AUGUST 19
Yewon was in deep thought. These past few months hanging out with Eunbi was making her realize her feelings for the girl. She thought it was just a temporary crush, but she was wrong. Every night, the only thing she could think about was Eunbi - her voice, her smile, her lips, her eyes, her everything! She couldn't believe it. She always thought she was straight but after meeting Eunbi, she was absolutely far from it. She even caught herself staring at Eunbi's arms while she cut the cake for her birthday celebration, which Eunbi insisted they'd have together. Originally, Yewon didn't want anything to do for her birthday but of course with Eunbi being Yewon's bestest friend, she at least had to buy her a cake, so Eunbi did just that, plus a chicken dinner for them to enjoy with beer.
Just the thought of Eunbi celebrating and surprising her with a cake and a box of chicken made her grin like an idiot. She felt silly to have butterflies in her stomach, but it was rare for her to celebrate her birthday. She's celebrated maybe twice or three times, but they were just a few simple events with just her parents, and a homemade cake. She never had enough money to have an actual party. She used most of her allowance to buy the guitar she had in possession, that's why she treasured it so much. Skipping several birthday celebrations made it worth it because with her guitar, she felt like she was unstoppable.
Yewon was still in bed but she couldn't sleep. Eunbi wouldn't let her at the pace she was running in her mind. Exhaling, she groggily grabbed her phone and flopped down on the couch in the living space she shared with Eunha. She checked her phone and she didn't really have any notifcations, so she decided to call Eunbi.
Eunbi, on the other hand, was shocked to see Yewon's name pop up on her phone. It was almost 1 in the morning, this was something new for Yewon, but she picked up anyway. "Someone missed me already?" Eunbi teased softly.
"Says the girl who almost ate a dessert that had nuts!" Yewon pouted. "You should've told me you were allergic, I would've never offered."
"I'm sorry," Eunbi laughed with her apology. "I almost died but I was having too much fun to notice. At least now you know, right?"
"Yeah, thank god." Yewon smiled softly.
Eunbi rolled over on her bed, one arm behind her head. "So? What made you call?" she asked. She didn't mind at all actually. She loved talking to Yewon and every time she heard her voice, she felt much calmer than normal. "Don't tell me you're just calling me because you're bored," she continued.
Yewon's eyes rolled at Eunbi's accusation. "Of course not, stupid!" Yewon bit her lower lip into a cheeky smile. "I just wanted to say thank you for today. I'm really happy you spent my birthday with me. You have no idea how much it means."
"Well I can't wait for next year then. It's gonna be much better. I promise you that!" Eunbi grinned softly. "I'll even get August 19th tattooed on my forehead for you if you want."
"Please don't," Yewon whispered before giggling. "You're going to celebrate with me every year?"
"Yep! And every year it's going to be better than the last."
"Well I can't wait until I turn twenty then," Yewon released a gentle laugh.
"No don't grow up too fast!" Eunbi whined, her eyes catching a glimpse of the time. It was 2 in the morning. "Yewon," Eunbi whispered, "as much as I love talking to you, you need to sleep. You have a 9 AM class tomorrow and I don't want you staying up too late."
Yewon sighed as she forced herself to stand, dragging her body towards her room where she collapsed on her bed. "Fine," she huffed. "But you should sleep too."
"I will," she smiled softly. "Goodnight, Yewon."
"Goodnight, Eunbi."
PRESENT DAY
Yewon stepped into the break room. She had half an hour left before she needed to head into the practice room and meet with Eunbi and the rest of the dancers. But upon entering the room, she saw one of the employees packing lunch boxes for the dancers.
"What's that?" Yewon point
