How to confess to someone: 15 steps

While on their way to the park, Mina took the liberty of trailing behind the group of girls and searching up different ways to confess to someone. The plan was to just come right out and say it, but the more she thought about it the more she became reluctant to do so. Having a few tips wouldn’t be so bad would it?

Step 1 of the process was to to think if you had a chance with the said person, she thought we was a bit delusional when she first thought she could get Chaeng’s heart, but Jihyo and Nayeon both thought she had a chance so, step one done.

Step 2 of the process was actually making sure you loved this person. Of course Mina loves Chaeyoung, there’s not a doubt in her mind. She just needed to know if it was that kind of love, which she strongly believed it was. The younger girl was constantly on her mind, heck, Mina never had feelings for anyone, she’s at a point where she’s using wikihow to help her. Mina definitely loves Chaeyoung. Step 2 done.

Step 3 was being true to her intentions. Her intentions were to be the person Chaeyoung could find comfort in no matter the circumstance. The person who gives the younger girl energy, and a reason to smile. To be the person to show Chaeyoung what a beautiful person she is inside and out, and to inspire both herself and Chaeyoung to be the best people that they could be. In a way, wasn’t she already all those things to Chaeyoung? Step 3 done.

While reading on the next step, Mina unknowingly was walking straight towards a pole, and fell onto her with a pain filled groan. Instead of helping her up and asking if she was okay, Nayeon snatched Mina’s phone from her hand and checked what had her so distracted.

Nayeon sighed dejectedly and stuffed Mina’s phone in her pocket before helping the younger girl up, “No more using the phone until we leave the country Mina, if you’re going to seek advice come to Jihyo or I.”

Mina tried snaking her hands into Nayeon’s pocket only to have the older scold her.

“Yah! Mina save those hands for your cub!” Mina’s face was about the color of a ripe tomato, fortunately Jihyo came to save her.

Like a mother coddling her bickering children, she pushed the two away from each other and took both Mina and Nayeon’s phones.

“Nayeon leave Mina alone, she and Chaeyoung haven’t even had their first kiss yet! And Mina, seeking help from an internet article isn’t the best source for advice. You won’t get these phones back until we get to the hotel. Now c’mon the park should be close by.”

Still feeling quite nervous Mina bit her lip and fiddled with her fingers while making her way down the street.

“Can’t you keep your mind off that girl for more than 5 minutes Mina?” Nayeon whispered in her ear, but before Mina could respond , Jihyo somehow still heard and called out to the girls.

“The both you at my side. Now.” If they didn’t follow the girl’s command they knew they’d be dealing with the wrath of God soon.

“Have you ever been flower watching unnie?” Dahyun asked.

“Only with my grandma, she told me once that I should definitely go with someone I loved though because it’s supposed to be romantic as heck. Which got me thinking a while ago, why she would go with me instead of letting me have my first experience with someone I love romantically. She’s a bit weird but I like to think of myself like her, she is the person who told me ‘green tea is green’.”

This unnie can never focus on one thing can she? Why can’t she be more like Mina? Wait no, that’s not right. It was wrong of her to be comparing her friends like that, they’re their own people.

“And then she told me that I would run around in front of guests with only a diaper in my hands! She jokes about me being so wild as a toddler is why my parents stopped after having me, my grandma is quite the comedian isn’t she?”

My goodness I love this unnie but I hope one day she learns how to be a little more collected.

“The flowers look as beautiful as they did when I saw them years ago!”

“What?”

“We’re here Chaeng! Are you so short that the blossoms are too high for you to see or were you daydreaming?”

Chaeyoung only heard “We’re here” that means Mina should be here too.

“Do you think the others are here yet?” Sana was first to ask which urged Dahyun to call the others, more specifically Mina. But there was no answer.

Oh god what if she’s ignoring us because I’m here? Or what if she wandered off by herself andgot kidnapped? Oh my god I hope she’s alright, why weren’t the others with her? She’s a beautiful young girl, any creep could have snatched her right up! I’ll never forgive them if something happened to her. But then again I left her alone too, who am I to talk? But what if-

“Chaeyoung are you okay? You look like you’re gonna throw up.”

Dahyun asked, but before Chaeyoung has a chance to respond Mina’s phone apparently answered and the person heard Dahyun’s comment.

