Sunlight awakened JB, but as soon as he opened his eyes, the throbbing that resonated through his head made him immediately wish that he hadn’t. He had begun to sit up, but stopped up short and laid back on the pillows under him, groaning and rolling over onto his back as he placed an arm over his eyes.
“Look who’s finally up,” a familiar voice commented, making JB pause. “I was starting to think you died.” It was overhead; JB opened his eyes just enough to make out a blurry image of a couple of people on the floor with him, as well as one dark haired person – the speaker – seated on the bed above him. “Did you have fun last night, party animal?”
“Where am I…?” JB muttered, closing his eyes again.
“My place,” Jackson responded.
“Since you trashed mine,” another familiar voice – Mark – commented on the other side of the room. JB frowned.
“What? What happened?”
“Sit up, JB.” This voice was feminine; JB opened his eyes as Iris knelt next to him, a bottle of water and a BC powder packet in her hands. “The sooner you take it, the better; I know from experience.”
“Shut up,” Jackson muttered. It took some effort and some pain but JB managed to sit up in his pallet of blankets on the floor, thanking Iris lowly as he took the items from her. “Man, you look like .”
“You seriously don’t remember what happened?” Iris inquired; JB shook his head slightly, closing his eyes as he downed the medicine. The taste of it made his stomach turn; Iris held the water bottle up further before he could
