Junhee yawns as she rolls over the bed to turn off the alarm on her phone. She sits up straight on the bed, tying her chest-length hair messily into a bun before she lets out another big yawn. Junhee then checks the time on her phone. She gasps out loud. It’s eight thirty. She must have snoozed the alarm in her phone in sleepiness. Yifan and his mother will fetch her in half an hour! Junhee literally jumps out of the bed and heads straight to the bathroom.

She takes ten minutes. After managing to dry her hair quickly with the hair dryer for about five minutes, she takes out a plain white sweatshirt with a pair of denim jeans. She takes another ten minutes for combing her hair (she doesn’t tie them), applying cream on her face and applies a very, very light lipstick. She takes her black leather clutch bag before putting her phone and lip balm inside it before rushing outside.

Junhee carefully takes her steps to downstairs to the dining room. Her mother sends a sweet smile at her as soon as she spots her daughter all dressed up. Madam Kim gives a pat behind her husband, and the father peers up from the newspaper who’s seated at the head of the dining table. Siwon smiles, settling the newspaper aside and gestures her daughter to come beside her. “Morning, Dad,” Junhee kisses on her father’s right temple softly, earning a content sigh from him.

“You’re pretty today.”

Junhee rolls her eyes, a smirk on her lips, “You tell me that every morning. Why don’t you say that to your wife?” She laughs when she sees her mother who’s pouting sadly. “Don’t laugh, young girl. Will you laugh at Heesul unnie like that?” Junhee stops laughing in an instant. “Mom,” She looks at her wristwatch, “We need to wait outside. They must be waiting―” “Have a sandwich first, dear. You haven’t eaten anything.” Junhee’s stomach growls lowly in hunger. She’s glad that none of them hears it.

Siwon leads the ladies to the porch and a limousine arrives right on time. “Take care, Kyu,” He pecks on his wife’s lips, earning a faint blush, “Take care of Junhee too.” Kyurin nods in response with a soft smile, ignoring Junhee’s snort and also her grumbles of ‘I’m not a kid anymore please stop’. “Let’s go. Take care, Won.” Siwon waves at them from the entrance of the house. Junhee smiles as she spots Yifan who’s coming out from the vehicle.

Yifan smiles back. He has to hold back himself from staring at the casual attire of Junhee’s and wants to greet Junhee’s mother but before he can, he sneezes. He quickly apologizes. “Don’t apologize for sneezing, dear. Did you catch a cold?” Yifan nods, missing the worried look of Junhee’s from beside her. “Aww… You should’ve called Junhee or else we can postpone it.” Yifan knows that Madam Kim mustn’t have known that he don’t have Junhee’s number yet.

“It’s alright, Madam Ki― Mother.”

He sees her smiling sweetly. “You look good, young man,” Madam Kim pats on Yifan’s left cheek twice and earns a sheepish smile from him. “Thank you, Mother. You look good too.” She squeals while hugging Junhee’s left arm tightly. “Mom, please,” The young lady whines, “You’re dead if Dad finds out.” Yifan laughs softly at that. “Go in first, Yifan. Is Heesul unnie inside?” Yifan nods towards Junhee’s mother’s direction before obeying her.

She then looks at her daughter, “Go in.” Junhee’s eyes widens, “What―” “Just go in.” Junhee obeys in an instant. She smiles awkwardly towards Yifan once she’s inside. “Good morning, Mada― Mother.” Yifan’s mother lets out a big smile at the title, “Good morning~” The elder ladies exchanges knowing looks as they made their children to sit beside each other. The ride is filled with the wives’ chatters, with Junhee unconsciously shifting closer to Yifan because her mother reasoned she can’t hear Madam Wu’s voice.

Lies.

Kyurin wants her to get close to Yifan as close as possible. Too bad, the mothers don’t earn any good responses from both of them. Yifan fidgets uncomfortably by the close proximity. He tries to move away from Junhee because he keeps on sneezing but her mother pushes him to her side to talk to Junhee’s mother, making their shoulders to brush. Yifan is wearing a black polo shirt, and is thankful that Junhee don’t have the long sleeves of her sweatshirt folded.