“Chaeyoung’s throwing up?”

“Ah no unnie! She just looks a little sick, maybe she should go back to the hotel instead of staying out with us.”

This time, Chaeyoung interrupted, “NO! I- I wanna see the flowers with my unnies” trying to play off that she really just wanted to talk to Mina, making Sana squeal.

“Aww our baby wants to spend time with us!” She squeezed the younger girl’s cheeks, Chaeyoung tried her hardest to focus on Dahyun’s conversation with the person on Mina’s phone but the Japanese girl with her now was attempting to be the center of her attention.

“Okay! We’ll meet you guys there see you in a bit.” Dahyun hung up and started heading further into the park signaling her two friends to follow her.

“Uh, why didn’t Mina pick up the the first time?” Chaeyoung shyly asked.

Dahyun wondered why the younger girl seemed reluctant to ask but brushed it off, “Apparently she and Nayeon unnie were behaving like children, so they suffered the wrath of God.”

Chaeyoung shouldn’t have been worrying since it was obvious that one of their friends had answered the phone in the first place, but still, she sighed in relief that Mina was fine.

Why am I worrying so much suddenly? Chaeyoung thought to herself.

Even though the group of girls were supposed to flower watching together, Jeongyeon and Momo couldn’t help but look around them taking pictures and exploring the park while they waited for the other girls; Nayeon, Jihyo, Mina and Tzuyu on the other hand sat peacefully on the grass and passed the time with small talk until they heard a phone ring.

Tzuyu realized first where it was coming from and reached into Jihyo’s pocket to fish out the phone, “It’s for you.” Mina was glad to take her phone back but Jihyo quickly took it fromTzuyu’s grasp while apologizing to her.

Jihyo looked at the caller expecting it to be Chaeyoung but instead finding “Eagle Queen” on the caller ID, so she answered and put the phone on speaker.

“Chaeyoung are you okay? You look like you’re going to throw up.”

Mina frowned, what was wrong with Chaeyoung? Did she eat too much? Maybe she’s coming down with the flu?

“Chaeyoung’s throwing up?” Jihyo asked, clearly concerned.

“Ah no unnie! She just looks a little sick, maybe she should go back to the hotel instead of staying out with us.”

Mina’s frown grew, she was looking forward to speaking with the younger girl again, until she heard said girl’s voice through the speaker.

“NO! I- I wanna see the flowers with my unnies” It was loud and clear which made the frown on Mina’s face fade. actually grew into a smile when she heard Sana teasing Chaeyoung.

“Ahh okay, if she looks like she’s getting worse let me know and I’ll go with her back to the hotel. If she says she’s okay though then the rest of us are waiting in the center of the park, we’ll be waiting for you.”

“Okay! We’ll meet you guys there see you in a bit.” Dahyun hung up after that and the girls resumed their conversation while waiting.

“Chaeyoung’s probably thinking about what she wants to say to you.” Tzuyu suddenly said “She gets this ugly face when she’s worried and Dahyun probably thought she was dying or something.”

Even though she disagreed with Tzuyu about Chaeyoung ever having an ugly face, she couldn’t help but laugh at her comment. And Tzuyu smiled because while she was a savage to her friends she still cared about the relationship between them.

What a caring maknae we have.

“Does Tzuyu know you like Chaeyoung too?” Nayeon bluntly asked.

And what a snake-like unnie we have as well.

“You like Chaeyoung?” Tzuyu asked, she didn’t seem all that surprised, but more like she wanted to know more.

While Mina wasn’t going to hide her feelings anymore she wasn’t so open with just letting the whole world know about them. But she couldn’t really run from this situation now could she?

“Well, yeah, for a while now actually.” Mina didn’t want to let Tzuyu know she’s been feeling this for over a year so she kept it at that.

“Ah so that’s why she’s forgiven so easily.”

A slightly uncomfortable silence blanket the fours girls, Jihyo despite being the loudest girl stayed the most quiet while Mina mentally threw daggers at Nayeon and Tzuyu looked into the distance while lost in thought.

“You should totally mess with her then.”

All three older girls looked at Tzuyu incredulously.

“Why on earth would Mina do that?” Jihyo asked.

“It’d be funny. Besides, Chaeyoung is really hung up over this, if you don’t accept her apology she’d freak out.”

