Junah couldn’t stay still. Her heart was pounding as she drummed her fingernails against her bouncing knees, her eyes looked from left to right, down her brown timbers and up at the ceiling — she was that nervous. She couldn’t sleep at all last night because she dreaded this day for the longest time. She gulped, checking the date once again, having doubts once again because she was the only girl waiting.

October 8, 2016.

The day they release the report cards.

​Lee Junah is a very diligent student, she works hard and was very determined to earn a spot in honors. She passes her projects before the due dates even if it means sacrificing sleep and meals for a day. She knew ​she deserved that, and she believes the teachers had observed her efforts, so she’s really, really hoping to have an average of 86 and above.

The space next to her gave an aggonized creak as another student sat on the same bench as her. She jerked her head to the right and was caught off guard to see Hyungwon’s attractive side profile.

​Chae Hyungwon has been her classmate for two years straight now, after transferring last year. Junah had wrinkled her nose at him when she saw him for the very first time. Because although she didn’t like judging a book by it’s cover, we still do that unknowingly whenever we see the person. And it was no different with Chae Hyungwon. In her eyes, he looked like that snobby rich kid who thinks he can get everything he wants, bully anyone he wants, talk back to anyone he wants, and be invited to all those hardcore parties and most of all, be that campus playboy that girls would fall in line for just to get his damn attention.

But she was wrong. Well, all except for the part where girls still fall in line for him. Who wouldn’t anyway? Even Junah herself thinks he’s attractive but she’ll never admit that out loud, especially not in his face.

​Hyungwon was a mysterious fellow, he tends to observe more and hardly talks to anyone but his small group of friends who are the complete opposite of his attitude. Yet, hestill manages to fit in with them and never once seemed out of place. Maybe because all of them have equally charming faces, who knows.

​Junah blinked rapidly, snapping out of her reverie only to see Hyungwon staring back at her.

​Did I just — like — blanked out while staring ​at him?!

​​She tore her gaze away, turning her head to the left so the boy wouldn’t see the blush creeping up of her face, up until the tips of her ears. I can’t believe I’ve been staring this whole time. OMG. I wish the ground would swallow —

“Are you not going to see your report card?”
