First off, detail. Okay, I know how people say that detail is hard. It's actually very simple. Unless you're a lazy couch potato.

Undetailed sentences:

I went to the park with my dog. There was a playground there. There were kids playing on the playground.
 

So, starting with that. Those three sentences right there look very rushed and plain. So boring, it makes me want to fall asleep.

How to make a detailed sentences:

Before you write down a sentence, think, "Is that the best I can do?" Usually, it isn't.

For me, I break it down into parts when I'm stuck.

1. Think of the place: Park

2. Engage all of your senses. Think about what can be seen, what can be heard, what's felt:

• Sunny Day
• Perfect weather
• Kids
• Laughing
• Kids chasing each other
• Happy

3. Combine it:

I decided to walk my dog to the park. It was a bright and sunny day, and weather was perfect for a picnic or outing.
At the park, there was a playground filled with little kids. They looked like they were having a good time as they chased each other around, laughing and screaming. It made me happy watching them, and it put a warm smile on my face. 

Another Example:

1. Think of a place: Overview of a city at night

2. Engage all of your senses. Think about what can be seen, what can be heard, what's felt:

• Bright lights
• Standing on a cliff
• Tall towers
• Quiet
• Calming
• Relaxing

3. Combine it:

The night was still and quiet. Peering off the side of the cliff, I could see the whole city immersed in bright lights. The tall towers were the ones that stood out the most- how they reached so high into the sky.
I inhaled the air around me, calming myself down and relaxing my strained muscles.

Remember:

Writing the whole thing for this is boring and... even more boring... But it's important. Really show the image to your readers.
