AUTHOR'S NOTES
Soul here!
A sneak peek into how my character (Eve) begins playing SOULART. It's also a look into my writing style. Hopefully it doesn't put you off too much. I'm thinking about doing a teaser for every applicant, just a vignette on how they began playing the game or perhaps a look into how they know Allied Heart (perhaps both). There was a moment of silence, a breath between one second and the next in which the atmosphere seemed to suspend in between dimensions.
"Eve!" he whispered in horror, voice drowned by the sudden rush of sound - Dr. Park shouting to prep the operation room! stat! just over the shrill ring of the receptionist's telephone and the multitude of undiscernable conversations in the hallways - because the moment of silence was broken beyond repair, but she could still hear his cry ring in her heart.
She knew him, knew the way his lips formed over her name from years of sharing space with an ease that fascinated others. She loved him, loved his laugh and smile even though they weren't present at the moment. In a way, she was him, was him in the ways that it mattered, because she knew the moment her name left his lips, that he would try to slip away.
Sure enough, he turned to the orderly pushing his wheelchair, mouth moving a mile a minute, and
