CHAPTER 50: Destiny

“Hanna ya, help me to stand up .."

"Huh?” Hanna couldn’t believe what Minhyun asking her to do. Why’d suddenly he act like a little kid?

But Hanna had no other choice, she tried to pull Minhyun's hand to help him standing up. "You're heavy, Nyeon .." Lamented Hanna when she was not strong enough to pull Minhyun's body to stand up.

Minhyun still tried to play. He even said, "Pull with more force, Hanna .."

Hish, he's deliberately playing with me. Hanna said in her mind. But in reality she added her strength to pull Minhyun's hand and succeed. Minhyun was already standing in front of her, unfortunately the power that she used excessively making her body imbalanced.

"Ah!"

Hanna almost fell back if Minhyun didn’t catch her. Minhyun nimbly caught Hanna's almost fallen body. The action accidentally made Minhyun like hugging Hanna, even made their nose brushing each other.

Minhyun's left arm supported Hanna's waist, their faces now only a few centimeters away. And it made them silent.

Hanna didn’t expect Minhyun's childish behavior would end up making them in this kind of position. Hanna never looked at Minhyun this close. And somehow she got stunned. She couldn't help but to look at Minhyun's eyes. She just noticed for the first time that Minhyun's eyes is deep dark brown rather than black. As Hanna was lost in Minhyun’s eyes, Minhyun was staring back at her. His gaze was really intense yet alluring. And in the next second, his gaze slipped lower. He leaned forward, getting closer to Hanna’s face. And slowly, his lips had touched hers. Hanna was beyond surprised by his actions. But she couldn't do anything than standing froze.

Hanna could feel Minhyun's lips on hers. The caress of his lips was softer than she could have ever imagined. But it was strong enough to send a huge sensation to her entire body. As they got closer and closer, Hanna couldn't deny that she fell in love with Minhyun's scent. It's like a drug to her, making her addicted, so that she naturally closed her eyes, letting Minhyun to give more pressure on her lips.  

But as Hanna started enjoying the kiss, Minhyun suddenly pushed away as if he'd been burned. Hanna automatically opened her eyes and saw Minhyun's shocking face. With that, reality hit her too.

What have I done?? "AAARRGGH!!" Hanna couldn't hold herself to scream as she realized that she just have a kiss with Minhyun, her own best friend.

Without waiting for Minhyun's explanation, Hanna ran out of the court. She ran so fast to her house, leaving Minhyun who was still standing in confuse. He wanted to chase Hanna but his feet didn't move. Did I just kiss Hanna?? He asked himself in disbelieve.

Hanna sprinted to her house, and as she entered the house, she walked pass her parents who were watching TV and went right to her room. She locked it and directly plopped her body on the bed, burying her head on the pillow. What have I done?? Gosh! Did I just kiss Minhyun?? Hwang Minhyun?? My best friend since I was eight??

Hanna rolled her body to face the ceiling. Then the moment when they kissed flashing in her mind. Oooh!! She directly covered her face, feeling embarrassed.

And then she slowly touched her lips. Did Minhyun just kiss me?

She remembered how soft Minhyun’s lips when it pressed hers. Why'd he suddenly kiss me? Does.... he like me?

Hanna froze not long before she shook her head. Ah! What are you thinking, Hanna??! It's impossible Minhyun like you. No, please no.

But then she touched her upper chest where her heart placed. Why does my heart beat so fast right now? Yah Kwak Hanna! What are you thinking?! He's your best friend!

As Hanna was debating with herself in her room, Minhyun was standing at the outside of her house, staring at the window in Hanna’s room. Minhyun started pacing back and forth with his hands on his hips. Should I explain what happened? But how should I explain the kiss?? It's just naturally happened.

It wasn’t planned for real. Minhyun just wanted to ease the tension between them with playing around. He never imagined it would end up like this. Oh God, what have you done Hwang Minhyun?!

Didn't have guts to see Hanna yet, Minhyun decided to go home. There inside his room, he was still thinking about what he should do next.

“I'll meet her tomorrow for sure, but what should I tell her?” Minhyun talked to himself.

“Hanna, I'm sorry about yesterday..” He acted like he was meeting Hanna, but then he snapped himself.  “Ah No. If I say it like that it sounds I regret the kiss, when actually I'm not. NOT AT ALL.”

Minhyun smiled at himself. “I like the kiss. SUPER LIKE the kiss.” The memory of him kissing Hanna was flashing in his mind. He touched his lips as he mumbled. “Her lips are so tender and sweet..”

Minhyun smiled foolishly before he snapped himself. “Hish, what are you thinking Hwang Minhyun!! Aaarrgh, how should I tell her, really??”

Hanna has woken up and went to the bathroom. As she wanted to wash her face, she saw her reflection in the mirror. She naturally touched her lips and her mind suddenly ran to the time Minhyun kissed her (again for the multiple times, lol). She could still feel the sensation after the kiss. But then she brushed away the thought and sighed. What would you do when you meet her, Kwak Hanna??

Meanwhile Minhyun has also just woken up. He was still lying on his bed reminiscing his dream. He dreamt of Hanna accepting his feeling and replied his confession with a passionate kiss. He couldn’t help but to giggle. Ooooh, I wish it was true.

