I drive up to the hospital where Seul Tae works. My thoughts kept eating at me. Should I really let him make it up to me? I thought just as I saw Seul Tae come out of the hospital with Youngjae in tow. I just watched as she giggled, smiled, and waved bye to him. I watched as my sister walked and got into the car.

I raised my eyebrow at her, “Youngjae?”

Seul Tae blushed in response.

“So what happened?” I asked and Seul Tae spilled everything that happened after we hung up the phone.

“Ah.” I said and paused before continuing, “Well if he hurts you I hurt him.” Then I took a quick glance at her, “Let him know that.”

Seul Tae let out a giggle. “I will.”

"Soooooooo."

Seul Tae gave me a look, “Hmmm?”

"Remember when I said you would tell me if I did something stupid or crazy."

"Yeah?"

I bit my lip. “Well I think I did.” I paused. “Something stupid.”

Looking up from her phone, she gave me a look. "Define.....stupid."

"Umm potentially could be really dangerous."

"Please explain before I say something." She responded.

"I got stood up and criticized by Eunmi’s boyfriend. I walked around and went to Han River well Eunmi gave the dude my number." I explained.

"Look at my texts on my phone." I grabbed my phone and handed it to her. "You will be able to tell who it is."

Seul Tae took the phone from my hand and went to the text messages.

As she was reading the text messages, I let a long ‘Soooooo’.

“He seems nice little Sis.” She put my phone down in the cup holder. “And at least he apologized.”

“I know. I just..” I bit my lip. “It’s not totally crazy right? Like I’m not making a huge mistake am I?”

“You should really give him a chance Sis.” She paused. “What are you afraid of?”

A ton of things unnie. Especially since I don’t feel good enough, like I’m never good enough. Looks. Everything. Just never good enough. I thought. “The judgmental looks and not being good enough ever or not having the appropriate look.” Not sure why looks really matter. I just want to be accepted for me.

Seul Tae smiled. “Just give him a chance Sis. He really seems like the guy that would appreciate you just the way you are.”

“I know I’m just hoping I’m not being stupid.” I really hope I’m not, I thought as we arrived at the house.

We walked in and I went to my room. My mom saw me and knew something was wrong. My dad put a hand on her shoulder. “She’ll be fine dear. It will all turn out okay. I can feel it.”

She gave him a look. “Says the person who told her I guess you can go.”

“Mom, Dad’s right. I have a good feeling to that it will work out.” Seul Tae chimed in as she walked upstairs.

I heard them as I shut the door and laid on the bed with a sigh. I then grabbed my phone out of my pocket. Looking through the text messages again, I noticed a new text message that I hadn’t read. “Seul Tae why didn’t you tell me.” I mumbled to myself.

After getting dressed, I walked downstairs to Mom cooking, Dad sitting down talking to Mom.

Dad saw me and said, “Morning Sang Eun.”

“Morning Dad, Morning Mom.” I replied as I sat down.

It was silent for a moment, before my Mom asked, “So what happened with the date?”

“He didn’t show and Eunmi’s boyfriend basically said next time I can tell you how to dress to impress him. I told him off and walked away.”

“Good, but I know there is more.” Dad said giving me a look.

I bit my lip. “They gave him my number and he text me sorry and that he wanted to make it up to me.”

“Did you agree?” Mom asked.

I nodded my head. “I feel stupid, but I did. We text for a while before I went to bed and then again this morning. I’m honestly just afraid it’s not going to go well.”

“Sang Eun ah.” Dad started. I looked at him and he continued. “Any guy would be stupid not to at least get to know you. And normally blind dates don’t try to make contact to make it up.” He put his hand on mine. “It’s okay to be afraid, but don’t be afraid to try.” He leaned back in his chair. “You’re not stupid Sang Eun for agreeing. Besides I have a good feeling about it. It’s going to be fine.”

“I have a good feeling about it to Sis.” Seul Tae added as she walked into the kitchen and sat down.

“I hope so.” I said as mom put breakfast on the table.

“Alright. Lets eat.” Mom stated as she sat down.

