Chapter 5: Romanized Korean
The (Not so) Perfect Story
A common problem here in AFF: Romanized Korean.
People just like to write romanized Korean here.
I remember reading this awesome story, and out of the random, it spat out this:
"Nugaboda do jara. Urin saranghaetjana."
"I know you the best. We were in love."
Now, I didn't know much Korean at that time so I was like,"...What the shiitake mushrooms!?"
What not to do:
Don't write huge chunks of Korean in your story. Most people that read AFF probably aren't Korean anyways. Having a little Korean is fine though, as long as it's a well known word like "Noona" or "Oppa." Don't go overboard. Nobody wants to read something that they don't even understand. If you want to write a lot of Korean, why don't you just write the whole story in romanization or hangul?
Remember:
Cooked shiitake mushrooms are good.
Having anything that is hard to understand will shun readers. They wont understand and they'll soon get uninterested.
