Surprises

Girl meets Boy

Every muscle in my body froze as he said that. My heart had suddenly worked its way up my throat as no sound could escape my lips. Jungkook's face remained hopeful as his hands were still clutching to my shoulders.

"W-What f-for?" I stuttered, managing to utter some form of sound out of my mouth.

"Ahh, I have explain?" He asked in a winging manner. I nodded my head ferociously, still stunned from his abrupt question, wanting to desperately know his reason. There should be a good reason right?

"Just for day," he said, gently sliding his hands down my arm, finding my hands, "for hyungs."

"For hyungs?" I asked, wondering what that meant.

"You see, I bring them to cafe tomorrow?" He asked, looking deep into my eyes whilst holding my hands. I coughed slightly, not sure on what my answer should be. How can I pretend to go out with him when he's friends with Taehyung and Jimin? How will that make me look? Especially when it's my first couple of days here?!

My thoughts were zooming in all different directions, and I couldn't focus.

"Noona!" Jungkook wailed, tugging at my hands, "just day!" He kept on wriggling my arms about, and I was getting seriously frustrated.

"FINE!" I snapped, tensing my arms to stop them moving around. His eyes widened in shock as I pulled him closer, "I'll be your part time girlfriend," as I said that, Jungkook's breath started quickening, and I could feel his face closing in on mine. I stayed put, raising my eyebrows, preparing myself for the worst as he had a strong grip on my hands, not allowing me to move.

My phone suddenly started ringing, interrupting the intense moment. I could only just hear Jungkook's disappointed sigh as he stepped back, letting me take the call.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Darling, it's mum. Please come back quickly, the cafe is overflowing with people and I need someone's help!" Mum's desperate voice exclaimed through the phone. In the background I could hear the loud buzz of people.

"Okay, I'll be right back!" I exclaimed and hung up, "sorry Jungkook, I really should be going now; see you later," I was about to walk away, but he grabbed my waist all of a sudden. My heart stopped. I slowly peered down at his hands around my waist, my cheeks turning a crimson red.

"J-Jungkook!" I gasped, trying to wriggle out of his grasp.

"Girlfriend give me kiss goodbye!" He said childishly.

"I'm only your pretend girlfriend!"

"Need to act!" He stuck his head closer to mine, as if waiting for my apparent kiss.

"No," I said bluntly, turning my head away. I heard him grumble, I looked at him, seeing a childish paddy growing in his eyes (I don't know how I could tell, but it was apparent that he wasn't happy).

"Fine, I do it," before I could object he pecked me on the cheek. In that split second, I blocked out every other sense I had as the softness of his lips press against my skin, "annyeong!" He let me go, waving me goodbye.

After he left, I circled my right cheek with my finger, finally placing all of my hand on that area, contemplating if the action he made was good or bad. I felt slightly taken aback, however there were no butterflies in my stomach as I'd expected... I wonder why.

Managing to find my way back to the cafe, I found that I was bombarded with a cacophony of laughter, coughing, sneezing and loud voices.

"What the hell..." I muttered, weaving through the heave of people that were crowding every single table.

"Ah! Hannah!" I heard my mum shout from behind the counter, "I've left your outfit on your bed, get changed quickly!"

I speedily jogged up the stairs, chucking my bag on the floor and changing into the outfit.

"Since when did we design a t-shirt?" I lifted up the t-shirt, seeing the name 'Café Bene Place' imprinted on it in a fancy style, "even an apron and a cap?!" I exclaimed, alarmed at the dramatic progress of our business, "cute I guess..." that was until I looked at the skirt, "maybe not."

Lifting the skirt up, I could feel my eyes growing larger, "why do all of my skirts have to be short?!" I sighed angrily, quickly stamping my feet on the floorboards.

"Darling, hurry up and get changed, the cook will need someone to take the food and serve it," my dads voice suddenly came outside of my door.

"I thought you were the cook dad?" I said, puzzled.

"A young man came in after you left for school and asked if we needed a cook, so of course we accepted him!" My dad smiled before going downstairs, looking surprisingly smart in his outfit.

"Young man?" I questioned myself, scratching beneath my chin. I shrugged my shoulders and got changed, despite me detesting the skirt length. I could just barely fit into the god damn thing it was that slick against my thighs, "geez, who even wears this type of thing?" I twirled around in the mirror stiffly, inspecting the appalling sight I beheld of myself.

"Urgh, nothing I can do I guess," huffing, I tied my hair up, slipping the cap on, threading the pony tail through the gap at the back and made my way down to the stuffy shop floor.

"Go get the food from the cook!" My mum shouted whilst serving a couple.

"Where do I go?" I shouted back.

"Through that door!" She pointed behind the counter where a door stood ajar. I made my way in that direction and entered the kitchen where the strong smell of... food lingered.

"Hello?" I said, walking around a table cluttered with various utensils.

"Dish up soon!" I heard a voice come from further away. In the storeroom? I thought to myself. I made my way to the other door, opening it, seeing a tall man standing there, reaching up for something. He looked at me when he heard I'd entered. The face was scarily familiar, and I think he recognised me, as a small smile stretched across his face. Now where have I seen those puppy eyes and plump lips? It was frustratingly annoying that I couldn't grasp where I'd seen this man before.

"You look familiar..." I said, placing a hand on my hip with a furrowed brow.

He laughed slightly, walking up to me intimidatingly, "you no remember?" I shook my head, looking up at him with big eyes. I know I've seen this guy before!

He cupped his hands around my face and drew his closer, "take look," he was searching my eyes, as if expecting me to remember with somehow looking at him from a closer perspective.

"How will I remember you just by bringing your face closer?" I questioned, raising one of my eyebrows. He sighed and giggled, bringing his hands to his side, "I see..." he looked down and laughed again. He suddenly wrapped his arm around my waist, "I should be only one do this for your first couple days."

This feels familiar, the same grip, the same feel. God damn it, who was he?!

We stood there for a few seconds as I thought deeply.

"If I haven't seen you today it must've been yesterday..." I mumbled to myself, "first it was Namjoon, then I went to the shop, and then... ahhhhh!" I gasped suddenly, leaping out of the guy's grip, "you're the one who threw something in my face at the supermarket!"

He smiled and nodded.

"But why are you here? Why are you my shop's cook?!"

"I offer, I like cooking," he tilted his head slightly, widening his smile, "I Kim Seokjin!"