Or else a simple touch of skin can make Yifan to be nervous. Don’t blame him, he’s just an innocent man who doesn’t know about skinship or how to initiate one. “Is the place we’re going too far?” Yifan looks down to his right side and sees Junhee with a― Yifan gulps. Junhee is pouting, making her lips to look somewhat kissable as ever. “Uh,” He peers down to his wristwatch to avoid staring, “Another five minutes more.” He then hears a sigh. He bravely looks at her again.

Yifan internally sighs in relief because she isn’t pouting anymore. “Don’t worry,” He takes Junhee’s attention as she stares up at him, and he smiles, “We’ll be there soon.” Junhee returns the smile in response before playing with the end of her clutch bag. Yifan notices that they’re almost wearing similar sneakers. Junhee’s version is white, while his is black. Yifan smiles to himself. It looks like they have the same taste.

Little that he should have known, the mothers are watching him in silence with happy smiles on their faces. Junhee sighs in relief as they finally arrive. She feels like she made Yifan to be uncomfortable from the ride. He even keeps on sneezing. Is it because of the fabric of her sweatshirt? “Junhee? Where are you going? It’s this way, honey,” Yifan’s mother clings an arm around her right arm. Junhee blushes in embarrassment. She almost went to the other shop.

The bridal boutique isn’t that big, but it isn’t that small either. “Welcome!” She spots a young couple who greets them as soon as they enter the shop. She then sees Yifan’s mother and her mother conversing about something. Just when Junhee wants to talk to Yifan, a lady who’s quite taller than her approaches her. “Hi! I’m Qian. Your mother has chosen some dresses for you and she wants you to wear it whether you like it or not.” Junhee searches for her mother and glares at her.

“Please, Junhee?”

Junhee sighs, “Fine, fine,” She gives in eventually. “Good! Now give me your bag.” Junhee frowns, “Why?” She asks, curious. “Because I don’t want you to attend any phone calls today.” Junhee almost whines, “But―” “Give me.” Junhee surrenders as she hands her bag before following the tall lady. Yifan almost chuckles, smiling. “Ahem.” Yifan turns around and sees his own mother who’s looking at him. Madam Wu eyes his pockets, “You too, mister. Give your phone and your wallet.”

Yifan almost whines, but not until he remembers that Madam Kim is there with them. “Go follow Jungsoo and wear the ones that I’ve chosen for you, okay?” As usual, Yifan can’t say no. Once he’s out from the mothers’ sight, the man who leads him towards the fitting room smiles before bowing at him. “My name is Park Jungsoo. Just call me hyung. I’m not that old.” Yifan laughs lightly, “Alright, hyung.” Jungsoo then shows him three different colors of suits.

Yifan doesn’t like all of them at first glance, especially the purple one. People will think that he’s a serial killer if he wears the purple. Same goes to Junhee. She likes purple but, she thinks about Yifan’s suit too. Purple suit will not suit him at all. White is too common in a wedding. Blue is nice but… It’s an off-shoulder. Junhee isn’t interested in those kind of dresses. But since it’s her mother’s wish, she will put on all of them.

“Qian unnie, um, I don’t think I like this…”

Junhee seriously doesn’t like the purple one. It reveals too much of her chest. She surely doesn’t want to attract anyone’s attention there. “I agree, Junhee. Let me tell your mother, okay?” Junhee nods, sighing in relief. “Let me take a picture of you.” Blinking, Junhee just stands there like a rock. She doesn’t know how to pose. “Put your left hand on your hip,” Qian doesn’t laugh but smiles softly. Once the picture is taken, Qian said she will be back in a while.

Junhee peeks from the curtains and sees so sight of a certain taller male. “Looking for your future husband?” Junhee gasps, “Mom!” She giggles in reply, “Looking good, Junhee―” “I’m not. I don’t like this. You know I don’t like exposure. Why do you want me to wear such dresses, Mom?” Her mother’s face instantly changes into worry, “I’m sorry, dear. I’ve never seen you wear anything y―” “I don’t want to be y, Mom. I just want to be me.” Kyurin sighs.

