it's so intriguing, yet scary at the same time

 

there's a lot of things to growing up.

i've been learning a lot about growing up, this past three years. 

i used to think that growing up meant graduating with good grades,

getting a good job, finding a good spouse, having a nice house with two kids. 

that growing up meant having to catch up with friends over drinks, meeting new people to grow your social circle. 

in the world we live in, growing up meant more responsibilities, more stress, and well......

it basically meant being an adult. 

 

but the older i got, the more i saw.

and the more i saw, the more i realised,

that growing up doesn't just mean growing old.

it doesn't just mean more responsibilities and stress. 

because some grown ups still remain equally, for some, worse than 3 year olds.

 

no. 

i realised, that growing up just means, to be more aware of yourself and others.

it means learning and discovering new things about and from life itself. 

growing up means maturing and changing yourself to become the best you can ever be.

and i think that's what makes people so great and it amazes me.

those who never stop improving themselves, running exactly towards true joy.

and being the kindest, most lovely humans they could possibly be.

 

that's the kind of person i'd like to become.

always learning, always growing.

to not judge or jump to conclusions.

to love, understand and always be kind. 

 

but of course, growing up doesn't happen overnight.

change does not happen overnight.

it is all part of life's learning process.

 

we'll never really know how much we've grown until we've reached a certain point.

and we look back, and we're able to say,

"hey, i'm different. this is different. this isn't how i would handle such situations 2 years ago.

but this way, this current way, is so much better, so much calmer, so much kinder."

and so, that's why we always got to take 'growing up' one step at a time. 

 

i think, that's what makes growing up sound so much more exciting.

because you're going to learn so much.

you're going to see things you've never seen before,

understand things you never understood.

you're going to go places, and meet new people. 

you're going to become the best person you could ever possibly be.

and you're going to grow up.

 

and if we keep pushing, keep seeking, and keep going, then we will never stop learning.

and we will never stop growing up.
