Chapter 5
Please StayCrescent was not expecting that Jaebum would be coming to take her to the palace. She was just waiting for the secretary but instead, Jaebum walked through in the house.
“You ready?” he asks.
She nods as she puts on her silk scarf as she tries to hide her surprise,
“Why do you do that?” He asks.
She blushes, “People stare at me if I don’t. It makes me uncomfortable.”
Jaebum’s laughter sounds around the room, “Don’t wear that, I’ll make a law saying people are not allowed to stare.”
Crescent hesitates staring at the scarf in her hand.
“Please?” Jaebum says softly, “I want to see your eyes.”
“Ok.” She says as she finally places the scarf in her bag. Jaebum’s actions confused her. There were so many sides to him, the nonchalant, casual version of him, the cold King that she had yet to meet but heard so much about, and the soft, kind version of him that suddenly appears and disappears just as fast. The latter is the one that confuses her the most.
Jaebum was regretting his decision as soon as they arrived at the palace. He wanted to take the scarf and shield her from the stares. He vowed he would make the ruling as soon as he got back to the office. But she seemed to be at peace looking at the scenery as they walked across the hallways. He couldn’t really blame them either, her beauty was exquisite, her features were unique and not conventionally beautiful but she was the most beautiful person he had ever seen. He glared at anyone who stared too much especially, the stares from the opposite gender. Thankfully they reached the private quarters and only members of the staff would pass by quietly greeting the two of them and Jaebum could finally relax.
“This is your room.” Jaebum says as he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a key. He unlocks the door and opens it. The room only had simple decorations it was open and had a clean feeling with a neutral palette. “This is yours now.” He says handing her the key.
“Thank you.” She says softly.
“I’ll leave you to get settled. Come to find me if you need anything, if you go down to the hall you can ask anyone for directions.”
She nods, and he turns to leave, but turns back and gives her a lingering look. “Let me know if you need anything.” he says and leaves quickly.
Crescent looked at the time. It was already nearing the eleventh hour; Jaebum had accompanied her for nearly the whole morning. He must be busy. She entered her room and saw that her belongings that she brought with were
