“Why did you do that?” 

“Coz I think I love you.”

They hadn’t moved for quite some time. Taehyung was still holding Jungkook’s waist and Jungkook had both his hands behind Taehyung’s neck.

“What…what are you saying?” 

Jungkook smiled, stringing his fingers into Taehyung’s hair.
“You heard me.”

Taehyung blinked a number of times,  his mouth falling open a little. He stared at Jungkook, his eyes searching his face again, as if for some sign that he might be joking. 

“But, how…what…what do you mean?”

“You idiot.” Jungkook ran his fingers through Taehyung’s long hair. “What do you mean when you say you love someone?” He whispered before leaning in to kiss Taehyung again. Taehyung seemed to be in a daze when Jungkook moved back to look at his face. There was that familiar open mouthed blank expression that he’d seen numerous times before in his life, which meant Taehyung was either deeply moved by something fascinating in front of him or that he was actually totally blank, at a loss to understand something he wanted to understand with all his might. It melted Jungkook’s heart. He leaned in and kissed Taehyung’s cheek, then the tip of his nose, laughing as he did so.  
“Weirdo…”

“But…”

“But what?!”

“But you…” Taehyung asked, swallowing. “You… you like girls…” Taehyung's voice was small, half confused, half accusatory. 

“Do you REALLY wanna get into THAT right now?!” 

Taehyung face changed, the corners of his lips rising slowly into a grin. Jungkook raised his hand, brushing away the hair that had fallen over Taehyung’s eyes. 
“Are you…are you sure?” Taehyung asked in a very low voice.

“I’ve never been so sure of anything.” Jungkook said.

Taehyung exhaled deeply, his grin turning into a more delicate smile. 

“It took me too long to understand. But there’s no greater truth for me now. Taehyung, I love you.”
Jungkook held Taehyung’s face with in his hands. “I had to tell you this…” 
Taehyung brought his hands up around Jungkook’s. 

“I know you said you have moved on.”Jungkook continued. “I probably have no right to touch you at all. But I couldn’t take it anymore. I can’t live a lie anymore. It took me too long to know what I feel…I’m the biggest fool in the world, having your love and losing it…I guess it’s too late…but I can live with it. I had to tell you.” Jungkook breathed a sigh. He removed his hands from Taeyung’s face, sitting back.

“I’m not a completely heartless jerk, Taehyung. I was just really foolish. I never wanted to hurt you.”

Taehyung’s grin slowly turned down at the edges. 

“Do you not believe me Tae?”

Taehyung continued to look into his eyes silently. His eyes seemed faraway, lost in some other reality. Jungkook moved his hand to his cheek, brushing it lightly with his palm and Taehyung inhaled sharply, his eyelashes fluttering but he didn’t break his gaze. 

“Losing my love? You think I could stop loving you?” Taehyung said.

“You said earlier…”

“You fall in love once Jungkook ah…” Taehyung said, his voice warm and full of emotion. “Once. And you don’t just stop loving.” 

“Tae
