Mina’s head snapped up when she heard the giggling of her group members all around her. She could feel the drool from and was quick to wipe it away feeling very much embarrassed, she was fortunate it was just the members around her though.

“Why are you guys laughing? What happened?”

She looked across the room and saw Chaeyoung laughing a bit harder than the other girls. She sent a look to her girlfriend and questioned her.

“What did you do?” She asked bluntly while Chaeyoung had an offended look.

“I didn’t do anything! I was just taking a picture of my beautiful girlfriend napping, is that so bad.”

Mina knew exactly where the photo would end up. Of course Chaeyoungwasn’t cruel and the picture wouldn’t end up online but she knew Chaeyoung would be adding it to her collection of “Sleeping Penguin Pictures” Mina couldn’t stay mad at the girl for taking a picture,but she could be mad they interrupted her wonderful nap she was having.

“Mina?” A gentle shake. “Mina.. babe please wake up.”

She felt guilty waking her up in the middle of the night, before an event filled day but she couldn’t help it, she had a nightmare. Mina finally stirred from her sleep and rubbed her eyes looking through the darkness in an attempt to see who, or what woke her up.

“Mina..sorry for waking you up but can I sleep with you for the rest of the night? I had a nightmare and-”

Chaeyoung didn’t get to finish before she was pulled into Mina’s warm embrace. She was especially grateful for her girlfriend for being so understanding and kind, had she denied her, Chaeyoung probably would have lied in the darkness awake until the morning when they would need to get up for their schedules.

“You know you didn’t need to ask to come into bed with me, the answer will always be yes”

Mina’s soft voice, the lingering smell of Jasmine on the pillow, her girlfriends breath tickling her neck and the content feeling she had in her heart made her completely forget what she got up for in the first place.

Mina sighed as the screen flashed ‘Game Over’ as if to mock her and she heard Chaeyoung chuckle behind her. She turned quickly around and saw Chaeyoung looking at her lovingly.

“What are you staring at?”

“Nothing, you just look extra cute when you’re frustrated over your game.”

A pink hue came onto Mina’s face as she restarted the hard level again.

“You like watching me suffer huh? That’s kinda mean don’t you think?”

“I don’t want to watch you lose over and over again, I want to see what happens next! I just can’t help looking at how cute you are, it’s not my fault.”

“Sounds like an excuse to me, but I’ll forgive you if you give me a kiss, who knows, maybe it’ll help me win this level.”

She couldn’t see Chaeyoung getting up because of her eyes focused on the screen but she felt the girl now next to her and felt the familiar soft pair of lips on her cheek as she powered through the horde of zombies. She then paused the game to give her a kiss in return.

It was silent after that, just the quiet sound of the game being played and Mina’s nails occasionally tapping against the controller in her hand. Finally after what felt like years Mina successfully got through the level and the game’s cutscenes started playing.

“Chae look I finally-”

She was asleep, Mina felt the weight of the younger girl on her shoulder but didn’t think much of it, figuring Chaeyoung was watching her play.

Mina smiled, she didn’t forget to save the game before turning off her console and gently shaking Chaeyoung awake so they could go to bed.

Chaeyoung let out a yawn and opened her eyes finding Mina looking at her.

“I won sleepy head. But it’s time for us to go to bed.” Chaeyoung nodded and slowly got up to follow Mina to her bed before immediately falling back asleep. Mina couldn’t help but giggle at the sleeping girl next to her.

“Goodnight Chae”

Chaeyoung had an uneasy feeling, like she was possibly forgetting something important, she just couldn’t figure out what. Her day was uneventful for the most part, spending a large portion of the day with her members and more specifically Mina. There wasn’t anything she needed to do but part of her could feel something missing.

She sat in her bed for a few minutes before getting up and remembering what was so important.

She opened the door gently trying to be considerate of the girls in the room, and saw Mina facing the wall on her phone. She wasn’t noticed by the older girl and she took this opportunity to sneak beside her bed and life the covers up to get it.

Mina must have finally noticed the younger girl’s presence because she turned around to face her with a pout on her face.

“I thought maybe you forgot something.” Mina said shyly

“To be honest I did, but I remembered and came to you right away, I can’t let you go to bed without a goodnight.”

“And?”

“And your kiss of course, how could I be so silly.”

She moved closer to Mina and gave her a soft peck on the lips.

“Is that better?”

Mina’s lack of response made Chaeyoung laugh, already knowing what she needed to do. She peppered Mina’s face with kisses until a smile broke onto Mina’s pouty face.

“Is it better now?” Chaeyoung asked intertwining her hand with Mina’s.

“Can’t you guys be gross in another room, some of us are trying to go to sleep here.” Nayeon’s voice filled the silent room around them. She was right of course but that wasn’t going to stop the two from giving each other a few more goodnight kisses. Just for good measure.

Mina could have sworn that Chaeyoung was with Tzuyu in their room earlier. But when she wen to check on her she only found a sleeping Dahyun and Tzuyu. Confused, she went to the living room expecting her to be watching TV, or maybe in the kitchen finding a snack. Not to Mina’s surprise, she heard the TV and some drama she couldn’t recognize being played . But she also found Chaeyoung bundled up on their couch with a blanket on top of her. She must have fallen asleep while watching her show. Mina couldn’t help but smile at the sight of her girlfriend, she looked so tiny and cute , she hardly takes up any room on the couch.

She made her way to Chaeyoung, sitting next to the sleeping girl and just stared at her peaceful face, she thought it might be time for her to go to bed as well. She tried gently shaking the girl awake but it didn’t seem to have any effect on her. She shook a little harder this time rousing her from her sleep a bit but the younger girl was still not waking up enough to actually get up and move. She would have to carry her to bed herself, which wasn’t so bad as that meant she would be sleeping with Mina tonight since Mina couldn’t carry her up the younger girl’s bunk bed.

Carrying Chaeyoung to her own room though would prove to be a challenge Mina soon found out. While she wasn’t weak, she certainly didn’t expect for her task to be this difficult. She gently and carefully put her arms underneath the sleeping girl and quickly carried her to the bed, Jihyo and Sana staring at her as she nearly knocked over Nayeon’s bedside lamp coming in.

As she finally put Chaeyoung down she took a deep breath, perhaps she should join the other girls at the gym when they offer. She lied down next to the girl and pulled the covers over herself and Chaeyoung ready to fall asleep, but not before kissing the girl’s forehead.

“Night Chae.”

Mina and Chaeyoung were lying on the latter’s bed snuggled up where no one could see them. If there was one thing Chaeyoung liked about cuddling Mina it was that the older girl made her feel safe and at home, like everything is right in the world. The way Mina’s arm would wrap around her waist, and the way Mina would whine if Chaeyoung tried to leave her side. And for Mina it was that Chaeyoung was like a personal heater, Mina would always try to somehow get closer to her. When it was the winter months and snow was falling outside, Mina was always equipped with her coziest blankets in the comforting warmth of her girlfriend. Chaeyoung also liked to be Mina’s big spoon despite her smaller figure, she would place light kisses along Mina’s bare shoulder, even though she couldn’t see it, she knew it would make the older girl smile. They enjoyed moments like these far away from prying eyes, the cameras, all of it. Just two girls hopelessly in love with each other, and hopelessly in love with the idea of being together like this.
