Jaebum narrowed his eyes as he watched Jinyoung leave before turning to Crescent and pulling her into his office.
“Are you settling in alright?” He asks as he lets go of her arm.

“I’m alright thank you.”

“Good.” he says, turning to into a serious face. “Let’s go have lunch.” He says suddenly quickly, walking ahead at a fast pace, but just slow enough that Crescent could follow him.

Jaebum leads her to a dining room that was set for two people in a room with large windows letting the sun in. Jaebum helps her into her seat before walking to the other side and sitting down. As if on cue the food was brought in. Crescent tried to stifle a laugh, it looked as if the chef had prepared a food from all over the world and soon the there was no longer space on the table for the dishes that were being brought in. The bowls of rice and noodle soup looked out of place next to the dainty sandwiches and scones.

Jaebum looked at her with questionable eyes.

This made her laugh, “Sorry, it’s just a very diverse range for a lunch for two.” She explains.

Jaebum looks away; if Crescent didn’t notice the slight tinge of pink around the tip of her ears she would have been worried that she offended him.

A few moments passed as Jaebum composed himself, he turned back clearing his throat. “I didn’t know what you liked to eat so I asked the chef to make a bit of everything.”

This time it was her turn to blush, touched by his unexpected thoughtfulness.

“Thank you.” she smiled shyly.

“It’s nothing special. Eat.” He ordered feeling the embarrassment creep back.

Crescent hesitates; it was a well-known etiquette that the King had to start the meal. He notices her hesitation.

‘Crescent.” He calls softly, “When it’s just you and me, that’s the way I want it to be. I’m not a king and you’re not the King’s fiancée. Ok?”

“Ok.” she says as she slowly picks up a spring roll and takes a bite as Jaebum watches with an eager smile. “It’s delicious!” she exclaims.

“Really?” he says also reaching for a spring roll, finishing it in two large bites. “It is quite delicious...”

The two of them eat in silence, only shy glances were exchanged until Jaebum spoke up again.
