Just A FriendTaehyung couldn’t breathe suddenly, his lungs were filled with a liquid that was suffocating, his eyes following his Hyung until his body was pressed against a beautiful display of blue. He felt betrayed, for Jin was the only person who he opened up too about Terra, the only person he felt that he could speak openly with. Taehyung never would have guessed that Jin held feelings for the same girl, yet when his arms wrapped tightly against her waist and their cheeks laid upon each other, Taehyung felt like the biggest joke in the world.
Did they talk about him? Did Terra laugh when Jin told her everything Taehyung said about her? Were they dating? So many questions rushed through his mind, all the while his eyes were becoming blind to the scene that was before him. He couldn’t stand to see it, so he decided to look away, settling his attention towards his own date who was still in a heavy conversation with Park Jimin.
“Dance?” He questioned, alarmed when wide eyes fell towards him for the first time since arriving.
“Have you seen this dress?” Seo responded, her petite hands ruffling out the small winkles that spoiled the otherwise fluffy gown. “You can go dance if you’d like, but I’d rather sit here and talk to my friends… Is that okay?” She seemed almost nervous of the answer, and Taehyung swallowed what little anger had built within him, settling for a small nod of his head.
Oh, how he wished that someone could distract him, for whenever his mind would be alone, his eyes would fall back towards the hottest couple on the dance floor. The way she clung to his shoulder as though he were the most important thing in her life and remembering the way she pushed Taehyung away. It was bitter sweet, because though it hurt a thousand times more than anything, it also gave him strength to stay away and to finally be the person who walked away first.
“They look good together” a male’s voice pulled his attention, his eyes drifting to find Namjoon sitting across from him, his own eyes watching the couple that probably stole the spotlight for the night.
“Yeah” Taeyhung muttered, running his hand through his hair and focusing his grip strength on the glass before him, thankful that it wasn’t just water inside of the oval glass. “They look great” he sighed out, bringing the liquids to his lips and allowing the clear liquid to burn at his throat.
Jealously wasn’t the correct word to describe how Kim Taehyung was feeling while watching Jin pull Terra so close towards himself, the way his eyes fluttered to a close and the inhale of his chest allowed her fruity scented hair to engulf him. Whatever was birthing inside of himself, was something larger than what he could describe with words, watching helplessly as Terra grasped tighter, clung to his shoulder so harshly, that even the fabric couldn’t endure the strength and bended at it’s will. Why couldn’t she hold onto him like that? Was he truly of no significance?
Taehyung swallowed drink after drink, listening to the music play on and off between slow and upbeat sounds, his vision beginning to blur and everything around him becoming useless. It wasn’t as though Taehyung liked to drink, in fact he hated it, but when Seo had offered it, he couldn’t resist the urge to release the pain, if only for a short while. Little did he know, was that someone hadn’t brought the drinks for a good time, and that she was sitting opposite of him, watching his every move.

“May I have this dance?” Terra’s eyes widened when feeling a tap on her shoulder, yet a smile quickly took her lips when seeing Jin in a silky suit, bringing out his handsome features so much more than the regular school uniform.
“I don’t mind” Namjoon spoke while stepping away and heading towards the table in which Terra was trying desperately to avoid, her eyes falling back towards the older male who stole her dance. Jin had always been comfortable, and as his arms wrapped around her waist and hers around his shoulder, she couldn’t help but to pull him closer, to allow her cheek to rest if only for the duration of a song. She was exhausted, plagued with illness that wouldn’t fade, and the thought of rest seemed so far away, and yet here she was, able to breathe without the fear of judgement.
“You didn’t do your make-up” Jin whispered, his cheek falling atop of her own if only to hide her face from the observing crowd around them, allowing her tears to stain at his shoulder and wet the clothes he probably paid a fortune to wear.
“It’s a good thing” Terra whispered back, her grip against his shoulder blade tightening, fe
