CHAPTER 56: Forgotten

"But .. Thank you is not enough."

The words Jonghyun said taking all of Hanna's attention. Not sure where Jonghyun directed the way, Hanna could only respond with an, "Uhm?"

He repeated slowly. "Because saying thank you is not enough, I miss you is not enough, I like you is not enough.. I say ‘I love you.’"

This time, Hanna was dumbstruck. She thought she was misheard the words Jonghyun saying. "Eoh??"

He repeated again. "I love you, Hanna.. Sorry I just say it now. Back then when you expressed your feelings to me, I stupidly asked you to bury them. At that time I was still afraid to be happy.. but now I realize, dad made me realize, that I shouldn’t be afraid to be happy .. I also deserved to be happy. And my happiness is to be with you, Hanna.." Jonghyun said it so fast and then he pulled something out of his backpack.

A box of a flower. The orange rose.

He handed that box of flower to Hanna but Hanna was still froze. She still didn’t believe what actually happened at the moment.

Seeing Hanna standing silently, Jonghyun explained, "I don’t know whether you like this flower or not. And I deliberately just bought a single flower and stored it in a box because I don’t want to trouble you to bring it. Ah, I’m so technical. I don’t know how to be romantic.” Jonghyun bent his head down, feeling embarrassed by his own action.

But then he looked up again, and stared at Hanna while saying, “But what I want to do with this flower is actually to convey my feeling. This flower means a first love. The florist said an orange rose means first love and you are my first love, Hanna. I want you to know.."

Hanna's heart was beating so fast, her legs was limp, the time seemed stop and only focused on Jonghyun holding a box of an orange rose.

Moreover when Jonghyun said, "Let’s date, Hanna ya...”

Let's d-date? Hanna asked in her mind. The thing she wanted the most back then now becoming true. But does she still wants the same?

Hanna stared at Jonghyun and she could see the sincerity in his eyes. Even though it could be seen that Jonghyun was kind of nervous, but he kept trying to smile. And his smile is always be Hanna's weakness. It reminded her how she fell for Jonghyun for the first time. It was because of his smile. The most beautiful smile in the world. And somehow that smile could make Hanna to take a step forward. She took the box of rose and nodded.

Seeing Hanna nodding her head, Jonghyun jumped out excitedly. "Really?? Y-you say yes, Hanna??"

"Yes, let's date." Hanna answered softly while hiding her blushing face.

Jonghyun was confused at how he should do to express his happy feeling. He moved forward but stopped in the middle, scratching his nape. But in the end, he pulled Hanna to his hug.

"Thanks, Hanna ya.." Jonghyun said it as he hugged Hanna tightly.

Didn't wait until sunset, Jonghyun and Hanna decided to go home. They took the bus to Seoul and sat next to each other again. But this time, they didn't only have a talk. This time, Jonghyun took Hanna's left hand and intertwined with his right hand. Hanna was beyond surprised with it. Holding Jonghyun's hand was only happened in her imagination before. But this time, seeing her hand intertwined with Jonghyun's, Hanna was speechless. She could hear the T-Rex in her stomach roaring happily.

Moreover when Jonghyun turned his head to say, "Hanna, if you feel sleepy, you can sleep on my shoulder."

Hanna couldn't help but to blush. "I-i'm not feeling sleepy.." She even stuttering.

"Really? Then, would you lend me your shoulder for me to sleep?"

Jonghyun's question surprised Hanna. "Uhm??"

Jonghyun grinned, "Actually I feel really sleepy.. Aaron hyung and I have chat till late night, so I'm feeling sleepy right now.."

"Oh.. sure.. You can rest your head.. o-on my shoulder.." Hanna was still stuttering.

That made Jonghyun smiling again. Then he rested his head on the left side of Hanna's shoulder.

Hanna's heart was beating so fast at the moment. Because they were so close. Hanna never felt this close with Jonghyun, except the night when he cried in her hug. But this time felt lighter, felt sweeter, and Hanna really liked it.

"Hanna.. Wake me up ten minutes later, okay?"

"Why ten minutes later?"

"I don't want to leave you alone. We should chat along the way, enjoying our times together."

Hanna smiled. "Doesn't this also the form of us enjoying our times together? Just sleep as long as you want, Jonghyun ah.."

Jonghyun smiled. "Aaah, this is really comfortable.." Jonghyun said that as he rested his head on Hanna's shoulder. That made Hanna blushing happily.

With her hands intertwined with Jonghyun's, with Jonghyun's head resting on her shoulder, Hanna looked outside the window and her lips couldn't help but to make its best curves.

Hanna was really happy.

The heavy traffic made the go back trip to Seoul felt longer, but that didn’t make Hanna and Jonghyun feel bored. They both talked about a lot of things. This day, Jonghyun was very bubbly. He was easy to smile and laugh. And Hanna really liked that.

Jonghyun is very cute. Hanna said to herself.

Upon arriving at Dobong-dong, it was already at night. Jonghyun initially only intended to take Hanna home, but Hanna held him. "You haven’t had dinner yet. Let’s eat dinner at my house, uhm?"

"No need, Hanna .. I've been giving you and your family a lot of trouble .." Jonghyun refused politely.

Hanna replied fast. "I don’t feel troubled at all.. Moreover you're now my ----" Hanna couldn’t finish her sentence.

Jonghyun was the one who finished it. "-- Boyfriend?"

"Yes, my boyfriend.” Hanna said it while blushing. “I don’t want my boyfriend to have dinner alone. So, what about having it with me?"

Jonghyun smiled. "Okay.."

Then they went inside Kwak residence with both of them blushing and smiling like a fool.

