Chapter 10
This Thing called 'LOVE'The duo was oblivious to the fact that the door had shut itself when this drama was going on. Jiyong tried opening the door but failed miserably. He tried again and again and again but luck wasn't in his side.
"Don't tell me it isn't opening!" - Aeri huffed in disbelief.
"No. I guess we are stuck here."
"You are joking right!"
"Do you think I can joke in such situations?"
"Open it, the way you did last time."
"Maybe you should stop ordering and try becoming useful!" - Jiyong yelled in frustration, he didn't want to shout at Aeri but she kept pushing him to his limits. Something she was very good at doing.
"What?! now you want me to open the door!"
"If you can't help me open the door. Please shut your mouth and let me try."
"Wow" - Aeri said, sarcasm evident in her voice.
5 more minutes passed by, Jiyong had given up hopes on opening the door. No matter how hard he tired it didn't work. He checked his cell phone and tried calling Tae Oh.
"It's of no use." - Aeri mumbled, sitting down at one corner of the room.
The truth was that Aeri was very scared, there wasn't any cockroach in the room. The cockroach was just an excuse to avert Jiyong's attention from her. She had entered the room searching for her mother's coat after a waiter present in the hall told her that some coats were down in the basement. Seeing many costumes hanging inside, she thought maybe her mother's coat might be among them. But sadly it wasn't there and when she turned around, she found herself locked inside. She tried her best to stay calm but has time passed so did her composure. She tried calling Tae Oh, Seungri, Taeyang but none of the calls got connected. When she was about to give up she heard Jiyong's voice. Aeri's face brightened up at once and she called his name but when Jiyong was trying his best to open the door Aeri was thinking of ways to explain herself as to what she was doing locked in the room and landed coming up with the dumbest excuse possible.
"I have tried it several times." - Aeri continued when she saw Jiyong waiting for some explanation. But the truth was Jiyong's attention was else where, her bodycon dress had raised to mid thigh level when she sat down distracting him a bit. Being the gentlemen he was, Jiyong walked towards Aeri making her cautious.
"Yah! Why are you coming this way! Sit somewhere else." - Aeri blurted out, trying her best to keep Jiyong away from her. But Jiyong didn't stop in his tracks. Walking further towards her, Jiyong removed his coat and before Aeri could get up and do something she would regret later he gently threw the jacket on her thighs covering them completely.
"Thankyou" - Aeri said softly, humbled by his actions.
"What in the world were you doing here!?" - Jiyong asked clamming his nerves and sitting at the other corner of the room, both sitting diagonal to each other.
"Some guy told that few of the coats were kept in the basement, so I landed up here."
"What? No coats are kept in the basement!" - Jiyong said feeling a bit suspicious.
"How was I supposed to know it ? " - Aeri pouted making Jiyong's heart flutter. This was the first time he saw Aeri's softer side and was surprised because hardly 5 minutes ago they were fighting like cats and dogs. Not wanting things to get awkward, Jiyong quickly shifted his gaze to the other side of the room.
"When do you think we can get out of this room?" - Aeri questioned, breaking the silence of few minutes.
"I don't know."
Both of them sighed, the only thing they could listen to were the songs been played in the party through the in built speakers of the room.
"This Ain't It (?? ???; Ige Aninde)" - TAEYANG
If we bump into each other, what would happen?
Would I hide from you amongst the crowd,
even if it’s only a waste of insignificant feelings.
I worry throughout the day,
the medicine of time has passed,
but this isn’t it, this isn’t it, this isn’t it.
You may be smiling from happiness now.
You, the person who left hurtful scars more than happy memories,
I miss you more than I hate you,
I long for you more than I’m sad.
Is this not it? Is this not it?
It was so familiar from the start,
more than a long-time couple,
and now it’s nothing but insignificant memories.
I tried emptying out my heart that’s filled with you,
hoping something movie-like would happen to me.
I worry throughout the day,
the medicine of time has passed,
but this isn’t it, this isn’t it, this isn’t it.
Even I feel sorry for myself,
I want to bury this finished love,
but this can’t be it, this can’t be it, this can’t be it.
As the lyrics of Taeyang's song registered both Jiyong and Aeri's mind that moment, they couldn't help but remember the pain full memories their relationship gave them. Goose bumps covered Aeri's skin, Taeyang's voice just pierced through her heart touching a part of her it which held all her sufferings.
As the song approached it's ending, Aeri could no longer control herself.