Then he sat on the bed and told himself, "I think it is a sign. Yeah, I should confess. The kiss has just happened and the right thing to do next is confessing. This is the time. This is your time, Hwang Minhyun!"

He jumped off the bed and excitedly prepared himself to meet Hanna.

Minhyun couldn’t help himself not to smile this entire morning until his mom commented, “You two look contrast.” 

It made Minhyun and Sujin, who were enjoying their breakfast, looked at each other.

Minhyun observed Sujin. She already looked gloomy for the past days, but Minhyun didn’t have guts to ask her why. Meanwhile Sujin was too reserve, she never tell her private things to her younger brother.  

Both Minhyun and Sujin finished their breakfast in silent. The encounter with Sujin at least give Minhyun time to control his expression before meeting Hanna. He might have looked so foolish if he directly went out. So before going out his house, Minhyun took a deep breath. But when he opened the gate, turned out Hanna wasn't there. There were only Jonghyun and Minki. Maybe she hasn't come out. Minhyun thought.

But then Minki told him, "Let's just go to Dongho.."

"Huh? What about Hanna?" Minhyun asked in confuse.

"She already leave." Minki answered shortly.

It surprised Minhyun. "What?? W-why?"

"I don't know.. Her mom told me that she went to school early.. Maybe she has something to do." Minki explained.

But it made Minhyun chuckle. This girl seriously..

Reaching school, Minhyun passed by Hanna's class and saw her, resting her head on the table while looking outside through the window. She has nothing to do, she's just avoiding me. Minhyun concluded before laughing.

Minhyun thought that he will meet Hanna at lunch, but turned out she missed it too.

"Where's Hanna?" Jonghyun asked Minki before Minhyun could ask.

"She's in the school clinic." Minki answered shortly as he put the napkin on the table across Jonghyun.

When Minhyun wanted to ask, Dongho was taking over. "Is she sick?"

This time Namjoo was the one who answered, "She told us that she's in her period. Menstrual cramps."

"Aaaah.." the boys nodding.

But Minhyun didn't buy the reason. It must be a lie, tsk. Seriously Kwak Hanna, do you really want to avoid me?

Minhyun then decided to visit Hanna at the school clinic. He met the nurse on the way to go there. "Oh, Mrs. Lee.. Is Hanna still at the clinic?"

Mrs. Lee looked surprise to see Minhyun but then she nodded. "Yeah, do you want to visit her?"

Minhyun nodded.

"Good, please accompany her while I'm gone. I have to meet my friend for a moment. This is urgent." She said, half-begging.

"Oh.. okay.." Minhyun nodded again.

“Thank you.” Mrs. Lee said before leaving Minhyun.

Minhyun then continued to go to the school clinic and found Hanna. She was laying on the bed, eyes opened like thinking about something.

Minhyun approached her. "Hanna ya, are--"

Even when Minhyun haven't finished his words, Hanna was already startled. "Omo!"

She sat on the bed and glared at Minhyun. "Hish, you startles me."

Minhyun smiled. "Are you okay?"

Seeing Minhyun smiling sweetly to her, Hanna bent her head down. "I'm okay. It's just.. Period cramps.."

Minhyun chuckled. "Don't lie. I know you never have period cramps before."

With that, Hanna looked up and gave a questioning looks to Minhyun. "How could you even know??"

Minhyun smiled proudly. "I know everything about you, Hanna."

Shoot. The arrow has just shoot right in Hanna’s heart. Why'd you have to start again, Hwang Minhyun???

There was silent for a moment until Minhyun started to work on his confession. "Mmm.  About last night---"

But even with the mention of last night, Hanna directly jumped off the bed and covered Minhyun's lips.

"What will you say?? The nurse might hear us." Hanna shot the words firmly but in a low tone.

Meanwhile Minhyun was dumbstruck. Having skinship again with Hanna wasn't his agenda for today.

As he stood silent, Hanna has just realized that she did a skinship with Minhyun. How her fingers touched the lips that just kissed hers last night. Hanna directly pulled her fingers off Minhyun's lips and bent her head down, feeling regret over her silly action.

Minhyun tried to control his heartbeat while telling Hanna, "Don't worry, the nurse isn't here."

Hanna was silent, didn't know how to respond it.

Minhyun continued, this time he lower his tone. "I want to explain about--"

"That's okay." Hanna directly cut his words. "T-that's okay.. I.. I know that it's only because of hormone. Yes, the kiss happened just because your hormones. T-that's pretty normal. Since I'm uhm.. finding myself liking your scent. That's.. that's also because of hormones. So I understand." Hanna was stuttering.

Minhyun smiled. "But that's not--"

"I said I understand, Nyeon! Don't bring this up again. It got me dizzy." told Hanna in a higher tone. She couldn’t hold her emotion anymore.

But Minhyun even smiled again as he said, "You're cute.."

"Ah, really!!!" Hanna looked so frustrated as she left Minhyun who was then giggling by himself.

As Hanna walked out the clinic. She muttered as she rubbed her face in frustration, “What did he want to tell me? Gosh, I'm dizzy.. really dizzy now.”
