exactly Taehyung had gone through.

When Friday came, Jimin felt excited. Despite not being able to learn anything from the workers at the Hybrid store about who had owned Taehyung he decided that it would take time to get the answers he wanted. If he had to he'd hire an investigator in secret to find out exactly who had owned Taehyung and what had occurred, along with gathering information about those who worked at the shelter. It would also take time to heal all the past wounds inflicted and build a relationship with the male now in his care.

Having showered and dressed he checked the time on the clock before fixing his hair quickly. Making his way slowly into the living room Jimin stood in front of the small gap between the two couches. Leaning over the leather couch his eyes landed on Taehyung curled into himself. The sight eliciting a smile to form along his lips. Eyes softening he lets himself take a better look at Taehyung who had his arms wrapped around a pillow and the blanket he had given him the night before tangled between his legs. Letting out a sigh, Jimin remained silent as he stared. While a part of him felt like he was intruding, another part of him didn't want to look away. The soft, serene face much more unguarded as the younger slept than when he was awake and defensive.

Seeing the red fluffy ears hidden among tangled red locks Jimin can't help but reach for them. His hand itching to know if they felt as soft as they looked and his mind needing an answer to the desire coursing through his veins. Just as the tips of his fingers brush against the black tip of red ears Taehyung is snarling. Flinching back Jimin's eyes widened as Taehyung presses himself against the wall. The once whole pillowed torn in half and the blanket flying through the air. Heart pounding Jimin can't help but take in Taehyung. The sight of his sleepy green eyes slit, his ears flickering with each sound outside on the street, his canines bared, and a small bark coming from the back of his throat loud before he hears a sort of high whine all Jimin can focus on as he remains silent. Heart pounding as he takes in his fox hybrid his hands slightly tremble.

Seeing Taehyung's tail puffed up Jimin raises his hands slowly. His words soft when he realizes Taehyung was scared, "Taehyung...h-hey I'm sorry."

'. . , this isn't good.'

Cursing himself for not remembering that Taehyung was sensitive to someone touching him Jimin whispers, "T-Taehyung. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you."

When he doesn't hear a response he doesn't move. Thinking back about what he had been reading while at work Jimin his lower lip, his blue eyes wide as he watches Taehyung curl into himself again once he deems Jimin wasn't going to hurt him. Slit dilated eyes going back to light green. It's only when Taehyung is no longer growling or agitated that Jimin moves to takes a seat on one of the couches. Folding his arms on the couch he peers down at Taehyung his fingers dig into his arms. Immediately when his eyes land on Taehyung the bruises along his neck while fading in color had him swallowing. At the memory of the day he bought Taehyung he shivers. The tears, the small whimpers, and the curses along with the sound of a chain being pulled all making him feel an emotion he can't name.

Seeing his owner shiver slightly Taehyung slowly lifts himself until the blanket is no longer beneath him. Clutching onto the fabric he slowly sits up. Extending out the blanket he lowers his eyes to the ground. Ashamed for having growled at the blonde, his lower lip juts out before he's stiffening. Pressing himself closer to the wall, he squeezes his eyes shut the more Jimin invades his space. As the scent of vanilla teases his nose, he feels the tension in his shoulders slowly rolling away. Letting go of the blanket Taehyung's surprised when it's placed on his shoulders. Peering up into dark blue eyes his breath catches, tail curling around himself he feels himself flush. Looking away the bright laugh Taehyung hears has his ears twitching.

"I'm sorry for scaring you, Taehyung."

Running his hands along his tail, he quietly whispers, "I'm sorry too."

Surprised at the deep voice greeting his ears Jimin's mouth slowly falls open. Realizing that he was staring he was quick to collect himself. Brushing away the apology Jimin can't help but move in closer. Lips parting just as he's about to ask if the younger was hungry a  the knock at the door has him turning away unaware of the green eyes following after. Opening the door Jimin smiles at the men delivering the new furniture. Pointing them down to the end of the hall he's quick to tell them to place everything in there before he's leading Taehyung to the kitchen. His eyes crinkled up, a smile bloomed across his lips and his word gentle.

Frowning Taehyung pulls the blanket around him tighter as he watches the strange men walk around Jimin's home. Their scents while not unpleasant bothered him. Their scents didn't belong here. With each new box that they brought in his eyes trailed after them. Tail swishing to the side Taehyung keeps his owner within his sight. When one of the men gets closer to Jimin, the wide grin and the gaze focused on his owner had a low growl starting. It's only when the male places an offending limb on Jimin's shoulders despite the uncomfortable look that he growls. His tail puffing up and his eyes slit as he moves forward. Snarling just as he moves Jimin is pushing him back, the slight fear in Jimin's eyes having him moving away immediately as his heart clenches and heading back to the spot between the two couches. Placing his head on the leather seats his hands rest along the arms. Eyes remaining on the worker Taehyung digs his nails into the couch beneath him. His hands shaking when he catches the smug smile thrown his way.

At the next snarl, Jimin glances over. His eyes immediately landing on Taehyung. Voice firm he throws the male's arm off him again. "Taehyung, no."

Once the growls cease Jimin narrows his eyes on the worker, before him. Ignoring the name stitched into the red fabric he mutters, "I'm not paying you to try and flirt with me. Get back to work before I call your supervisor."

Ignoring the apology Jimin once more makes his way to the kitchen. Beginning to cook breakfast he warily eyes the men coming in and out of his penthouse. When they leave, Jimin quickly makes his way to his room once he turns off the stove. Letting out a sigh he hopes Taehyung didn't misunderstand, but he knew he'd have to explain. Pulling out the brand new collar he had asked to be made, Jimin frowned before he once more making his way back into the living room. Hands trembling Jimin swallows the lump in his throat. As much as he didn't want to put a collar on Taehyung, the reaction that he had with the delivery men had him remembering that he needed to place it on the younger.

