Proof
Shooting StarsJisoo doesn’t know how long she’s been laughing, or how drunk she is.
She only remembers the last thing she saw before closing her eyes and surrendering into laughter: a white-hot streak that flashed across the sky, near the glowing star she pointed her finger at earlier.
A shooting star.

Jennie stands so quietly still, she feels the evening breeze and hears Jisoo’s tail-end amusement.
She double-takes. She can feel the breeze between her fingers, and brings them up to her face. Her fingers glow pale under the moonlight, her skin in a natural luster.
“Who-who are you?”

Jisoo thinks she must have had too many beers, because standing by the deck steps is a figure illuminated by the moonlight and her porch lamp.
“Who-who are you?” Her voice quivers in shock and confusion.
The unidentified figure doesn’t move, still observing their own palms.
“Excuse me? Can you hear me?” Jisoo props herself up on her elbows, and squints in annoyance. The fear has subsided.

Jisoo’s tone has changed, and Jennie finally lowers her hands to look at Jisoo, half-propped up, looking in her direction.
Jennie takes a few steps nearer, and Jisoo flinches at the lessening proximity.
“D-don’t come any closer. I’m going to scream.”
Jennie suddenly recalls that Jisoo gets easily startled.
“Oh, no, no. Please don’t. Please do not scream or fall
