The Doubts
Till I Reach Your HeartIt was Sunday night as Victoria entered the living room wearing her pijamas. Krystal was sitting in the floor doing some paperwork.
The Chinese put a cup of hot chocolate down the table and sat on the couch, taking the tv remote before comfortably resting her left arm on the backrest as the other was busy holding her own mug. The older the tv, not sure of what she wanted to see. Her mind clouded by thoughts lately ever since that afternoon in the theme park when she almost kissed Krystal.
Well, maybe she just thought of it. But there was nothing wrong with kissing her wife right?.
Except the part where they hadn't kissed at all ever since they got married, that, or the fact that their marriage was fake.
It had been a couple of weeks after the 'incident' and she had tried to ignore it, really. At the end, it seemed impossible or she wouldn't be thinking about it now. In fact, she didn't understand what was going on in her head, Krystal had caused 'things' in her before but she didn't mind it. All Victoria thought was that it was the younger's way to mess with her and make her feel more comfortable around each other.
"I can hear your thoughts up to here, you know?" The heiress interrupted.
Victoria turned in her direction, raising an eyebrow. "Hmhm?".
"Well, I didn't really hear them. You just were staring at the screen changing channels nonstop". Krystal tilted her head. "Something wrong?".
Victoria noticed how the younger was looking at her, the slightest bit of concern showing in her eyes. The Chinese couldn't help but smile, thinking it was fun how Krystal worried over nothing. But again her mind drifted to the idea in her head from before, of course it wasn't nothing. She cleared , sitting straight in place. "Yeah just- ". Her eyes looked around, but nothing came up to change the topic. "Thinking? About stuff". She shrugged. "Anyway, weren't you working?".
Krystal rolled her eyes, a groan escaping forgetting about anything else. "Ugh. I start to think dad is giving me all the projects while he sits comfortably at his office". The heiress leaned back. "That plus school work is killing me". She closed her eyes, giving out a sigh. "At least he hasn't told me to go to the associates who are further away. That would definitely kill me".
Victoria chuckled. "Why don't you leave that for a second? You can help me choose something to watch". She patted the empty space in the couch.
Krystal looked over her work before taking the cup of hot chocolate from the table and standing up. "You win". She shrugged. "Oh! We should watch this new drama Sulli's been telling me about. I think it's channel 19". The heiress sat, shifting from time to time not really comfortable. Her sight made its way to Victoria, who was busy changing channels to notice her staring when an idea popped in her head.
The younger chose to sit closer to Victoria, so close it would appear as if they were snuggling.
The chinese felt a strange warm sensation making its way to her face, looking down for a second when she felt the younger's stare so she wouldn't see her blushing. Regaining her composture, Victoria looked up, locking eyes with her wife's accidentally. Why was she so drawn to them today?. It was as if she was seeing them for the first time again, only to notice the brown orbs she'd looked at countless of times now, were so dark yet they showed a clear contrast with her pupils. They were trully beautiful.
On the other hand, Krystal was screaming on the inside. She was exited to finally make a move on Victoria she didn't think it would end up like this "Little steps" Jessica said. "Scratch that! She hasn't done this in so long she won't notice. Be more obvious!". Tiffany retorted. At the end, they all agreed Krystal had to be cautious but bold, obvious but not too much or else she could scare Victoria away. Was that even possible? And most importantly: was she doing it right though?.
She couldn't back down now, plus, she couldn't tear her eyes away from Victoria's no matter how much she wanted. The older's gaze wasn't really intense, but it was captivating, as if she was studing her, thinking about something. Pretty similar to the one they shared in the ice rink the other day. She watched as Victoria's eyes drifted down to her lips and almost instantly her own. Krystal gulped, that hadn't happened last time, but it was a good sign right?. Should she just lean in?.
The heiress made up her mind, leaning slowly a little closer to the other woman, waiting for a reaction. The younger couldn't help but stare at her wife's lips too, noticing how they were parted slightly when Victoria them again before her eyes fell upon hers again. Krystal stopped, looking up.
Victoria swore she almost had a heart attack at the way her wife was looking at her through her lashes, waiting for her to do something. She could feel Krystal's uneven breath, almost as uneven as hers though neither of them showed it so much.
This was the time, she could just forget about everything for a moment and just do it.
And she did. She was going to kiss Krystal.
Looking again to see any doubt, and she saw none, Victoria leaned closer to the younger's face as she closed her eyes ...
Both girls jumped in surprise at the ringing of a phone.
The younger backed away a little before standing up searching for her phone. Victoria opened her eyes and clenched her fist softly in frustration, sitting back as she was in the beginning.
The heiress was still a little nervous, why did they have to be interrupted again?. She finally spotted her phone below a pile of papers and checked the ID. Great, what did her father want now?. "Sorry, it's dad I have to take this". Krystal said, stealing a quick glance at her wife who just smiled and nodded before dissapearing into her room and closing her door.
