Ch 35. War of Hormone

Yeo Jin

A day in the beach with Jungkook’s hyungs. That’s bound to be interesting.

We rented a truck and Jin oppa took the wheel to drive to the beach.

I sat beside Jungkook and Jin oppa while the rest of them were sitting behind.

I stared out of the window and tapped my fingers on my knee.

I’m not exactly great with people I’ve just met. 

How should I interact with them? I thought

I thought of the different scenarios that could happen and mentally prepared myself.

I tried to think of all the questions I should ask them and activities that we could do together. 

Okay, Yeo Jin, you can do this. I told myself.

I felt Jungkook lean towards me as he put his arm around my shoulder.

“Don’t worry, my hyungs don’t bite.” Jungkook whispered in my ear.

I turned around to see his face. 

“Is it that obvious that I’m nervous?” I asked

He chuckled.

“Well you’re tapping your fingers and you’ve been restless ever since we got on the truck.” he said.

I looked down and tried to sit still.

“I’ll be right beside you. Just tell me if anything gets awkward and I’ll bring you home.” he murmured.

I shook my head.

“No, I’ll be okay!” I said defensively.

I didn’t need Jungkook to baby me. I think I’m old enough to take care of myself.

Jungkook sighed and backed away, loosening his grip on my shoulder.

I realised that I might have offended him. Was he trying to be sweet? 

I was still not really used to having him as a boyfriend although we were together for five months.

I need to be more careful of what I say.

We reached to a stop as Jin oppa parked the truck on the beach. 

I enjoyed the refreshing breeze in my face and inhaled the aroma of the salty seaside. 

The sound of waves crashing onto the shore was soothing and therapeutic to my ears.

“Let’s go!” Hoseok oppa shouted as he jumped off the truck.

He screamed in excitement and ran into the sea. 

I step foot on the soft warm sand and stretched my legs.

From the corner of my eye, I saw Taehyung oppa give a cheeky look at Jimin oppa. 

Suddenly, I was lifted off the ground and screamed in shock. 

Adrenaline rushed through my veins as I saw the sea draw closer and closer. 

Before I knew it, I was thrown into the sea. 

My whole body was completely drenched and I coughed out seawater. 

I brushed my hair aside and rubbed my eyes to see the culprits. 

Taehyung oppa and Jimin oppa hi-fived and laughed uncontrollably. 

“Oppa!” I shouted, splashing seawater at the both of them. 

“Welcome to the family, Sister in Law!” Jimin oppa chuckled.

I couldn’t help but smile at the silly duo. Who could be mad at them?

I saw Jungkook shoot a death glare at Jimin oppa and Taehyung oppa and they ran away.

Jungkook swam towards me and he helped me up to my feet as we reached the shore.

“Yeo Jin, are you okay?” he asked out of concern as he wrapped a towel around my body. 

His wet hair was tousled back and his shirt latched on his body, showing his toned muscles.

My eyes widened in amazement that he’s been hiding that all the time.

I looked away in embarrassment.

How can he look so good without even trying?

I shared the towel with him as he was equally drenched.

“I’m fine, really. They were just trying to be friendly.” I assured him, beaming a smile.

He was sometimes overprotective but very sweet.

“Do you have anything to change into?” he asked.

I looked down and just realised that my dark blue t-shirt and shorts were soaked to the brim. I couldn’t help but feel a little self-conscious. Fortunately, I was sensible enough to know not to wear white to a beach. Or not, I would be in a mess right now. 

“Yes, it’s in the truck.” I said.

He rushed off to the truck. In a speed of light, he was back with my bag and his bag in his hand.

I went off to the toilet to change into my black sleeved swimsuit. 

I went out and heard Jungkook let out a huge sigh of relief.

“You didn’t really expect me to wear something revealing, right? You know that I’m not that type of girl.” I blurted out.

He blushed.

“Jungkook, Yeo Jin, you’re missing out on all fun!” Namjoon oppa called out.

I saw all six of them in the water playing with a beach ball.

I stared at Jungkook in horror. I wasn’t much of a sports person and there was a reason why I stuck with drawing buildings instead. 

“You’ll be fine!” Jungkook assured me as he ran into the water to join them.

We split into two teams of four and played a modified version of volleyball. 

Jungkook taught me how to serve the ball and Hoseok oppa was patient enough to teach me the rules to the game.

The other members even tried to give me the ball so I could play along.

To my surprise, I really enjoyed the game and it was a lot of fun.

Besides, Jungkook was really athletic and volleyball was no exception. 

I watched him jump, dive into the water and really put in his all while playing the game.

His competitive side made my heart flutter.

I would be lying to say that I didn’t enjoy watching seven incredibly attractive guys play sports.

We spent the entire day in the beach and it was already getting late.

The beach looked beautiful with its orange skies. The crystal-clear water stretched far into the horizon and reflected the sun’s ray. 

We sat on the beach as we watched the sun gradually start to disappear. 

“Did you enjoy your time?” Jungkook murmured.

I leaned back and rested my head on his shoulder.

“Yes, it was perfect!”
