The funny thing about this first date thing is that after a month, it still hasn’t happened.

Sure. They are used to not seeing each other for months… but they planned a first date and she’s frustrated that it’s still. not. happening.

In Minhyuk’s defense, he texted her as soon as he got home after dropping her off. They set the date, the place, and the time. December 23 at 1:00 in the afternoon.

The original plan: drive to the amusement park, secure an all-day pass, eat dinner and watch the fireworks. Krystal loved the idea. Nothing thrills her as much as the thought of riding the roller coaster.

But… she forgot one thing.

A week before, Krystal woke up to see Jessica eating toast and scrolling through her phone at breakfast. (The fact that Jessica is awake this early puzzles Krystal, too.)

Jessica puts her phone down and looks at Krystal. “Good morning. You’re okay with driving us to grandma’s, right?”

Krystal nods. A 4-hour ride isn’t that bad, as long as they avoid the traffic jam.

“Hold on a minute! On the 24th? No. You know I don’t have patience for traffic jams.”

Jessica raises her eyebrow and her head. “What are you talking about? We’re leaving on the 23rd. Grandma’s expecting us to arrive by the 23rd. Sheesh so forgetful.”

December 23… can it be…

“No! No! Are you sure? Oh no.” Krystal’s shaking her head, closing her eyes as she tries to remember.

“Yes! You suggested it in the first place!” Right. She did. Right after her parents asked if she could drive them. This happened before she made plans with Minhyuk.

“Did you have other plans?”

Jessica’s voice is gentle now, expressing concern for her little sister who is having an internal panic attack at the moment.

“I was supposed to go on my first date with Minhyuk,” she said with a voice just above a whisper but Jessica heard her loud and clear.

Jessica doesn't say anything but her facial expression shows a mischievous smirk and concerned eyes.

“Can’t you reschedule?”
