Champagne
Blessed BulletsWhen I sat one foot inside the town hall of Paris, I was met with a lot of people. Some were dancing, some were busy talking and some had turned their heads to see who had walked in, only to drop their mouth when they saw me. Honestly, I wouldn't blame them.
After I had gotten to the smith, I rode back home to change suits. I was now wearing a black suit with silk lapels and black shimmering shoes. On my stomach hung a round clock, in my -pocket was a very expensive handkerchief and my brown hair hung over my forehead. I looked marvellous.
The hall was quite a spectacle. Persian carpets and a huge diamond chandelier, on the walls were Japanese paintings. People nowadays loved the East.
A servant took my coat and hat and I entered the ball room. 'Would you like a drink, sir?' I nodded to the man and grabbed a glass of Champagne.
Piano music was playing, it was really upbeat and I wanted to dance too..
'Oh I'm so glad to see you here at this party.' The mayor came over to me, almost tripping. 'So how was your trip? Did you get here safely, no problems?' The man asked.
I chuckeled. 'Thank you Mayor. I got here safely, don't you worry. It always a pleasure to see Paris.' I lied. 'Now if you please would excuse me, I have to go and greet the others.' I smiled as I moved on.
In the distance was the president of France, Jules Grévy, I didn't know he would attend.
'Sir. Lee, over here.' I slowly turned around, only to be met with the head of the police of Paris, I had once co-operated with him.
He was the womaniser of the whole city, and he could do anything because he was the boss of the police. It disgusted me. But luckily he didn't know why I was here.
'So what are you doing here?' His smelly breath hit my nose, he really should eat something else other than fish. His green eyes matched his brown hair, I had to admit, he had a charming face, if only his breath wasn't that bad.
'I thought you were still chasing after birds.'
I chuckeled, god, how I wanted to slide his throat. 'I'm here for a business-trip.' Yes that was true, actually, that's what I wanted people to believe. Many people thought I was a business man, and for a part I was, I had shares but most of my incomes were tasks.
He laughed and hit my shoulder with his hand slightly. 'I have to go, enjoy the wine, it's it best year.' Champagne you mosquito. I was glad that he left.
I actually knew no one at t
