It's unfair
You & I | VKookTaehyung followed the angry male out of school. It was still some classes left, but the human didn’t seemed to have cared. He was walking - nearly running - to the playground they had spent so much happy time together, although Taehyung didn’t know whether he knew he was following or not.
Right before he was about to call out his name, he suddenly started speaking. “Hyung,” he muttered, “it’s so unfair.”
Taehyung approached closer to him, walking around him to face him. The sight nearly caught him off guard as he saw the human’s tears roll down his cheeks. “Jungkookie,” he spoke softly.
Jungkook didn’t meet his gaze and rather kept it locked at the ground between them. “It’s so unfair,” he repeated.
“What’s unfair?” Taehyung asked, trying to read him, but he just couldn’t. Jungkook was too unpredictable for him - he had been ever since they first met.
“You leaving,” he sniffed, “I don’t want you to leave. I don’t want my best friend to leave.” He stopped for a moment and met his eyes, “I just don’t want you to leave.”
His eyes kept tearing up, and all the angel could do was to dry his tears away. “I’m so sorry I’ve brought this pain upon you Jungkookie,” he apologised, “I’d never want to hurt you. You’re an amazing person, and all you care for is not being hurt, and I understand that. But when I’m gone, please don’t go and spit people in their faces, okay?” he giggled, trying to make the other smile as well.
“Everyone just makes me feel so pissed,” he grunted, earning a playful glare from the angel.
“Now don’t talk like that. Imagine if everyone around you was me. Would you still hate everyone? Would you still glare at them, trying to make them all avoid you and go away?”
Jungkook stared at him, slightly amazed. “I’ve never thought of that,” he admitted, blushing slightly.
“I just want you to have a better life Jungkookie,” Taehyung said, “I can’t be with you for much longer, but I want you to get friends here, to be happy. Promise me you’ll try.”
Jungkook was tearing up, staring at the angel. “I - I promise,” he whispered. He took a step closer, staring right into his eyes, and when they barely had space between each other, Jungkook had leaned in and kissed him on the lips.
The angel was so taken aback he neither kissed back nor backed away. He never imagined Jungkook would kiss him, but what confused him more was the reason behind it.
“Jungkookie,” he started, “did you just-”
“I’ll miss you Taehyung hyung,” he said with a breaking voice, “I’ll never forget you or what you’ve taught me.” And with that, he turned around as he walked into the cafeteria as it was lunch. Taehyung didn’t follow, and rather just stood close by, keeping an eye out for his human, and another angel.
“He’s still crying?” a voice suddenly said behind the jumpy angel, gobsmacking him enough to jump slightly from the ground.
“Seokjin sunbaenim,” Taehyung sighed, “it’s not the same reason as yesterday.”
“No matter the reason, he should be happy, don’t you agree?” he scolded.
“Of course,” Taehyung agreed, “I want him to be happy all the time.”
“Then do your job, Taehyung.”
Taehyung couldn’t help but to stare at him. “But, sunbaenim-” he started, about to ask if he was banned from Earth or not, but the elder interrupted him.
“No buts Taehyung, make your human happy, and succeed your mission, or else I’ll come again, and you’ll get your punishment.” He had disappeared again before Taehyung co