Our maknae isn’t as caring as I might have thought.

It wasn’t long until the three girls spotted their friends waiting patiently on the grass beneath a few trees.

Sana waved enthusiastically towards them and hooked her arms with Chaeyoung. “Don’t worry too much about apologizing okay Chae? Remember that Mina loves you and wouldn’t stay mad too long.”

Chaeyoung did her best to smile and mentally prepare herself for the apology to Mina.

Ahh Sana Unnie is right, it’s just Mina.

But that’s the thing isn’t it?

It’s not just Mina. It’s her Mina.

“My chingu Chaeng looks so cute! I can’t tell the difference between her and the cherry blossoms.” Tzuyu gushed while hugging the shorter girl as the group finally came together as a whole.

“Tzuyu-ah How come you never speak to your unnies like that?’ Nayeon whined

“Yah! I’m Tzuyu’s unnie too! Did you guys forget?”

The small girl sulked as Nayeon ruffled her hair. “You told us that you were aging backwards, why are you complaining now?”

“Unnie stop picking on my chingu so much.” Tzuyu defended “ you’re just jealous because you resemble a 500 year old bonsai tree.”

Nayeon nearly fainted at Tzuyu’s remark causing the group of girls to laugh, except for one.

“Mina what’s wrong were you feeling sick too?” Jihyo motherly tone brought Mina to Chaeyoung’s attention.

“A little, I think I’ll just get some fresh air by myself for a few minutes, I’ll be back.” Without anything more to say Mina left the group and headed further into the park away from all of the girls.

“We’re already outside what more fresh air could she need though?” Dahyun asked as they all watched the Japanese girl walk away from them.

“Hey why don’t we find Jeongyeon and Momo so we can take some pictures?” Tzuyu suggested while ignoring Dahyun’s true statement. Sana cheered with excitement claiming that she had wanted to take cute couple pictures with her friends and the trees since it fit her “aesthetic”. Whatever that meant.

They all followed Sana in the opposite direction Mina went. But Tzuyu pulled Chaeyoung closer to her and whispered in her ear.
“Do you need a hand written invitation or something you small dummy? Go apologize to Mina right now you dingus.”

“But… Sana Unnie, she wanted to take pictures … and I…”

“Stop making excuses and just go! You know the longer you wait the harder it’s gonna be for her to forgive you, you should go now while you still have a chance” She warned.

Chaeyoung frowned but looked for any indication that Tzuyu might just be kidding but she saw no sign, nodded her head, and ran to catch up to Mina.

Mina sighed to herself.

Is this really a good idea?

Probably not. But there’s no turning back now.

Hopefully it goes as planned.

She was slightly tired from walking and decided to stop in the middle of the path surrounded by many trees to wait for the younger girl, who hopefully was going after her.

Her short legs can’t take her that far.

Mina turned around to check her surroundings. “If only I was brave enough to tell Chaeyoung, none of this would have happened.” Mina whispered to herself.

“But then again would she have even accepted my confession?” Mina groaned while continuing her conversation with herself waiting for Chaeyoung to come to her.

“Brave enough to tell me what unnie?”

Mina quickly turned around and saw Chaeyoung standing behind her with a confused look on her face.

“It’s nothing, I was, I just, I really needed to tell you-”

“Wait Mina I have something to tell you too.”

She grabbed a hold of MIna’s hand and looked her in the eyes.

“First and foremost, I’m sorry, I had absolutely no right to raise my voice at you or call you stupid and I especially shouldn’t have let you walk off by yourself. I- I don’t know why I got so jealous, I just know that I’m really sorry and I didn’t mean to ruin this trip, it was supposed to be fun, but with the way I’ve been acting I would have been mad too. Please forgive me.”

Mina stood there with her hands in Chaeyoung’s looking into her apologetic eyes.

“I’m sorry too.” Mina barely whispered.

“But you didn’t-”

Chaeyoung was immediately cut off with Mina’s lips on hers. Chaeyoung of course was startled  but it felt.. Right. Like something she had been waiting for this whole time. She doesn’t really know how long they stayed like that but she knows she missed the feeling when Mina finally pulled away.

“That’s why I’m sorry.”

Chaeyoung paused.

“Don’t be.”

