Author's Notes
'lo to my readers.
So this is on the late side but I hope you were amused anyways. I have the sad news that Ella was literally the only on-time applicant. Makes me sad. But at least I already gained another applicant. (Thanks Soony.) Anyways, this chapter was harder to decide on what to write. I had already used the playing for other cliche for my own teaser and then Xana's was the light-hearted amusing one. This is where this one ended up. Enjoy.

She was going to throw it out the window.
Yup, today was the day.
This was utterly ridiculous and completely unfair. How was she supposed to prove that the two sides were equal? There was no way to convert cos x to sin x with that tan2 x in the way. This was utterly ridiculous. Algebra and geometry and all the other ugly maths had not prepared her for trigonometry.
Nope.
Forget this.
She shoved the book off of her bed, the mass dragging her notebook down along the way. Her pencil rolled off slowly and she followed it with her eyes until it landed on her textbook, the lead making a stray mark coincidentally right through the question she had been stuck on. She huffed, crossing her arms.
"Mimi? What in the world?"
She looked up, spotting her brother in the doorway. She rolled her eyes and stared pointedly at the mess until he understood. He whistled, jokingly impressed.
"I'm sure the book stood no chance," he teased, walking around the pile and flopping on her bed.
"Shut up Vernon," she complained, shoving him lightly. He lost his balance but regained it almost immediately, cackling at her misfortune.
"Well what's your plan now?" he asked casually, practically draping himself over her lap.
"Mourn my lack of math abilities," she answered, half kidding as she laid back on the mountain of pillows on her bed.
"Oh hey, wasn't today the update for that game you really liked?" he reminded, straightening up. She thought about the date (being dependent on her phone for the day was probably not a good thing) and finally sat up, nearly throwing Vernon off of her in her haste.
