"Taemin, Taemin..." a soft voice whispered.

"Try again?" another one called out in the darkness. Taemin lazily tried to wake himself up, but was miserably failing.

"TAEMIN!"

"WHAT!?" Taemin shot up, his eyes darting around in complete surprise.

"Oh good you're alive. We were starting to get worried. You looked so creepy. You had this weird smile on your face," Taemin's bandmate Key finished saying.

"Good dream I'm guessing?" Minho also asked.

"Very. I-I mean it was nothing really. Just need a rest I guess." Taemin smiled timidly.

Once he was sure they were convinced he let himself begin to daydream again. He couldn't get the memory of Minzy agreeing to be his girlfriend out of his mind.

"Hmm... I don't know. You know pretty boys aren't exactly my style," Minzy had .

Taemin remembered feeling his heart racing and his expression must have revealed his fading confidence because Minzy had quickly bent down to comfort him and assure him that she would love to be his girlfriend. He remembered jumping up in joy and almost screaming out what had happened, but Minzy had quickly reminded him that a photographer could be lurking anywhere. So he settled for a quick peck on the lips from her and a walk back to her dorm.

Ever since that night he was eager to see her again and hold her and just be around each other doing nothing serious and being far from work. But Taemin knew that was still a little far off. He had a week left of solo promotions to finish and Minzy was spending a lot of her time on her  new dance studio.

"Taemin...you're doing it again," Minho said while shaking his head. "Man give a maknae a solo and he already thinks he's a star by having his head in the clouds." Minho continued to . 

"Oh sorry," Taemin scolded himself internally for beig so obvious. He thought about what Minzy would say if she were here.

"Um so anyway what's this meeting we have later about?" Taemin questioned Minho.

"Who knows, but apparently they want everyone there" Minho informed Taemin.

"Hmm I wonder what it could be about then..." Taemin wondered before heading to the dance studio to sneak in an extra practice before the meeting.

"MinTae? How about Taeminzy? Or ooh what about just Taemin!" Dara was bouncing  off the walls in excitement after Minzy finished telling her and the other girls about Taemin's proposal a few nights ago.

"Or how about shh" Minzy said trying to calm down her unnie. "It really isn't that big of a deal."

"Yah! Of course it is. It's so cute!" Bom gushed while holding her blushing cheeks. She couldn't help but gush over Minzy's relationship.

"Chaerin please make them stop." Minzy begged while turning her attention towards Chaerin who was sitting in the corner of the dance room tying her Nike sneakers.

"Well I can't exactly do that Minzy, because it is kind of a big deal. I mean at first glance you two don't seem to be the perfect match. I mean he's a total flower boy." Chaerin scoffed.

At the comment Minzy couldn't help but look down at her outfit. She was clad in a glittery cropped Adidas jersey  paired with black low rider baggy pants. Her designer sneakers were a bit scuffed at the edges from use. Minzy knew she wasn't like those frail beauty queens that Taemin's company seemed to be full of but she still thought her and Taemin weren't that strange of a match.

"We're not that different..." Minzy mumbled.

But the other members didn't hear Minzy's quiet remark and continued to banter amongst themselves.

"He does look a bit like a girl," Dara quipped.

"And his whole company is so boring and predictable. They'd probably hide if they saw someone like us or Minzy walk in," Bom continued laughing at the idea.

"Well Minzy can tell us when they all meet next week." Chaerin said.

"Next week? What are you talking about?" Minzy asked in confusion.

"Oh I must have forgotten to tell you," Chaerin said offhandedly " Well, YG chose you,Taeyang, and a few of the WINNER guys to represent the company on this new show on Mnet. It's like a dance survival show. I'm not sure about all the details. But there are a bunch of battles between other companies like JYP,SM, Cube, and you know all the rest. Sometimes it's girls v. girls or guys v. guys. The whole point is that by the end of all the fun the company with the most wins gets crowned the best dance company or something like that I think."

"And you're just telling me now!?" Minzy yelled feeling a bit overwhelmed by the mention of so much competition. But mostly she was concerned about hiding her relationship around that many people.

"Don't worry Minzy. Think of it as your time to meet the family" Dara offered in a bubbly manner.

"Yeah we were just kidding early about all that stuff about you two being opposites. I'm sure his friends are excited to get to meet a YG artist." Bom bragged.

"I guess," Minzy started, "I mean everyone knows YG artists are-

"Criminals!" Hyoyeon shouted.

Taemin winced at her screaming but was even more hurt to see the nods around the room.

"Yeah I mean no offense, but they always act like they're too cool to talk to anyone else." Kai said

"Plus they dress like they're gangsters or something." Krystal added in a haughty tone.

The others had been just informed about which companies were competing in this new dance program. When the staff member reading off the information got to YG, lets just say many in SM were immediately unhappy.Taemin tried to hide the disappointment in his face. He knew it was a long  shot but he was hoping one day he'd be able to introduce Minzy to all of his friends at SM. But by the look of things that was was too much to ask for.

"So which of us is competing on this dance show?" Taemin asked wanting to change the subject.

"Well the list says we can rotate new members in and out but the starting line up will be... Hyoyeon, Kai, Minho, Victoria, Taemin, and a newer trainee named Sua."

Taemin visibly brightened when his name was called out. He knew for sure YG would send Minzy to a show like this and he was looking forward to seeing her more often.

"Well you know what that means " Hyoyeon announced loudly " We have to stick together. SM before anyone else. I mean how else are we going to crush the competition?"

"Yeah they don't stand a chance!" Kai added in.

Taemin again managed a weak smile while slumping in his seat. Things weren't going to change he realized. Things had just gotten a lot harder for his relationship and he found himself sighing at the conflict that may be ahead.

Sorry for the late update. I'm still taking exams so these first few chapters of the story may be a little slow. But don't worry I'll make sure to finish the story. I hope you are enjoying it so far. This chapter was kind of background info to set up the later action of the story. Please leave comments and feedback ^.^ And sorry if some of the people seemed OOC. I'm not trying to insult any of the stars used in the story. It's just for a fun narrative, so don't take things too personally and enjoy the story
