To say Chanyeol was confused was an understatement. He was completely and utterly dumbfounded. No matter how hard he tried, he could just not comprehend why Baekhyun was behaving the way he was. Not only was the idol obviously ignoring him, his whole personality shifted. The once joyful male was nowhere to be found as he was now extremely moody and always seemed gloomy. It had been a week of Baekhyun giving him the cold shoulder and his frustration was continuously increasing. To make things worse, Baekhyun was busier than ever and even if he wasn't, he made himself busy by working endlessly. Even Kyungsoo was worried after seeing how much Baekhyun was overworking himself.

He remembered the day Baekhyun started ignoring him. It was when they were still staying at Chanyeol's place. The morning after they arrived, there was something off with Baekhyun. Although he was still his cheery self, his eyes weren't the same. They weren't bright like they usually were, they weren't full of the joy they usually possessed. They looked so dull and lifeless and just so different from usual. His mother and sister didn't notice as around them, Baekhyun was completely normal but around Chanyeol, his whole aura shifted.

It didn't make sense. How could Baekhyun change in just a matter of a night? Why was he the one getting avoided? No matter how much he racked his brain for what he could've possibly done to get such cold treatment from Baekhyun, he couldn't think of anything.

He thought back to the morning everything seemed different and couldn't help but reminisce the events that had occurred.

        _______________________________

It was early- 6 am when Chanyeol heard loud knocks at his door. He opened his eyes, groaning when he checked the time. Looking to his bed, he saw Baekhyun fast asleep, completely unbothered by the rapid knocks at his door. He laughed, Baekhyun had always been a deep sleeper.

"Who is it?" He questioned, opening the door before the person behind it could answer.

"Channie, it's me."

The owner of the voice was no stranger to Chanyeol. In fact, he knew her very well, despite the fact that he really wishes he didn't. There she was standing, his "girlfriend" Yejin.

She was wearing a cute mini dress, her hair longer than it was the last time he saw her. She was wearing light makeup making her cute facial features stand out.

His eyes widened as he saw her. Not wanting to disturb Baekhyun, Chanyeol grabbed the female’s arm, taking her to the empty room next to his.

"Chanyeol, I missed you so much. You've been gone for so long baby. I could barely live without you. I got so many confessions but I rejected them all because I of course only love you. I cried so much everyday, Chanyeol. I tried looking for you but no one would tell me where you were. I didn't know what to do-" She could barely finish her sentence before the tears fell from her eyes, a choked sob leaving .

"I'm sorry for being gone so long,Yejin " Chanyeol said, his voice low as he said those words.

"I missed you so much Chanyeol," Yejin replied with a shaky voice as she repeated those words.

"I missed you too-"

His sentence was cut off by a pair of soft lips. Chanyeol's eyes widened as he felt warm tears on his face as Yejin kissed him. It took him a few seconds until the shock wore off. Once it did, he pushed her away, his eyes filled with rage.

"What the are you doing?! Get away from me!" He screamed, wiping his mouth in disgust.

"W-what are you saying? Y-you're my boyfriend," she replied. Her eyes were wide, overcome with hurt. She moved closer, gripping onto his shirt, as if she could holding onto the last past of him.

He pried her away, about to lose his mind.

"You cheated on me! Remember that? I tried to break up with you so many ing times but you won't listen! You avoid all my attempts at breaking up! The only reason I haven't told you this earlier is because I was scared! You're a ing psycho! There is something wrong with you!" Chanyeol screamed, his hand gripping her collar harshly as his face turned red. He was beyond furious at the girl, tired of the facade she put on of being a sweet, pure girl and her crocodile tears.

"We're over! Get out of here, right now! And don't you dare look for me again." He finished, a dangerous look in his eyes as he said those words. Without seeing her reaction, he walked out of the room, feeling as if a weight was lifted off his shoulders.

Chanyeol remembered how everything happened, how it all began. He was in his 11th year of high school when he first met her. She was stunning, rich and popular and being the immature kid he was, he instantly fell for her. Although he was quite popular himself, he was way too shy to approach her and instead, admired her from a distance. It was only when she heard him talk to his friend about how pretty he thought she was and how much he liked her that she paid him any attention. They began getting closer once she gave him her phone number. It was the subtle glances and late night calls that sparked their romance and before long, they began dating.

The first few months of dating was heaven. It was better than anything he could've imagined. They were soon the "it" couple of their high school and every single guy in his school was jealous of him for snatching up the hottest girl in school.