She just wants to see her daughter in those dresses. “Alright. You can choose the dress but,” Kyurin holds one of her daughter’s arms as she sees her almost walking away, “Can I just see you in the dresses that I’ve chosen for you?” She pouts a little. “Fine. As long as I get to choose,” Junhee kisses on her mother’s left cheek. As Junhee keeps on changing with her mother aweing her beauty, Yifan begs his mother to choose something else.

“Please, Ma? I don’t want to wear the purple. I’ll look like the Joker!”

His mother bursts out laughing after attempting to show a serious face. “See? You’re even laughing!” She then pats on her son’s chest in a comforting manner, “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to laugh at you, honey. You choose what to wear, okay? I just want to see you in different color suit since you’re always wearing black,” She pouts. Yifan sighs, “Fine. I’ll wear them for you. I get to choose, right?” His mother nods with a smile, “The white one looks good though. Why don’t you choose that?”

Yifan whines, “You said I get to choose, Ma. I didn’t choose the white one because it’s too common. I want something different.” Madam Wu nods in amusement. Once the mothers are reunited, they talked about their children’s opinion of their attire. “Junhee says she wants something different,” Kyurin informs. “Really? Yifan said that too.” Both mothers have a knowing smile on their faces and they can’t wait for the results.

“Qian unnie,” Junhee slyly smiles as she spots something just to her style in first look, “I want this,” She shows a black and red dress to her. No off-shoulder. No short sleeves. Not short. Finally, Junhee says mentally as she manages to wear them and sees her own reflection. “Wow,” Qian claps behind her back. Junhee shows the brightest smile of hers. Not only she wants something different, she kind of wants to impress Yifan too.

Brushing the thought away, Qian excuses herself to call out for her mother. Junhee sighs. Why did she think like that just now? It’s not they’re already a real couple. The dress needs to be altered a little, because Junhee is quite slim. Meanwhile, Yifan has tried the purple, the white and even the blue tux. He admits that he likes the blue but it looks kind of dull. He wants something bright yet not too bright. Something then catches his attention in first look.

“Is it okay if I choose this, hyung?”

Jungsoo hums, “Red is okay, but black?” Yifan smiles, “Not all black colors are bad luck, hyung. I would’ve dyed my hair if that color really means bad luck.” Jungsoo laughs before taking the black and red tuxedo for him to wear. Yifan smiles as he straightens the front of the suit once he has worn them. He likes it. The suit doesn’t need to be altered. It suits perfectly on him. He wonders what dress that Junhee has chosen.

Once he’s back with his casual attire, he walks out from the changing room and sees a sad-looking Junhee. “What’s wrong?” He asks his mother, pulling her to the back a little. “Junhee’s dress needs time to be altered. Almost one week.” Yifan frowns, “One week? The wedding―” “I know, honey. That’s why she’s sad. Qian is trying to convince the seller whether they can fix it today because the dress has only one type.” Yifan looks at his future wife, she still looks sad.

“What color is her dress, Ma?”

He can’t help but to ask. “It’s black and red. What ‘bout you? What did you choose?” Yifan smiles, causing his mother to be curious, “I chose the same color too.” She squeals loudly, “Oh my God! It must be fate!” Yifan rolls his eyes, letting out a snort, “It’s just a coincidence.” His mother scowls, “Yeah, right. Now go and cheer her up or something. She really looks sad.” Madam Wu doesn’t need to say it twice. She sees her son heading towards Junhee.

She smiles widely before going to Madam Kim to tell her about it. “Are you okay?” Junhee snaps her head to the right side and sees the taller guy beside her. She weakly smiles, “Yeah. Just… Kind of disappointed.” Junhee feels a hand on her right shoulder and also a squeeze. “It’ll be okay. Don’t be sad.” Junhee feels her heart racing. She thinks that it’s normal because she has never let any guy to touch her. It’s normal, She repeats, It’s definitely normal.

Junhee sends him a short strained smile at him before looking away. She doesn’t realize that her mother has left her to Madam W
