Chapter Nine
Under the Blue UmbrellaJinyoung rushed inside his apartment, the tears on the verge of falling out. He ran inside his room and shut the door behind him. His legs gave out and he fell onto the ground, tears streaming his face. It seemed that everything was being taken away from him. He’ll never be able to see Iseul once Iseul moves with Sooyoung. He’ll never be able to talk and laugh and stare at Jaebum’s face again. All the tears brought him back to the time when he and Iseul were living with their parents. Jinyoung wished he could go back to that time and relive the feeling of being free, of being able to take care of his problems easily with the help of others he trusted. But now he couldn’t trust Jaebum. Jaebum seemed to be back with his ex so he probably doesn’t need Jinyoung anymore… There won’t be no reason to go for Jaebum for any help now.
He came in his apartment room and immediately for his bedroom, shutting the door behind him. He slide down and clenched his fists, bringing his knees to his chest.
“Jinyoung!” The door pounded and Jinyoung lifted his head up.
Jaebum…
“Go away…” Jinyoung muttered.
“Jinyoung, I can explain!”
The door swished open and they stood face to face.
“Jinyoung…” Jaebum said as Jinyoung averted his gaze to the ground.
“If it’s an excuse, don’t talk to me.” Jinyoung told Jaebum, his voice wavering. He tried to shut his bedroom door but Jaebum blocked it.
“Jinyoung, listen!” Jaebum said and yanked the door open. “Youngjae won’t let me go no matter how many times I tell him to stop!”
“I don’t want to hear it.” Jinyoung tried to pull the door close but Jaebum held onto it tightly.
“You have to understand.” Jaebum’s eyes begged and softened, looking into Jinyoung’s eyes. Jinyoung looked away, tired of the words coming out of Jaebum’s mouth. He didn’t understand. Why couldn’t Jaebum push Youngjae away then? Why didn’t Jaebum cut off contact from Youngjae? Tears started to rise into Jinyoung’s eyes again until suddenly, Jaebum hugged him. The smell of Jaebum hit Jinyoung and the surprise of the hug made him couldn’t take it anymore.
“Why…?” Jinyoung sobbed into Jaebum’s shoulder. “Why do you do this? I can’t help myself but fall for you. I know what’ll come next if I were to do that. I would care all about you and forget about Iseul. Iseul is the only family I have left and you just keep...doing this to me.”
“I’m...I’m so sorry…” Jaebum said quietly and held Jinyoung tightly. “But maybe you just have to let go. I'm not one of those people in your past. I'm not going to backstab you or do anything to hurt you.”
These words coming from Jaebum soften Jinyoung’s heart and he couldn't help but raise his arms to hug back. The comfort of Jaebum was so reassuring and safe that the tears Jinyoung cried made him feel drowsy.
“I actually love you.” Jinyoung thought he heard those words come from Jaebum’s mouth.
Jinyoung woke up, his face feeling like dried clay. He looked around at his surroundings and realized that he wasn’t in his room. Next to him slept Jaebum, peacefully breathing in and out. Jinyoung chuckled a bit at Jaebum’s sleeping face. He sat up, adoring the person in front of him.
So cute.
Jinyoung couldn’t help but stare at him. The structure of his face and even sleeping right next to him made him blush slightly.
“Good morning.” Jaebum mumbled, startling Jinyoung.
“Gosh, you scared me!” Jinyoung held his hand against his chest. Jaebum rubbed his eyes and smiled, making Jinyoung’s heart skip a beat. From across the room, Iseul’s small figured stirred on the smaller bed.
“I should probably make break-” Jinyoung sat up from the bed when he was pulled back down.
“No, sleep more with me.” Jaebum mumbled and pulled Jinyoung closer. Jinyoung felt Jaebum’s muscular arms around him and felt his face blush crazily. Sleeping with Jaebum was so tempting but no, Isuel was always top priority for Jinyoung.
“I can’t.” Jinyoung looked at Jaebum. “Iseul’s gonna wake up hungry and he’s gonna start crying if he doesn’t get his food.”
“Ugh.” Jaebum groaned but let go of Jinyoung. Jinyoung also didn’t want to leave Jaebum but everyone would be hungry so it’d be best if he cooked early than late.
Jinyoung slowly left the room and wandered into the hall. The bathroom was on his left, the living room up front by the entrance and the kitchen by the right. Jinyoung scratched his back and yawned. He ruffled his hair and sighed. Instead of worrying about Jaebum, he should be thinking of what should be for breakfast. Maybe kimchi stew, stir-fried bulgogi, and a couple side-dishes would work. After getting the ingredients out, Jinyoung prepared to cook breakfast.
Minutes passed as the sound of cooking and the smell of food wafted into the air making Jaebum come in.
“What are you cooking?” Jaebum asked, leaning onto the counter to see what Jinyoung was stir-frying.
“Just a special recipe of mine.” Jinyoung answered and out of the corner of his eye, he saw Iseul running towards him into his legs.
“Hey Iseul! I told you not to do that when I'm cooking! I could accidently drop the burning pan on you!”
“I'm sorry, brother. It's just that I wanted to share with you what I found!” Iseul pulled out a few of what Jinyoung thought were big water balloons when Iseul bit on one.
“It's even flavored!” Iseul handed one to Jinyoung and Jinyoung r