Once their honeymoon phase started wearing off, Chanyeol began noticing his girlfriend's flaws that he previously ignored. Her anger issues and snobby personality became clear to him. One time, the teacher called her out for being too loud. Instead of listening to the kind old man, she simply glared and walked off. The next week, the teacher was gone. When the students, devastated as the sweetest, most understanding teacher left, asked about his sudden absence, the only response they got was that he decided to retire. At that moment, Chanyeol knew it was a lie. It didn't make sense as their teacher previously told them that he had no intention of retiring anytime soon as he loved his job too much to give it up too soon.

After that incident, Chanyeol began to get suspicious of Yejin.

Despite asking numerous times, he never got a clear answer and that, for him, was the answer. She did it, she was the one who caused his early retirement.

Although Chanyeol was reluctant to be around her after that incident, he began to really fear her after what happened to his best friend, Jinri.

Jinri was a new student and because of Chanyeol's friendly nature and because he was on the Student Council, he was asked to show her around. It didn't take them long to get along and by the end of the day, she was sitting with him and his group of friends. She was exactly what he wanted in a friend: kind and hilarious. She was also extremely easy to talk to and trustworthy and because of that, Chanyeol found himself telling her things nobody else knew- secrets that he had always kept hidden. It didn't take long for him and Jinri to become best friends.

Chanyeol knew Yejin would be jealous and so he tried to keep his distance from Jinri when his girlfriend was around. Jinri didn't understand why he would do that at first but when he told her about Yejin and how envious she got, Jinri understood despite telling him to get out of the toxic relationship.

Chanyeol thought everything was okay. For weeks, everything was fine. All until one day.

It was a strange day. Unlike usual, Jinri was absent from school. To everyone else, it wasn't a big deal. After all, most students missed more than a day so why was it a big deal if someone was absent once? Chanyeol, however, knew that Jinri had never missed before. She had a perfect attendance in not just her new school, but almost every other school she attended.

Chanyeol assumed that she was ill and that's why she missed but it also didn't make sense why she didn't text him to tell him she was ill or why she wouldn't answer his texts. Realizing that he was perhaps overreacting, Chanyeol stopped worrying, thinking that maybe she was too ill to text him back or was just being forgetful as usual. His concern only grew as it had soon been two days that she was absent and before he knew it, she had missed an entire week. Not only was she gone for so long, she wouldn't answer any of his texts or calls and no one else knew where she was. He couldn't help but panic and overthink everything that could've possibly happened and everyone noticed. If everyone else noticed, Yejin must've also noticed. However, weirdly enough, she didn't say anything. Yejin was neither angry nor jealous as she noticed how clearly distracted Chanyeol was and how he was obviously thinking and worrying about another girl.

That made Chanyeol suspicious.

Deciding that enough was enough and that he was going to find out the truth, Chanyeol went to Jinri's house. He hadn't been to her house a lot but he was familiar with it as they were usually partnered up in Chemistry class and so they usually went to each other's places to work on their chemistry labs.

Once he arrived to her house, he knocked a few times, waiting outside patiently. After several more knocks, his attempts were futile as the dark house clearly indicated that nobody was home.

Chanyeol sighed, about to leave until he heard what the neighbours said.

"Lets go see Jinri at the hospital. Poor girl missed a week of school because she tripped and fell down the stairs."

Chanyeol has never ran so fast.

As soon as he got to the hospital, Chanyeol went to the front desk to ask where Jinri’s's room was. Perhaps his heavy breathing, caused by his loss of breath after running so long, and serious- looking face scared the receptionist as she instantly told him the information, a look of fear in her eyes.

Chanyeol nodded as he ran to the room, walking inside the room without so much as a knock. His heart was hammering against his ribcage as he looked around, seeing Jinri on the hospital bed. She was ashen, her face resembling a white sheet of paper, contrasting greatly with the large scarlet bruises on her face.

The second Jinri noticed Chanyeol in her room, her eyes widened and face turned even paler, if possible. There was a strange look in her eyes as she looked at Chanyeol, something he had never seen before in her eyes, especially while she looked at him. It looked like... fear?

"C-chanyeol..." she stuttered, looking terrified, as if he was there to kill here.

"Jinri what happened? You missed school for a week and I didn't even know you were in the hospital. Also, how did you get those?" He questioned, his voice soft as he didn't want her to be even more scared than she already was.

"Chanyeol, I'm moving. I'm sorry, I'm moving to Canada," she said, completely avoiding all the questions thrown at her.

Chanyeol felt his heart drop. His eyes were burning as his breathing stopped for a second. It was completely silent as the two looked at each other, one looking guilty yet fearful while the other was completely devastated.

"What are you saying Jinri? What's going on? Why are you moving
