AFTERMATH
COVETPark Chaeyoung can feel her heart pounding in her chest louder than it ever had before, as though it were simply ready to burst right in front of her. Her mind had been absent from work for a while now, though it doesn't stop her from drowning in anything she could get her hands on, anything that wasn’t him. She blinks and for a brief moment, she almost forgets about the last few days and thinks of him until she hears the sound of a throat clearing for her attention. Reality suddenly became unfamiliar as she peers through thin lashes, noticing the group standing in front of her desk and her eyes, out of their own instinct look to him as though she wanted some sort of answer. Except she didn’t. There were no questions. She thinks that he made the right choice, that their worlds and styles were too different to compromise and that in the end, she could never show the same affection as he did. Park Chaeyoung wasn’t a woman of negotiation, unless it further benefited her however, she’d already reached past her limits and somehow, that hadn’t been suffice. She knew from the start of the red bells that rung in her head like a mantra of sorts, a cautionary tale that she’d carelessly enjoyed for a few moments of pure bliss.
