My name is HaLee Anne Yoon or Yoon HaLee Anne (whichever you prefer); I was born a month too early and ever since then Mama and Papi have been telling me to slow down.  I’m the maknae (the youngest) of my family and the one with the most screw ups but I think I’ve finally outgrown that (crossing fingers).

It’s early morning before a hot California summer day and my horse, Sky II (His Papi, Sky I will get an easier ride later), and I have climbed the hills above our estate.  At least for a little while, I think I’m ready to slow down.  I’ve been busy making my own contribution to ILC Group and I finally have my brother, HaNeul, on my side.  I love my family, even if I still struggle with Korean (Did I mention we were half Korean)?  But Mama says we all have our own gifts that the Lord has given us.  My sister put our Harabeoji’s (Papi’s Grandpa) stories to music and as I promised since I was little, I want to tell the world about my family.  I’ve collected a lot of stories over the years (this old notebook I carry is full of my scribblings) and I’m ready to start my memoirs.  Our family and our friends are almost considered royalty but that’s not what we’re about.  We have faith; yes, it’s been tested many times.  We cry (not too much, thank God), we make mistakes (especially me), we quarrel and make up (a lot), but most of all, we love (most of the time).

Well, I have a busy day ahead of me.  I need to sort through my cloud file if I plan to start writing.  Also, my boyfriend is coming today.  We’ve kind of had an on again off again relationship for many years (more best friends than boyfriend and girlfriend) but I think this time - this is it.  I’m ready if he ever asks.

 - “I’m off!  Come on, Sky,” putting away the notebook and mounting the horse, they climb back down the hill toward the Yoon Estate and new Equestrian Center.
