Crescent looked around the room, a room she had passed by many times, but it was the first time that she actually took time to sit and study the room. They never had guests in the last fifteen years or so, hence there was never been a use for a lounge until today. Gerald made sure the room was spotless. In contrast Crescent spotted a little smudge of paint on her palm; she rubbed at it hoping that it could be rubbed off. The sound of a loud knock made her subconsciously hide her palms, her heart racing all of a sudden.

“His majesty, King Im Jaebum.” Gerald announced as he opens the door.

A young man, probably not much older that her walked in.

Crescent quickly dips into a deep curtsy then slowly turns her face to him and meets his eyes. His eyes were piercing, and thoughtful, it was as if he was searching for something within her and she had nowhere to hide. She looked away feeling trapped. When she looked into his eyes again, it was if there was a pull, a magnetism of some kind that was calling out to her. His eyes were deep and dark, mysterious yet open.

“Let’s get married.”

Crescent froze slightly agape. This was not what she was expecting. It was only when Jaebum cocked his head to the side did she realize that she hadn’t responded yet.

“Your majesty,-” she starts

“Jaebum is fine.”

“I don’t know how to respond… there is so much to consider, I haven’t even began to process what you mean.”

Jaebum considers this for a moment, “Then take your time to consider it. I’ll come back tomorrow for your answer.” he says getting up and walked towards the doors which opened automatically as if the doors detected his presence. Just as the door was about the close he turned back, and walked closer to Crescent, she expected to stop in front of her but he continued to the point where she started to walk backwards in order to keep some distance. She kept moving until her back was against a wall. Jaebum continued until Crescent’s vision was filled only with him. He leaned in until his lips were by her ear.

“Please don’t be scared of me.” he said softly.<
