MAPLE TREE HOUSE ITAEWON
NOVEMBER 12
"Here, Eunbi, eat," Yewon smiled. She pushed the plate of cooked meat towards her best friend, who was visibly anxious. Eunbi's leg was bouncing and all she could do was push her pieces of meat around with the silver chopsticks tucked beneath her hand. Yewon was confused. Why was Eunbi acting this way? She rubbed her lips together to avoid asking any questions and instead focused on flipping and cooking the rest of the meat.
This hangout between her and Eunbi wasn't what she expected. She was looking forward to new conversations so the two could catch up, but nothing. All Eunbi did was flash nervous smiles at Yewon now and then and stuff her face with meat to distract herself. Yewon was positive that she must've done something wrong. She even lost her appetite from the way the other was behaving.
"Eunbi.. Why are you-"
"I'm here," a strange voice called out from the entrance of the restaurant, obviously out of breath. "I'm sorry it took so long."
"Yerin!" Eunbi exclaimed excitedly, her attention immediately shifting from Yewon to her girlfriend. "Don't apologize, we just started."
Yewon had to put down her chopsticks quietly. She was contemplating whether or not she should lift her head up to watch the couple. After some thinking, she decided she'd turn around to face them, but she didn't expect to be greeted with the sight of Yerin and Eunbi kissing. She simply bit her lip to stop herself from saying anything, but she was hurting. She wanted to leave, but that would just raise suspicion.
"You must be Yewon!" Yerin finally took notice of the shorter girl, walking towards her to shake her hand firmly. "I'm Yerin, Eunbi's girlfriend. She's told you so much about you."
"I'm glad," Yewon smiled slightly, still shaking her hand. "O-Oh, uh, come sit on my spot. I have to go anyway."
"Wait," Eunbi interrupted as Yewon was standing. "You do? You said you'd be free tonight?"
Yewon smiled again. She couldn't even face her best friend tonight. "Something just came up... You two enjoy. I'll see you guys around."
Eunbi was frozen. She wanted to understand why Yewon left out of the blue, but she took her word for it. Yewon, on the other hand, hid in the alleyway behind the restaurant to finally let her tears fall. All she wanted was quality time with her best friend, but of course Eunbi had something else up her sleeve.
PRESENT DAY
"Are you exhausted? I know you've been filming for almost twelve hours," Eunha spoke up. She decided to give her best friend a surprise visit to her music video set, partly because she wanted to keep her away from Eunbi as well. Eunha might've been small, but she knew how to fight.
"I'm fine, unnie," Yewon smiled reassuringly. But her eyes spoke another story. She had been up since four in the morning just to get into her first outfit. "You didn't need to come and see me."
