CHAPTER 10

The Billionaire And The High Schooler

OH MY GOD IT HAS BEEN MORE THAN A MONTH SINCE I LAST UPDATED. I AM SORRY. I REALLY AM SORRY FOR MY TARDINESS. PLEASE FORGIVE ME THINKING ME AS YOUR SISTER. *DOES 90 DEGREE BOW*

Han Ri was in front of Joong Ki’s house with some grocery bags in her hand. She huffed out a small breath in happiness but soon had a stressed look when no one opened the door and realized that Joong Ki was probably in his office. Han Ri whined a little as she slumped herself on the door as if doing that the door would take her in. Han RI just stupidly danced and made some crazy inhuman sound pacing back and forth before she realized that he had saved his number on her phone. She quickly took her phone out and dialed his number.

Joong Ki was in his office looking at some of the paper works when his phone rang. Without taking off his eyes from the papers he picked up the phone.

“Ye—

“Ahjushiiiiii………….” Joong Ki flinched at the ear deafening voice. “Where are you?”

“Where do you think I am?”

“At a party with lots of underdressed ladies.” Joong Ki looked up from his work and made a distasteful look.

“What makes you think that I’m doing something so underrated thing?”

“Well you’re a man with lots of money and I know most rich people love to waste their money on those types of girls. Bleh!!” Joong KI smiled at her reaction.

“I’m sorry but not all rich men do those stuffs. Some people are really busy with their work life they hardly get some time to entertain themselves.”

“So you’re saying you have never done those stuffs.”

“Nope, never.”

“Liar.” Han Ri murmured to herself but unfortunately Joong Ki heard it crystal clear but made no attempt to make any comment about it.

“Did you just call me to disturb my work or what?” He asked Han Ri signing the papers.

“Oh! I called you to ask when you will arrive.”

“Why?”

“So I could prepare a grand welcome function for you.” Joong Ki stopped his work processing what she said properly. “I just wanted to get inside the house and start my work soon. Don’t give your mind so much stress.”

“Then start working who’s stopping you.”

“Well I could but the door is locked and I don’t have the keys.”

“Oh! How could I forget?” Joong Ki leaned his head on his palm and massaged his temples. “Just wait for little more. I’ll be there in few minutes.”

“Hurry! Fast. I’m gonna die in any minute.” Joong Ki hung up the phone shaking his head.

“Such a dramatic queen.” He left his work half done and grabbed his coat from the chair after the phone call ended.

“Mr. Kim if you don’t mind I’ll Leave early.” Joong Ki interrupted a busy Mr. Kim who was working on his laptop. Once Joong Ki said those words he got a bit shock because Joong Ki wasn’t the type of person to leave way early than the office time. He was what you say a real example of workaholic “And I couldn’t check this file properly so I’ll give it tomorrow alright.”

“Huh?” Joong Ki raised his brows at Mr. Kim who quickly composed himself and cleared his throat. “I hope you’ll have a nice ride back home.”

Joong Ki nodded at Mr. Kim’s bow and headed to the elevator. Once the elevator came to the first floor he walked like a real king earning every ladies attention. To give more effect to his hard working image he made a tired face and loosen his collar a bit. Joong Ki stopped mid way when a sight caught his attention. Nearby the fountain he saw a little boy with a latest version of tablet, a little further he saw a girl probably in her middle school showing off her friends a new phone which looked really costly.

“There are young kids that haven’t learnt to take first steps with latest smart phones. And then there is this high school kid in her senior year that uses a phone that could be put in museum as an antique.” Joong Ki sighed before shrugging the thought and heading to the car that was waiting for him.

Han Ri was in front of Joong Ki’s house sitting on the steps humming some unknown song and bobbing her head. Han Ri quickly stood up when she saw a car pulled up in front of the house. Han Ri wasn’t a bit shocked to see Joong Ki come out of that expensive looking car but sure was mad.

“Ahjushi.. What is this? You always talk about my tardiness and you. What’s with you coming one hour late?” Joong Ki completely ignored Han Ri’s rant and went to open the door. He put the card on the sensor unlocking the door.

“Are you even listening what I am saying? I stayed out at the freezing cold for one hour. What would you do if I died?” Han Ri kept on ranting until the both of them were inside and Joong Ki made a stop and faced her.

“You didn’t die right. So stop complaining.”

“How can I not? You made a girl wait. Don’t you know you should never make someone wait for you? It’s bad manners.”

