Jae Suk, Suk Jin, and Ji Hyo were in the midst of a supply run for the apartment, taking a break on the way home to eat some fish cakes as a midday snack. They sat on a bench with all their groceries as they enjoyed their much deserved treat. Ji Hyo decided to make some small talk.

"So how did you two meet your respective girlfriends?" She asked with full.

"We were roommates, and our girlfriends were roommates living in the room across us. We would chat with them when we saw them and then when we could work up the courage we'd ask them to come over for a meal in our room, but we could never provide anything fancier than ramen." Jae Suk explained.

Ji Hyo found the story amusing.

"So how did ramen dinners translate into dates?"

Suk Jin chuckled. "That's where Jong Kook came in."

"Kim Jong Kook?" Ji Hyo almost choked on her fish cakes. She did not expect to hear that name.

"I was having trouble confessing to Soo Jung and was planning on just doing it in the hallway when it was empty. I had bragged about my decision for weeks but when it actually came down to it I couldn't get a word out."

"So Jong Kook randomly opened the door and yelled 'Yah, the idiot's trying to say he likes you!' And then slammed the door." Jae Suk continued with a chuckle. "He did the same with me too. It was so embarrassing that at that very moment I wished he had never lived in the room next to us, but then she told me she liked me too."

"And the same thing happened to me. We sent Jong Kook a fruit basket."

Ji Hyo giggled. "I imagine he must've really liked that. So that's how the three of you met? Neighboring dormitory rooms?"

"Yep. Since our very first year in college. When we first met Jong Kook we thought he was this naggy meddlesome health buff who worked out too much-"

"Isn't he still all those things?" Jae Suk interjected jokingly. "Yeah, but we have to thank Kook Jong for a lot. He was like everyone's dorm mom. He could make healthy dorm-cooked meals even though there weren't any stoves. And Kook Jong was nice enough to offer us some because we looked like we needed the sustenance more than he did and he couldn't stand watching us eat ramen everyday. He's a caring muscular man."

Ji Hyo nodded. "I guess."

"Have you been getting along with Jong Kook recently?"

"Well, 'getting along' certainly wouldn't describe our relationship right now... To be honest it's been weird with him recently."

"So all the times we left the two of you alone together didn't make you closer?"

It's because you guys keep leaving me alone with him, that's what let things get weird. Because when Kim Jong Kook was alone with her he did weird things and didn't follow through. Ji Hyo just shrugged.

"It's not that I hate him. Things are just weird between us currently. I've been getting close to Dong Hoon in one of the classes that we happen to have together and we talk all throughout class and barely listen. I've always been close with Gary and I've known Kwang Soo my whole life. I feel a lot closer to the two of you now, too. It's just with Jong Kook, it's weird currently. I don't know how to explain it."

"Well, whatever it is, we hope you two work it out. We should head back now." The three finished the last of their fish cakes and got up from the bench, heading back to the apartment.

"We're home!" The three chorused as they dumped all the bags of groceries on the kitchen counter. Jong Kook and Kwang Soo were in the middle of some strange kind of workout. Jong Kook seemed really immersed in it while Kwang Soo seemed on the verge of death. It was apparent he had been forced to do it with Jong Kook.

"They're home! Can we go to the pool now?" Kwang Soo asked desperately.

"Pool? What pool?" Suk Jin asked.

"Soo Hong invited me to the new community pool they just opened up. Apparently it's free for students, and there's couple activities going on too. You guys should come." Jong Kook explained.

"Soo Hong? Who's Soo Hong?" Ji Hyo was puzzled. It seemed she knew nobody.

"Soo Hong's a buddy of mine. We used to be roommates." Jong Kook continued to explain.

"Well ok. I was sold on the idea the moment you mentioned the word 'free'. So count me in."

"Jae Suk? Suk Jin? Up for the couple activities they have?"

"No. We're really not pool people." Jae Suk and Suk Jin headed back to their room.

"So it's just us three then. Let's get changed a
