Stupidity

Girl meets Boy

"I remember you now..." I said, feeling a peculiar uncertainty seeding in the pit of my stomach, I eyed him carefully as he flounced his way to the food he'd prepared, "don't get angry at my parents for not providing you with top quality food," I warned, crossing my arms over my chest, puffing it out as if I was older than him. He turned around all of a sudden with serious eyes.

"Ya! You not speak to oppa like that," as he paced forward at an alarming speed I felt myself shuffling back into the storeroom with him following after.

"What's an 'oppa' exactly?" I asked with innocent eyes (because I genuinely had no idea).

"It two meanings..." he started, he held up one finger, "cheosbeonjjae, you can say to older brother if you girl," he smirked holding up a second finger, "2 beon," he bent down and whispered in my ear, "use to flirt with boy who not related," with every word he said, I felt it shiver through my whole body.

"Geez Seokjin!" I pushed him away lightly, "I'm not flirting with you for starters, and I don't intend to either!" With that I stormed out of the storeroom, grabbing the plates of food, making my way out to the bustling cafe.

The hours flew by and soon it was closing time. My parents went upstairs to get ready for bed whilst I stayed in the cafe area and cleaned up. Seokjin hadn't left yet, so god knows what he would come up with before he left. Hopefully I should be able to vacate upstairs, avoiding him completely; but of course my luck was out... permanently.

"Eunsol right?" Jin's voice sounded behind me. Even though I was expecting him to say something sooner or later, his sudden appearance still shocked me. I could hear him giggle at my action, so I turned around and scowled at him. He came over to me, putting one of his hands on my shoulder, "sorry earlier..." he bent down to my eye level, "but I know you call me oppa soon," with a wink he departed the shop and went down the street

"For goodness sake!" I yelled, "why does every guy I meet have to be so irritatingly cute?!" Groaning, I finish cleaning up the tables and shutting the blinds in the shop before departing to bed, having the thought of tomorrow's events niggling in the back of my head.

I painfully got up the next morning, dreading the horrifying early start to my day and what lay ahead. Yet again I had to endure the annoyance of my short skirt which dug into my hips

With time to spare, I figured I'd experiment with my makeup, putting on a very light shade of eyeshadow in my creases with a soft application of lipgloss (I noticed that many Korean girls liked to put lipgloss on, whether that be for a special reason or just general fashion I don't know...).

"Come down for your coffee dear," I heard my mum shout. She sounded like she wanted to say something else, so I waited at the top of the stairs...

"Darling, I think there's someone at the door."

"Huh?" Who could possibly be at the door?

"Oh my... erm, annyeonghaseyo," I heard my mum stutter, "come in, come in."

"Geez, here she goes again, stuttering," I muttered tiredly to myself. Yawning I made my way downstairs, somewhat eager to find out who could possibly be here so early

As I reached the shop floor, I noticed a familiar mop of blonde/brown hair sitting at one of the tables. Could it be...?

"Hannah, this young gentlemen says that he's here to take you to school," she raised her eyebrow suggestively and I grumbled in response, lightly hitting her arm, "have a nice day dear," she finished in a frilly tone, bounding up the stairs. I sighed and walked towards Taehyung, sitting down opposite him with my coffee.

I looked at him in an unamused fashion, "what are you doing here?"

"Aish, Eunsol-ah; why so grumpy?!" He whined, scrunching up his face cutely. Seriously, he knows how to get my heart fluttering!

"I've just woken up," my eyelids slid over half my eyeball, making it appear as if I was giving him a death stare. I sipped at my coffee after giving him a long glare.

"Eunsol! You scary now," Taehyung cowered behind his cup, awaiting my laughter. But none came, I just looked up at him with tired eyes. He smiled sheepishly, following that with a drawn out laugh. Ah, it's gone so awkward now...

"Eunsol-ah..." Taehyung started.

"Yes?" I responded bluntly.

"Your real name not Eunsol yeah?" My heart suddenly tightened for no reason whatsoever.

I looked up at him, seeing that there was no point in lying. I sighed and nodded, "no, I had it changed by a kind old lady," I smiled at the memory two days ago when the friendly woman decided my Korean name

"What is it?"

"Hannah Worthy," I smiled shyly, taking another sip from my cup.

"Pwetty name..." Taehyung sighed, "me like English names, more expwessive."