“I don’t think that I asked you to come here to teach me manners. Just go and do some work. I need to freshen up.” Joong Ki shooed Han RI like she was animal which made her quite annoyed and pulled a fist at him. Right at that time Joong Ki turned and saw her position.

“What are you doing?”

“What am I doing?” Han Ri played innocent swinging her arms. “Do you want anything?” She batted her lashes to make her innocent look more effective.

“Yes. I’m hungry. Why don’t you go and make me something.” Han Ri made and ‘Ok’ sign and hoped away.

“What kind of maniac have I let in my house?” Joong Ki went inside his room shaking his head.

Han Ri was preparing some amazing food for her annoying boss. She made a face when she tried the soup because of it's hotness but soon changed into delightful one because of the taste. Just as Han Ri was making the table Joong Ki came into the hall freshly dressed up. He sniffed the food and smiled in delight.

“It smells delicious. You actually have some talents, don’t you?” Joong Ki teased Han Ri as he sat down but the latter one made no comment about and sat on the chair beside him.

“Ahjushii…..”

“Humm…”

“Would you mind if I ask you something?”

“Yeah go on.”

“Why are you so rude and arrogant?” Joong Ki stopped eating and looked at Han Ri questioningly. “No I didn’t mean to be rude but you know I’m just worried.”

“Worried? About what? Who? Me?”

“No, not you but your future wife.”

“Why are you worried about my future wife Miss Min Han Ri?” He asked emphasising the two words future and wife.

“Because you make me want to. You always have this look and tone that say do not mess with me or I’ll make your life hell.”

“Well if you don’t shut up I’m going to make your life hell.”

“See. This is what I’m talking about. Ahjushi if you want a happy family in future you need to throw this ruthless act and start being nice. I always feel sad every time when I imagine about you and your future children.” Joong Ki choked on his food.

“Then don’t imagine. Who asked you to think about my future? I don’t remember asking you to.”

“Still can you imagine how an innocent child will be affected to have such monstrous human as their father?” Joong Ki made a shocked and offended look.

“You know I actually brought a gift for you thinking about your hard work but I guess you aren’t interested to have it.”

“Gift? What gift? You bought me a gift.”

“No, some half creeper I met in front of my house bought it for you.”

“Can I see?” Han RI smiled innocently batting her lashes.

“Don’t pull that coy act. I’m not giving it to you.”

“Please. Please.” Han Ri used baby tone with her famous pout.

“Ok fine, stop. I’ll bring it.” Joong Ki quickly got up from the chair and went inside his room to bring the gift leaving the giddy high school girl alone to have her little party.

“Here.” Han Ri squealed unwrapping the gift. “Slow down. The gift won’t disappear.” Joong KI smiled in amusement seeing her get all happy like a kid in Christmas. Han Ri eyes went large and gasped at the gift.

“Ahjushi. What is this?”

“It’s a cell phone. What do you see?” Han Ri rolled her eyes.

“I know what this is. But can I ask you why this expensive thing?”

“You looked really happy a moment ago.”

“That was WHEN I didn’t know what this was. This looks really costly; I already have too much debt on you. I- I can’t.”

“Why are you talking about debt? I’m not lending you this I’m gifting you. Just take it. And you shouldn’t see the price when people give you gift.” With that said Joong Ki went back to eating while Han RI stayed their gazing at him.

“Till when do I’ve to carry on doing this?” She asked the question all of a sudden making her boss halt and look at her attentively.

“Why? Are you going to give up already? I thought you could do anything to save your father’s job.”

“No it’s not. It’s just… Just eat. You’d have been a lot hungry after working hard today.” Han Ri stood up as she let out a tired sigh but stopped midway when Joong Ki held her hand.

“Sit and tell me what’s wrong?”

“It’s nothing. It just feels bad to lie to my parents every day.”

“Why? What did you lie?”

“My parents think I’m taking some extra course so I could give my best in my exam. They have so much expectation from me but here I am lying to them.”

“I don’t think so you should feel bad about it.” Han Ri looked at her master in confusion. “Whether you are lying to them or not you are doing this for their benefit, right? And a lie isn’t bad if you are lying for your family’s sake.” Han RI gave a small smile nodding her head.

“Wow… This is really good. Have some too.” Han RI couldn’t help but stare at Joong Ki for a moment admiringly while he enjoyed the food she made.
