Jinyoung’s POV

I’ve been starring at my computer probably for an hour now. I don’t know how to start my whole report especially that my head hurts since I spent my whole weekend with Momo and JB.

JB lied when he said about the dinner last Saturday because when I arrived at his place, no one was there except for me, Momo and JB. If I know, he just wanted to spend some time with Momo. The guy’s way too obvious.

All we did was eat, watch movies and drink soju. We did the same thing yesterday with Youngjae joining us.

I sighed after seeing the blank page in my computer. I’ve been tyring to come up with ideas but I’m failing.

I looked at Momo to ask for some help but she was on the phone and looked like arguing with someone. I need not to guess who was calling.

I just shook my head and proceeded to continue my work. I loooovveee Mondays. Tsk.

Department C, please proceed to the Conference Room.

I looked at my planner to see if we have a meeting but apparently, nothing was written so instead, I looked at Momo to check whether she’s aware of the meeting but she was already in front of me.

“ Park Jinyoung, did we do something wrong? “ She asked.

I just shrugged since I honestly didn’t know what to respond. As far as I know, we were able to finish all of last week’s report. I went to look at Mark’s desk but he was already on his way to the Conference Room. Tsk, this guy.

As we entered the room, almost everyone in our department is already inside. The Head asked us to sit down and later on started the meeting.

In times like these, I couldn’t help but feel nervous. Most of the things here in the company is basically still pretty new to me.

The Head started talking about the performance of our Department and fortunately, a lot were positive.

I was taking down notes during the meeting, I need to show them that I’m serious about my job.

While the speaker was changing slides, I had the chance to look at Mark.

My stomach suddenly had this weird feeling. For Pete’s sake, do I always have to feel this whenever I see him?

He was intently listening to the report and I could notice how his face became thinner from how it usually was. His face seem to look mature as well.

He’s definitely a different person now.

“ So as we all know, the year is about to end and the work from now on will be doubled. Our goal is to finish our work with quality. I know that there are lots of things to do and it will be really difficult to finish things on your own, hence, I’m allowing you to work with a partner. Me and the other members of Department have set who will be working with each other. We made sure that each other’s strength will go well with the other’s. The list will be posted right after this meeting so please take a look. We hope to end this year well so let’s work hard and good luck to everyone .” Mr. Choi announced and then finally left the room.

Some of the people rushed outside to see the list but I chose to stay for a while. I’m scared about this whole idea. I barely know everyone here and I’m afraid I won’t be able to work well with my partner.

I lost my train of thought when Momo grabbed me. “ What are you waiting for, Jinyoung? Let’s look at the list.”

We waited until everyone finished to see the list. So far, a lot were pleased with their assigned partners. I wonder who’ll be mine.

We were about to look at the list when Mark appeared out of nowhere.

“ You scared me, Mark!” Momo told him.

Thank you for saying it on my behalf.

Only four people left to see the list. Me, Momo, Mark and Jungyeon.

I smiled at Jungyeon and told her to check the list first. I took the time to look at Mark who was having a blank face. As usual.

“ I’m glad it’s you Momo!” Jungyeon beamed but Momo was just nodding with a half smile.

“ I thought it was going to be you” Momo whispered to me.

I chuckled at her response but wait. What?

Does it mean?

I went to look at the list to confirm that my partner will be him.

Is this for real?

“ Well, I guess we’er partners then, Mr. Park “ Mark said with a look I coulnd’t register.

Is he happy or sad about it because I want to know.

“ Y-yeah. Let’s wo-work hard.” I stammered.

I mentally facepalmed at my response.

He gave me a quick smile and returned to his table and with that, Momo and I returned to ours as well.

I couldn’t believe it. I couldn’t help but somehow feel happy about it.

I think this would be a great way for us to be friends again or to at least talk with each other. Little did I know, I was already smiling.

Stupid Jinyoung.
