Chapter 7
Please StayCrescent didn’t know how to react. Somehow it never occurred to her that she would be staying so close to Jaebum with only a door separating them. But then again she was to be married to Jaebum sometime in the future.
She looked up to see Jaebum smiling at her but as soon as he noticed her gaze his expression turned into a neutral one.
Crescent gave him a small smile, “i supposed I should, go . you should get some rest.” She says still trying to recover for her embarrassment earlier.
“Wait!” Jaebum held onto her arm, “Can you keep me company for a while.”
Crescent looked at his eyes, despite feeling a little tired she agreed. “What would you like me to do?”
Jaebum smiled and plopped down on the floor resting his back on the door frame, and signaled Crescent to do the same. She sat down carefully, pulling her kneed to her chest and rested her back on the door from mirroring Jaebum’s position.
A comfortable silence falls between them.
“How was your day?” he asked.
Crescent smiled, “I spent most of my day with you.”
Jaebum looks up a brief smile flitted across is lips, it passed so quickly Crescent thought she might have imagined it, “I suppose that’s true.”
“How was your day?’
“It was the same as always, finding problems, solving problem, stuff like that. But I supposed today wasn’t as bad.” he smiled thinking about the little moments he spent with her.
Crescent was woken up by the soft chatter of passing pallor maids. She sat up slowly, running her fingers through her hair, she had sent away her personal maids earlier, but they had still laid out an outfit on the dresser. She walks over pausing by the door that separated her from Jaebum’s rooms. She briefly wondered if he was in his room. Out of curiosity she knocked softly on the door, but only silence was returned. A little disappointed, she walked to the dresser and put the outfit the maids had set out back in the rack and pulled out the clothes she wore when she wanted to work on some painting. She picked up her hair scarf about to wrap it when she decides again it, putting it back in the drawer. As she closed the drawer, a piece of paper fluttered down. Turning it over in her hand, she noticed it was a poorly drawn map, it showed her general directions. She gathered her things and slipped out of the room. No one paid much attention to her in