After eating I went back to my room to try to decide what to wear.  What would I normally wear? I thought as I looked at my closet. I grabbed some clothes that would be simple and most of all me. It was too early to get ready, so I took a glance at what I had planned for my students. Making sure that I had everything done and graded that I need to beforehand, especially before class.

Before I knew it was five thirty and I finally decided that it was time to get ready. I took a shower, fixed my hair, got dressed, put a little bit of make up on, and eyed myself in the mirror. This will be okay right?

Seul Tae came into the bathroom and nodded her head. “You look great Sis. You especially look like yourself. “

My eyes darted down to what I was wearing, black ripped skinny jeans, a black tank top, a plaided button up shirt with a few buttons undone, my hair just straight and down, and my make up is just mascara and eyeliner. I smiled. She is right. I do look like myself.

I suddenly bit my lip again. “You sure it will be okay?”

“Sis he did say to be yourself right?” She said and I nodded my head. She went up behind me and hugged me. Smiling at me through the mirror. “Then it will be okay. You look like yourself and I’m sure you will act like yourself.” She then turned me around and looked at me. “Besides he’s the one that said to be yourself. If he don’t like it, then he can go jump off a cliff.”

I laughed. “Arrasso.”

Seul Tae hugged me again. “Now get out of the bathroom, so I can get ready.”

I nodded and left the bathroom to go downstairs. My Dad and Mom looked at me.

“You look beautiful Sang Eun.” Mom commented.

Dad went up to me, giving me a hug and a kiss on my cheek. “Most importantly you look like yourself.”

“Thanks.” I whispered.

“Have fun Sang Eun and if he hurts you call me and I will be right there.” Dad said.

I nodded my head in response, while putting on my converse. I then walked out the door and made my way to Bangpo Bridge. As I was walking, I received a text message.

Text: Hey don’t worry I will be here when you get here...I got here kinda early. You are gonna show up right? - Mr. Hopeful Not A Creeper Yongguk

Text: Hey. I’m on my way now. Promise I am not going to ditch you. - Ms.  Curiously Stupid Sang Eun

Text: Ouch...I felt that...But good to know you aren’t going to ditch me. - Mr. Hopeful Not A Creeper Yongguk

Text: So when I get there how do I know that it is you? - Ms. Curiously Stupid Sang Eun

Text: Well for one I will be the only person by themselves. For two I have a cap on backwards, a black shirt, and rip jeans. And lastly you can always call and I’m sure we will find each other or I can call. - Mr. Hopeful Not A Creeper Yongguk

Text: Good point on one haha, got it on two, and true on three. I’ll let you need if I need help. - Ms. Curiously Stupid Sang Eun

When I made it to Bangpo Bridge and looked around for a person who was all alone wearing a black shirt, rip jeans, and a cap that is on backwards. While my eyes darted around, I found a guy looking around nervously. I wonder, I thought as I walked that way.

“Yongguk?” I whispered as I approached him.

The guy’s head looked my way and smiled. “Sang Eun.”

I nodded my head and smiled nervously. Holy crap its Yongguk from B.A.P., breathe Sang Eun he is a normal person. Be yourself, I coached myself in my head.

“You recognize me don’t you.” He asked.

“I’m supposed to recognize you? I’ve never met you, so I’m supposed to recognize you?” I countered.

He opened his mouth and closed it a couple times before replying. “You know what I can’t argue this.”

“Well then in that case...” I paused and then exclaimed, pumping my arms up in the air. “I win!”

Yongguk laughed. “Yes you win.”

“On a serious note though, I like to be properly introduced to people if I know who they are.” I paused.

“Well in that case I am Bang Yongguk.” He introduced putting his hand out.

I shook his hand. “Well Bang Yongguk I am Lee Sang Eun.”

Once our hand let go he squinted his eyes at me. “You do know who I am.”

“You know I would play along and actually say well yeah we have been texting, however I’ll say the truth...” Pausing before continuing, “We have been texting.”

“Uh huh sure. I’ll go with that answer, but I know that you know who I am.”

I shook my head and laughed. “Alright so moving on. What exactly are we going to be doing? Mr. I Will Make It Up To You.”