"Mom, dad, I'm home .." Hanna greeted her parents as soon as she opened the door.

"Why just go home? You got traffic jam?” Mrs. Kwak directly asked.

"Yeah, it's really bad traffic jam, mom... And we didn’t have dinner yet.. Is there something to eat?"

"It's on the dining room.. We just finished dinner. You guys just eat together." Mrs. Kwak told Hanna and Jonghyun.

"Yeay! Jonghyun ah, let's have dinner." Hanna invited him to the dining room.

But Jonghyun took a chance to apologize to Kwak parents. "I’m sorry Uncle, Auntie for always troubling you.."

"Ah, no .. What's troublesome? Just eat your dinner, Jonghyun ah..”

Hanna pulled Jonghyun's hand and invited him to eat in the dining room. Hanna deftly, took Jonghyun rice and give him chopsticks. They ate while smiling at each other.

After dinner, Jonghyun and Hanna went to the TV room to watch news with Hanna’s father. But sometimes Mr. Kwak initiated a conversation with Jonghyun, asking about their trip. Actually Jonghyun was confused if he should tell him about his confession to his daughter, but he decided not to do it.

But after that, Mr. Kwak asked, "Who is keeping you company at home today?"

"None, Uncle .."

"Oh? Is it okay if you're all alone at home?" Mr.Kwak asked in worry.

"It's okay, Uncle Kwak. That's just for today, because tomorrow I've started living in Choi family's residence."

Mrs. Kwak who just joined them was asking, "You’ll stay with Minki?"

"Yeah, Minseok hyung's room happens to be empty, so I'll occupy it until he comes back." Answered Jonghyun.

But Mrs. Kwak gave a crazy idea. "Tonight, you sleep here, just take Hanna's room."

That made Hanna choking up her drinks.

"Of course not with Hanna.” Mrs. Kwak added her words in hurry. “Hanna can sleep with Grace."

"Aaah, it's okay, Auntie .. I’ll sleep at home." Jonghyun still politely refused.

"It isn’t about ghosts or thieves, Jonghyun ah. We're more worried about your feelings. Being alone there, we're afraid you'll grieve again, so just stay here.. I allow." Mr. Kwak supported his wife’s idea.

And that made Jonghyun glancing at Hanna and Hanna nodded. So, Jonghyun surrendered. "Ah, well ... thanks Uncle, Auntie."

Time ran fast, and it was the time to sleep. Hanna fetched Aaron’s shirt and pants and lent it to Jonghyun. Hanna has also changed her outfit to casual clothes. Then she took Jonghyun to her room.

"Woah, I think this is the first time I've been in your room again since junior high .." said Jonghyun as soon as he stepped in to Hanna’s room.

"Yeah, you're so busy you never coming here anymore .." replied Hanna.

Hanna felt a bit nervous. How not, Jonghyun's status is no longer a friend or bestfriend but a boyfriend for her. So getting him to her room made her feel awkward.

And it wasn’t only Hanna who felt it, Jonghyun too. "Hanna, if your parents know we're dating, will they still allow me to stay here?"

"Why don’t they? We.. we're not sleeping in the same room anyway. So, that's all right." Answered Hanna blushingly.

"Yes .. well .. Should we tell them about us? "

"NO! Not Today. Let’s skip tonight without them knowing our relationship."

Jonghyun giggled. "All right .. You know, Hanna .. To be honest I'm so happy to be given a chance to stay here..  Somehow I feel closer to you."

He said it softly and it made Hanna more blushing. "W-what are you talking about?"

"Don’t think anything weird, Hanna ... I mean, I can know the smell of your room, how you put your things, what books you have, etc. I feel more acquainted with you."

Hann chuckled. "You've known me since childhood, Jonghyun ah .."

"Yeah.. It's just that I feel like I'm wasting a lot of time doing something else without you in it. I feel regret, why didn’t we be together like this since a long time ago?"

"Hey, no need to regret it. We're together now. That's the most important." Hanna ended it with a smile.

And Jonghyun naturally smiled too. "Yeah .."

"Okay then .. good night, Jonghyun ah .." Hanna said it sweetly.

Jonghyun her hair gently and said, "Good night, Hanna .. sleep tight .."

Hanna couldn’t help but to blush. She bet her cheek might be as red as cherry tomato at the moment. In order to control her overflowing happy feeling, she excused herself. Hanna closed her bedroom door and went to Grace's room. She jumped onto the bed and suddenly hugged Grace. "Graaace, don’t you know? Unnie’s dreams come true now! Aaaah, unnie is so happy, Grace!"

"Unnie, let me go, I can’t breathe !!"

At the same time in Hanna's room, Jonghyun didn’t sleep right away. He sat on the edge of the bed, looking around the room. The orange-painted room looked quite simple for a young girl's room. Hanna isn’t the type of narcissistic girls who put many pictures of herself in the room. There was only one picture, it’s even her picture together with her choir group during last year's regional competition. And on the right side and left, the photo was accompanied by Sailor Venus poster as well as her favorite Dream High drama poster. In addition, there was only full body sized mirror and also some cosmetics. Hanna isn’t the type of girl who often wear make up. Jonghyun ever saw Hanna when waking up and he thought she looked even cuter.

Though the books in Hanna's room aren’t as many as Jonghyun's, but Jonghyun liked to see them stored neatly on the shelves near the desk. But there was one book that caught his eyes. The orange-covered book, Jonghyun knew that it's a photo album.

He knew if Hanna likes to collect photos that she thinks memorable in his life. Once, Hanna had shown the album to Dobong-dong kids, but she didn’t show it anymore recently. Jonghyun opened it slowly. The first photo is a photo of Hanna when she was a baby.
