The Moving Day
Roommate"Ok. So have we all got our keys?" Kwang Soo asked, and everyone raised their keys with a blank stare at their new apartment door. It read '7'. Kwang Soo motioned to unlock the door, only to be stopped by Gary.
"Wait! I feel like we should do something symbolic to commemorate our first official stepping into this house- should someone carry Ji Hyo through the threshold? Hyung- ouch!" Gary gestured to the muscular Jong Kook, only to get strange stares and a whack on either side of his shoulder from both Jae Suk and Ji Hyo. He winced and rubbed on his shoulder.
"Are you crazy? I'm not a bride getting married to all six of you- we're only roommates! Can't we just walk in like normal people?"
And so they walked in like normal people, getting the movers in the moving vehicles to bring in their furniture and knick-knacks. Before long, everything was set up and the members all looked around to make finishing touches.
"Oh my god are you serious?" Ji Hyo laughed in disbelief seeing Jong Kook bring in the last of his items- dumbbells. While the others were busying themselves with arranging the sofas and chairs, checking to see if the household appliances worked, or helping Gary soundproof his room, Jong Kook was focused on transferring his exercise equipment to his and Kwang Soo's room.
"Why, what's wrong?"
"We're moving in, not building a gym you exercise fanatic!" Ji Hyo couldn't help but laugh. And it got on Jong Kook's nerves.
"What's wrong with liking to keep fit? It's better than being like you-"
"Being like me?" Ji Hyo's eyes widened and her arms were akimbo. "What's wrong with being like me? And what does being like me entail?"
"Nothing..." Jong Kook ran away at top speed to his room to put his things away.
"Hey! You haven't answered my question-"
"Okay that's enough you two stop fighting..." In order not to embarrass Suk Jin, Ji Hyo decided to let this one go and calmed down.
"Yeah- come over here, kiss and make up, let's talk about our new house." Gary added, to which Ji Hyo rolled her eyes and everyone gathered in their living room and sat on the comfy chairs and sofas.
"Honestly, I think we've got a pretty nice set up here- everything in the kitchen works and we even have a fridge." Dong Hoon noted happily, tapping on his new favorite item in the house.
"Yeah, and I could just imagine all of us sitting here with our laptops, chatting like those people in the sitcoms-" Kwang Soo said dreamily, to which the others had to suppress giggles hearing.
"Yeah, and I could just imagine all of us getting sick of each other!" Jong Kook replied jokingly, causing laughter to erupt.
"You don't have to imagine that, I'm already sick of you..." Ji Hyo mocked with a sweet smile, and Jong Kook was caught off guard by her comment again.
"Why do you keep picking on me?" Jong Kook complained, staring her down with folded arms.
"How am I picking on you?" Ji Hyo spat back with equal force, looking up at him with crossed arms.
"Alright alright! You two need a bonding activity if you're ever going to get along. Go down to the grocery store together and get supplies to stock up our kitchen and fridge, as well as ingredients for our dinner. We'll have to celebrate our moving in with a bang." Jae Suk cut in and instructed, and that was that. They planned to have a bit of a barbecue dinner with lots of meat and hoped they wouldn't set off the smoke detector.
The walk to the grocery store started off silent and awkward, Jong Kook and Ji Hyo keeping a distance from each other and looking straight ahead. If one were to chance upon the two they would've assumed Jong Kook and Ji Hyo were strangers not even traveling to the same destination. Eventually the tense silence became too much for Ji Hyo to bear and she broke it with a question.
"What did you mean just now?" Ji Hyo took this chance to move nearer to Jong Kook.
"What did I mean about what?" Jong Kook moved in as well.
"When you said keeping fit was better than being