I couldn't help but laugh at his lisp like baby tone when he pronounced some of the words

"Mwo?!" He wailed, pounding his fists on the table. God why is he so annoying sometimes?!

I abruptly reached over and stopped him from his childish behaviour by grabbing his hands, "stop," I looked into his eyes as his hands relaxed under mine. His eyes became orb like when I kept my hands there, constantly averting his eyes from my hands to my eyes. I guessed he felt uncomfortable so I was about to pull away.

"No!" He stated moodily and grabbed my hands instead, intertwining our fingers, "it cute like this."

My heart was pounding against my rib cage as I noticed his long fingers in between mine. My third day here and I'm already feeling like this towards someone?! Hannah, pull yourself together!

"T-Taehyung, we should go to school..." I laughed awkwardly and carefully unravelled our fingers, taking one last gulp of coffee. His face looked sad, and his bottom lip popped out when I got up from my chair.

"Aw come on man! Don't give me your childish cuteness and get your off the chair!" I said this playfully, but he was still taken by surprise. He probably didn't understand half those words I said, so I huffed and lifted him off, clutching his wrists and barging out of the shop door.

"Ya, ya! Eunsol-ah!" He wailed behind me, "I catch up," I felt him tugging his hands out of my grasp, walking beside me and finally clasping my hand as if it were normal. My cheeks flushed a light shade of red as people looked at us happily, or disgustedly

"T-Taehyung, let go of my hand," I tried pulling my hand back to my side, but he kept a firm grip on it.

"Hehe, no!" His adorable low toned giggle was enough to release a whole flock of butterflies in my stomach. I looked up at him and saw his adorable box smile, which would never fail to make me grin in awe.

"You pwetty today," he said whilst looking around.

"You think?" I smiled to myself, proud that my extra makeup did attract some positive attention. I felt him staring down at me, so I looked up, "what?"

"Hm..." his groan sounded frustrated, but he changed his expression quickly into a smile, "nothing!"

There was no point in trying to convince Taehyung to let go of my hand, because he'd just hold onto it tighter and pull me closer, which would make the situation worse.

In front of us, we saw the school and in unison let out a heaved sigh. Both looking at each other we laughed at our exact same reaction and walked into the school

"You can let go of my hand now..." I hissed up at him.

"Wae?"

"We're in school now... it'll be embarrassing," I quickly dragged my hand out of his grasp and walked off.

"Ya!" I heard him shout. I giggled to myself and made my way to the first lesson.

School ended reasonably. Fortunately there were no stuck up girls to harass me... unfortunately, there was no music or dance class today; so I didn't see much of Taehyung or Jimin, only at break and lunch; but I guess that was enough

"The joys..." I sighed, stepping outside of the school stretching, "I now have to work with Seokjin, and form a headache with his irrational conversations along with the unbearable noise of people!" I groaned and flopped my head down.

"Eunsol-ah!" Three male voices shouted to me, all in three different octaves. I looked up and saw Taehyung, Jimin and Jungkook bounding towards me.

"Ah great; the children have come," I prepared myself as they all huddled around me.

"We coming to cafe today!" Jimin said with a beaming smile on his face.

"You are? Oh... ah, fantastic..." I sighed in a disheartened tone that they didn't seem effected by. Will I ever get some peace?

"We bringing hyungs too!" Taehyung said giddily, "I sit with you right?"

"Ya! Tae, I sit her!" Jimin said in his appalling English. They both started bickering in Korean and I decided to zone out.

"Remember, you be pretend girlfriend," Jungkook's voice whispered in my ear. I froze as I felt his arms creep around my waist.

"Ah, ahhhhh Jungkook!" I wail, swivelling around, grabbing his arms and placing them at his side. He looked a little sad, so I made it up by saying, "not in public sweety," I pinched his cheek as he giggled like a little boy. Geez why can't they act their age?!

"Ya! Eunsol-ah, we see you later!" Taehyung called, leaving with Jimin, gesturing for Jungkook to follow. I nodded and smiled, waving them goodbye. Thank goodness Taehyung was too busy arguing with Jimin to notice what Jungkook was doing

I sighed in relief before setting off back to the cafe, my mind wandering about what the three boys' 'hyungs' were like. I still had no idea what 'hyung' meant, but I chose not to dwell on it and carried on walking peacefully, absorbing all the shops and parks I walked past.
