They had said before that Sana and I were the perfect match.

That she was loud and I was silent.

That she was clumsy and I was careful.

That she was extroverted and I was introverted.

That she was cute and I was y.

I would’ve blushed like a red tomato at that.

She was my polar opposite according to them. I would agree too. It was true. Everything I wasn’t Sana was and everything that Sana wasn’t was me. Sana was the kind of girl to wear brightly colored clothes whereas I was the kind to wear clothes in the darker shade. Sana was effortlessly funny and I was inarticulate with jokes. What else was there? But ultimately, Sana and I searched for different things in romance.

We got along because we knew we would never fight about anything.

During our Twice dorm days, Sana and I shared a room together, and even before during our trainee years. It was always the two of us stuck with each other—2na or Tuna, however the fans spelled it. And when it was time to move out, it was also time that we slept in different rooms.

“Why does it feel like we’re getting a divorce?” She told me as she helped me pack.

“Because couples getting a divorce do not sleep in the same room,” I answered.

I was the first to move out from the group. I wanted to take her with me, because I hadn’t been separated from my best friend since day one.

“You deserve the peace and quiet you have been longing for.” She burst into laughter.

The plus side to living alone was truly that. Without the others or Sana, as awful as that sounded, it would be quiet. I could finally get the silent relaxation I dreamed of every time I would arrive back at the dorm after a day’s long of schedules.

“Do you think I can manage on my own though?” I asked her.

“I’m sure you can!” She cheered. “You need to be independent!” She left the boxes and held my shoulders, giving me a peptalk like my mom would. “You are a woman now, Myoui Mina!”

I laughed at her unbearable cuteness. “Then what does that make you?”

“A woman too!” She said, raising her fist in the air. “A woman who will eventually move out of this dorm and find a place of her own!”

I realized that I had asked the wrong person about the question on managing. “But can you manage on your own?” Knowing her inablity to hold things without them unbalancing and other clumsy traits.

Sana paused for a while, then resumed to her jolly state. “Yes! Because I will be asking some of the members to move in with me so they can help me manage on my own!”

I stuck my palm to my forehead in a frustrated manner, but I was still laughing from the silliness I was hearing from her.

Sana was the sunshine to my sky.

“Are you really sure you don’t want to room with me instead? The apartment I got is literally large enough for all of us to move into. Come on.” I pouted to convince her.

She smiled at me. “I know how much you’ve been wanting to have your own home where you can have all the space you want, Mina. If you’re worried about me being by myself, don’t worry,” she assured. “I’ll get by. I will miss my roommate but it’s not like I won’t see you, right?”

The pout didn’t work but I did get all the silence and the peace and the space in the world inside my Gangnam apartment. Only when I was alone though, because sometimes everyone would drop by and visit. And when they did, I was glad my apartment didn’t spin upside down.

Much like what was happening right now when Sana decided to sleep over after practice.

I got out of the shower and checked the living room, only to see my dearest best friend, also in her pajamas, laying on my couch with one leg on the backrest and the other on the floor with a bowl of popcorn resting on her abdomen. She was deeply immersed in the drama she was watching that she pr