“Well I thought of something really simple and relaxing in a way if you are up for it.”

“I am here, so what is it exactly?” I asked.

He scratched the back of his head,  underneath the cap, nervously. “Getting fried chicken and beer, then coming back here to sit, eat, chill, talk. Or does that sound awful.”

“Hmm.” I replied making him even more nervous. “It sounds..”I put my hand to my chin in thinking position and noticed him move around looking even more nervous. I put my hand down. “Good. It sounds good.”

He let out a breath of relief. “You scared me for a second.”

“Sorry. I couldn’t help it.” I giggled.

“It’s okay.” He grinned. “So if I said I had everything right here, what would you say?”

“I would say sweet, lets eat.” I responded.

“Good. Because I have everything here.” He replied.

Yongguk led the way to where he had everything and we sat down. He handed me a beer, which she took, along with placing the box of chicken where they can both reach it and opening it.

“Bon Appetit.” He smiled.

I laughed and they started eating.

Taking a sip of beer, Yongguk asked. “So what made you decide to agree?”

“Honestly, I don’t know. Something just told me to agree, even though I felt stupid for agreeing.” I said honestly.

“Do you feel stupid for agreeing now?”

I shook my head. “No.”

“Good.”

“What helped with that was that you just said to be myself and you haven’t ran off or said anything mean.” I then looked at him. “You also did the simplest most comfortable date I could ever have, so thank you.”

“You are very welcome.” He took a sip of his beer. “Thank you for agreeing.”

“What made you decide to make it up to me?” I couldn’t help but ask.

“Well I felt bad because I don’t like canceling on people. My sister also said she had a good feeling about the whole blind date thing and when I told her I had to cancel she told me to ask for your number so I could make it up to you since it isn’t a good feeling to show up and then the other person doesn’t. I understood that and to be honest it made me feel better knowing that I could make it up to you.” Yongguk explained.

“Well I should thank your sister then.” I took a bite of a chicken.

“Yeah she wanted details, so I’ll let her know you said that.”

“So you are close to your siblings?”

He nodded his head. “Yup. I mean when you have a twin you’re automatically close to them. I’m close to my sister as well. I’m close with my family. You?”

“I’m close to my older sister and my family. I’m the one usually making sure everyone at least eats.”

“What else do you do? I mean they told me that you teach at Hanyang University, but that’s it.”

“Well I love to write poems, song lyrics, and short stories. I also spend free time helping others, however despite that I'm looked down on and called a hoodlum.”

“Would this have anything to do with why you asked about what to wear or is that just a girl thing?”

“It would be why I asked what to wear. It also didn’t help that when I showed up Hyunwoo made a comment saying that he could tell me how to dress next time.”

Youngguk’s eyes went wide. “He what?”

“Yup he told me that he could tell me how to dress to impress you or the next person next time. Either way I told him off and walked away. Still kinda bugged me to be honest.”

“If it means anything you don’t have to worry about what to wear to impress me. You being you is perfectly fine and I have no complaints.”

My eyes connected to his. “Good because I’m not going to change.”

“Good because you don’t need to.”

We both smiled and continued to talking while eating and drinking. He also brought water, so we didn’t drink to much.

As we were sitting there laughing, eating, drinking, and having a good time getting to know each other, there was someone there taking pictures of us. However, we didn’t notice since we were wrapped up in what the other was saying.

After the date, Yongguk took me home and even walked me up to the door. “So I guess I will talk to you later?” I asked.

“Definitely. Especially since there will be more dates. I hope.” He answered.

I smiled. “That sounds like a plan.”

Grinning, he replied. “I’ll text you later okay.”

“Okay.” I said and waved bye as I went into the house.

“By that smile, I’d say I was right and it went well.” Dad smiled.

“Yes it went well and no one has to get hurt.”

“Good.” Dad kissed my forehead. “Now get to bed. I got to wait for your sister.”

I laughed and went upstairs to my bedroom. I flopped on my bed smiling. Today was a good day and I couldn’t wait to see what happens next. Maybe I found someone to like me for me.
