The thing about people is, you can’t really trust them. And the thing about trust is, it’s too complicated. One moment you met a person, all kind and perfect personality, and you really want to trust them with all your heart. But your heart tells you to doubt them, leaving you in a dilemma, whether to trust or not trust them. Trusting someone is too risky, but if you don’t trust the person, you also risk not having a good relationship with them. Once you trust a person, you risk being betrayed by him or her. And that’s what I hate the most; betrayal.

However, looking at the person sitting across me at this kitchen counter, I’m pretty sure this isn’t just about trusting or doubting.

“Can you please stop staring at me? I’m trying to eat.” He says, mouth full with the kimbap I made for dinner. Really, he’s making me feel as if I am the guest in this house when in fact I freaking own the house.

“I hope you choke with the kimbap.”

“Wow, what a way to treat a guest.”

So, sarcasm is our language now, huh?

“I don’t even consider you as a guest.” I keep my glare intense on him. “Man, I don’t even know your name. How can I treat you as one?”

Instead of making more sarcastic remarks, he ignores me and keeps on munching on his dinner. Rude, and ungrateful. What a great mix. Since I don’t know what else to say to him, I just keep watching him eating until the last bite. It’s really miraculous how his body is fit though he eats like a monster. I guess he just have a god given high level of metabolism.

“What is it that you want to know?”

Finally.

“Tell me everything that I need to know.” Eagerness is showing in my tone, but I try to keep it down. “What are you doing in the woods? Who are you? Why the hell did you bled ing silver liquid?”

“Zhang Yi Xing.” He replies.

“Excuse me?”

“My name. I’m Zhang Yi Xing. And…”

He suddenly stops talking and stares outside the window as if he just saw a ghost. I was just about to ask him what is it that he saw but he moves too quick and grabbed my hand. Dragging me all around the house, he turns off every switch he could find. I swear to god this person
