This time, she sees him first. Krystal ignored the heat creeping up her cheeks.

They’re having a dinner in a café near Luna’s school. They have planned to meet up for dinner on this day but Luna has exams next week. To compromise, they decided to meet up somewhere near her dorm so she could rest and study right after.

She looks at him again. He’s sitting in the corner, alone, with earphones on. He’s biting the end of his pen while reading through books and handouts. Wait. He’s studying? Krystal raises her brow in thought. Sulli and Victoria’s sniggering brought her back to her senses. She turns and sees a hurt expression on Luna’s face and Amber is trying to hold back her laughter.

“What?”

Luna feigns hurt and anger, “You’re not listening to me!”

“Sorry.” Krystals put her attention back on Luna, ready to listen to the rest of her story. But Luna’s expression softens and her lips turn to a smirk.

“He might melt from your stare, you know.” and Krystal blushes.

“How dense can he be to not notice our Krystal staring at him?” Victoria questions.

“Well, he is dense. You’d think Krystal is hard to get. But Minhyuk is worse.” Amber answers and earns surprised faces from Sulli, Victoria, and Luna. Krystal’s just glad nobody notices her reddening cheeks.

“You know him?” Sulli asks the question they’re all thinking.

“Yeah. We're childhood friends.” Amber shrugs.

“So… I think you should introduce them. Who wouldn’t fall for our Krystal?” Victoria’s on to her mother instincts again, setting up the youngest daughter with a date.

Amber shows her widest grin with a glint in her eyes.

“Krystal hasn’t been telling you much, has she? They already know each other from college and they’ve met up twice this year already.”

“WHAT?!” Sulli, Victoria, and Luna say in unison. Their sudden outburst earns them a glare from the other customers, including Minhyuk.

Her friends are looking at her and she keeps her head slightly bowed down. She says in defense “It’s not like that! We were classmates! And circumstances just happen!” then adds in a whisper “Keep it down and cool, will you, he’s looking at us.”