Jimin really didn't like the idea of having to collar Taehyung but he had to if he wanted to make sure no one would ever lay a hand on him. Lightly touching the small star made out of silver he lets a bitter smile form at the sight of his name and information. Turning the tiny star around when his eyes land on the Park Industries logo he hopes that no one would ever try to take him away from him. That and he hopes that word would never get to his father about Taehyung. Once he comes to a stop before the two couches Jimin barely manages to whisper his name before he gets a reaction, "Taehyung."

Eyes widening Taehyung moves back. The sight of the collar sending a chill running down his spine. Shaking his head, his eyes begin to sting, a small whine starting as he presses himself against the wall.

Pleading Jimin glances down at his shoes when he sees tears forming, "Taehyung, please I need you to wear this. You can take it off in here but when we go outside in an hour you're going to have to wear it."

Whimpering his ears lay flat against his head. His tail curling around him as he cries out a reply, "N-no, please. I'll be good."

Heartbreaking Jimin doesn't dare to take a step closer.

"Taehyung, I need you to wear this. Please. I promise I won't hurt you. I won't let anyone hurt you. Not when you're with me."

Shaking his head Taehyung let's out a quiet whine. His words mumbled as he inches further against the wall, "No, no, no."

"Please Taehyung, just for a few hours. When we come back you can take it off. I'll take it off of you. I promise. Please, for me."

Raising his head slightly Taehyung wipes at his eyes. Seeing Jimin had yet to take a step closer he let's go of his tail. Eyes remaining glued to the ground he wonders if he just stayed there if Jimin would leave. But then the faint memory of his past owner hitting him for not listening comes to mind. Looking up at his new owner he bites the bottom of his lip. Ears slightly twitching he lets out another whine.

Slowly moving forward Taehyung doesn't stop crying. Flinching slightly as small hands near him he doesn't dare to look up at his new owner. As hands carefully place the collar on he begins to panic when it slightly tightens. Just as he's about to move away, Jimin loosens the light blue collar. When Taehyung moves back his eyes immediately move to the star that slightly gleams at the light hitting it. Nodding once, Jimin quietly asks Taehyung to follow him into the kitchen. All throughout breakfast Taehyung remained silent. Struggling with the utensils before him he wipes away a few tears before taking another bite out of his toast.

Glancing at Taehyung every now and then Jimin can't help but remember the way the fox-hybrid had reacted to his touch. Frowning into his bowl of cereal Jimin can help but stare at the new collar Taehyung now wore.

Once they were finished eating Jimin is quick to clean off the table and wash the dishes while Taehyung showered. Taking a glance at his phone Jimin lets out a small sigh as he runs his hands through his hair. 'This is so not how I wanted this day to go.'

Following after Jimin his eyes move to all the stores he sees. Bumping into Jimin he is quick to take a few steps back. Moving his eyes to his hands the small sigh he hears has him wincing as he tugs the hood on his head further over his ears. Resisting the urge to twitch his ears Taehyung is glad that his tail is covered by the huge sweater Jimin had given him. With each store they go into, Taehyung puts on every piece of clothing that Jimin hands him. Each time Jimin hands him more and more clothes he feels confused, especially when he's asked if there's anything he wants to try on that he likes. Shrugging each time Taehyung couldn't help but wonder if Jimin was trying to trick him. Holding onto the bags handed to him, he tried taking the one's his owner held, but at the small glare and, "I can help too," he left it at that.

When they finally do get back to his owner's home, Taehyung gently sets the bags on the table in the living room. When his owner rushes into his bedroom he carefully sits down on the ground, his hands going to the ends of the sweater. Folding and placing the sweater alongside the bags Taehyung lightly taps the tiled floor. His ears twitching at the sound of padding feet.

When Jimin sits beside him, Taehyung slightly moves a bit to the side, unaware of the frown gracing Jimin's face or the sadness growing. Staring widely at the object being handed out to him, Taehyung slowly grabs it. Turning it around in his hand Jimin's voice teals his attention.

"This is a smartphone. I'm going to be at work for most of the week and well I want you to be able to call me or text me when you need anything."

Listening carefully Taehyung stared in awe as he watched everything Jimin did on the phone. When Jimin opens an app and begins to explain the game he finds himself lost as he tries to beat the score above. When a few minutes go by Jimin slowly moves his hands to the collar on Taehyung's neck. Pausing for a minute he takes a deep breath before quickly undoing the collar. When it falls to the side he sets it to the side. The sound of fingers tapping on the screen and green eyes narrowed in concentration nothing but a relief to him.

Slow and steady. One step at a time.

Groaning when he sees the time on the clock Jimin frowns. With the days having gone by so fast he wishes he could ask for another week off now that it was Sunday and he would have to return to work on Monday. But he knows he can't, not when he still had so much to learn. As much as he loved his father a part of him didn't want to go back to work. Not with his father's harsh remarks and his view of hybrids often reaching his ears. Moving to push himself up Jimin can't. Turning his head slightly to the left, Jimin smiles fondly when he sees the tip of black ears. Lifting his hand up the tips of his fingers softly brush against Taehyung's ears. Dropping his hand back onto his bed, he lets out a sigh before deciding that a few more minutes wouldn't do any harm.

Tucking himself into Jimin's side Taehyung gently pulls the blanket up higher his tail wrapping around his human as he once more drifts off to sleep. The past few days reassuring him that maybe Jimin wasn't like his owner, but he'd have to wait and see.