The shorter girl pulled Mina in for another kiss, she could feel Mina relax into her embrace but pull away again after a few seconds.

“Wait so, you… you like me too right?”

Chaeyoung smiled. “Do you need another kiss to get it through your brain unnie?”

Mina blushed. “I am sorry though, honestly, I shouldn’t have yelled either. I should have told you sooner, I was just scared that I would lose you Chae. I think we’re both at fault but I’m glad things ended the way they did.”

Chaeyoung pulled Mina in for tight hug.

“Me too”

A few months later

“Sana called, she said she and Momo are gonna be a little late because of traffic.”

Jihyo and Chaeyoung were sitting in Mina’s living room while the others were getting New Year’s decorations. And because of all the parties happening the roads were a little crowded, nonetheless they would wait to start the party until all 9 friends were present.

“Chaeyoung could you help me with this box?” Chaeyoung turned around to see a box being held up by little old Mina.

“What do you expect Chaeyoung to do Mina? She’s a good 2 feet short than you.” Tzuyu while bringing in bowls and snacks for the party with a smirk on her face.

“Don’t be so mean to her you jolly green giant!” Jihyo playfully smacked the maknae while she cried out to Mina for help.

“Unnie do something!” Mina shrugged her shoulders while Chaeyoung set the down box on the table.

“Serves you right for picking on me Tzuyu. Maybe next time you won’t have to suffer at the hands of god.”

Tzuyu pouted but went back to the kitchen with Jihyo following behind her.

“What’s in this big ol’ box anyway? How many decorations for the new year do you have in there?” Mina pulled out banners and party hats from the previous year that needed to be tossed out but while pulling out more decorations she found a photo album from years ago with random pictures from different years. In the album she found many pictures of a young Mina with the rest of her family at Chaeyoung’s party.

“Aww we were so cute!”

“Were? I don’t know about you but I’m still cute” Chaeyoung teased “I do remember that year though, it was the first time we stayed up for the New Year together and you got to sleep over.”

While Chaeyoung was talking Mina found a piece of paper folded behind the photo. It was a simple drawing of 3 stick figures, the two taller stick figures holding hands. Mina turned the piece of paper around and saw Chaeyoung’s name, misspelled, in crayon.

“Chae look! I think you made this that year too.I think it’s supposed to be you and I.” Chaeyoung glanced at the drawing before saying “I can see the resemblance. Is it supposed to be you and I holding hands?”

“Maybe we can add another drawing for this photo album.”

“Oh yeah? What were you-”

Chaeyoung felt the soft lips of Mina on her cheek with her said girlfriend smirking at her.

“BLEH, We don’t need any of that nonsense at this kind of family function.” Mina and Chaeyoung heard Jeongyeon’s voice behind them with Nayeon next to her.

“Yoo Jeongyeon you leave them alone! They were having a moment!”

“Whatever, just keep it PG, I don’t wanna have to wash my eyes out because of you two.” Jeongyeon and Nayeon entered the kitchen leaving Mina and Chaeyoung alone again.

“Who does that unnie think she is? All you did was give me a peck on the cheek.”

“There’s more where that came from Chaengie.” Mina whispered into her ear and ran away into the kitchen leaving a flustered Chaeyoung was left.

“Myoui Mina get back here!”

It was a good New Year.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL it's literally been like 2 years omg I'm crying.  BUT ANYWYAS here it is how are y'all, I keep seeing people subscribe?????? Like first of all how far are you guys going into the michaeng tag to find my story?????????? But me oh my I'm so sorry, I feel so embarassed like..... it's literally been so long.... and some have y'all have been waiting... I feel bad.. BUT I do want to keep writing! It's just beacuse SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED to me , like I have a whole job now which is pretty cool I guess but I never once forgot about this story, I literally read fanfics like everyday lol, I just never seem to have time to get back to writing but I'm gonna MAKE time because I have a lot of ideas (not just for michaeng!!!!)  and I forgot how fun it was! Anyways i hope you guys enjoy this chapter but also I'm probably deleting this whole collection and I'm probably gonna re upload them later just to have a clean slate and to do some revsing because I literally never revise, but anyway I will catch you guys later with another story (maybe another ship *nudge nudge*) but yeah, I miss you guys please leave a comment <3
