Chapter 5

Dilemmas In Our Destiny

Thank you to i am timmyread for subscribing to my story, this shout out is due to the fact that I could not find a wall on his page. I would also like to thank the rest of my subscribers for their support. Sorry this chapter is short, I have finals this week.

Sunggyu covered the magazine of bouquets, burying it deep within the song lyrics he was supposed to be memorizing. He knew how perfect things needed to be for Howon to like them. The details had to be on point, the decorations perfect, and his appearance immaculate. What kind of flowers should I get,\? Nothing seems appealing enough; I am so screwed, he flipped a page in the magazine. Eyes darting up to his surroundings to make sure no one caught the colored page, the trepidation in his eyes much like that of a teenager with on his laptop.

I need to get him the perfect one, why is life so hard? Why is he so picky? Sunggyu continued to worry. That is when his eyes landed on the bouquet that was so small it was as if the magazine were trying to hide it from him, as if it wanted him to stress out even more. It was beautiful, its star shaped petals were white, with a star shaped center that was a creamish yellow accented with red. His small eyes, widened at the way it was arranged, the lush green leaves and small purple flowers woven into the bouquet as if to make the flower known as hoya pop out. Maybe I will be able to live past the age of 26, he thought to himself joyfully.

“Woohyun, what do I do?” Woohyun couldn’t help but worry for Dongwoo after hearing his story. “Why did I get into this mess? What could I have done to deserve such a fate?” It broke Woohyun’s heart to hear his friend sobbing on the other side of the line.

“I told you not to take Kim Myungsoo’s case, he has always disturbed me. It’s like I should know somethin when I am with him but I don’t. This whole case has bothered me from the start and now look at what it got you into,” Woohyun gently reprimanded only to be rewarded with a broken apology from the other side. That broke Woohyun even more, Dongwoo never cried and to hear him sobbing hurt Woohyun so bad. It made Woohyun want to take Dongwoo into his arms and not let go until the older stopped crying. “Hey, shh, I know how things seem right now, it’s okay. I shouldn’t have scolded you, I’m sorry alright. I will always be here, so don’t worry about things alright? Just play along with Sungjong a little until I find a way to get rid of the blackmail material, alright?”

“W-what i-if...H-ho-o-wo-o-on,” Woohyun was quick to reassure Dongwoo.

“It is okay, shh, I will make sure Howon never finds out. You have me for now, and we will both get out of this alone and well,” Woohyun cooed softly into the phone. “I can transfer to Yongin if you would like?” Woohyun knew that was easier said than done, and Dongwoo was no idiot to not know that.

“I can’t ask you to do that,” Dongwoo’s voice cracked horribly, making Woohyun wince.

“I will be there tomorrow so tell me where to meet you, send me your address,” he tried again, trying to stop his thought from turning into a jumbled mess at the gratefulness in Dongwoo’s tone.

“I can’t ask you for that,” Dongwoo stupidly repeated, just like a child. Woohyun wondered just what kind of a person Sungjong must be, to want to see someone as kind as Dongwoo broken, what could have happened in Sungjong’s past. As if that thought were forbidden, a large spike of pain washed over his body, originating in his troubled mind.

“I will come Dongwoo, so you either can tell me where you live or I can spend as much time as it takes looking for you. Those are the options you have?” Woohyun’s voice was gentle but firm, and he could hear Dongwoo let out a slight whimper as his helplessness in this situation hit him hard.

“Sunggyu,” it was obvious the older had calmed down, as Woohyun no longer heard sobs but his voice still quivered.

“He barely is around, he won’t miss me at all,” Woohyun murmured a little, guilt settling at the bottom of his stomach. “When he is there I am gone, so it makes no difference whether I am physically here or not.”

Dongwoo couldn’t help but pity his younger at that statement. It wasn’t as if he and Howon were going strong at the moment, but he felt like the other was to young for this. He felt like Woohyun deserved to be doted upon constantly for the amount he supported the people he knew.

“Thank you,” Dongwoo murmured, trying to keep himself from sounding tired. He thought he was doing very well until he heard Woohyun chuckle softly.

“Go to sleep, and send me your address tomorrow so I can move in with you,” Woohyun’s voice was soft and soothing, making Dongwoo’s eyelids droopier.

“Okay,” he replied, his mind to weary to do anything but fall under the hypnosis that Woohyun’s voice seemed to cast upon him.

“Hey,” Jonghyun, offered a smile only to receive an impartial look from a short, raven haired male and one of confusion from the extremely tall man with innocent eyes.

“You not Hyun,” the tall male said, trying to make sense of the situation which he could not seem to comprehend. He turned to the sharp jawed boy next to him, “Soo, Sungyeol want Hyun.”

“He was transferred Sungyeol, for a few months at the least. He suggested that we have Jonghyun take over for him,” Myungsoo murmured, his gaze softening. He reached out and ruffled Sungyeol’s hair affectionately, his hand wiping away the tears that were glistening at the edge of the Sungyeol’s eyes.

“Hyun left Sungyeol,” and with that Sungyeol broke down completely. The sobs only muffled when Myungsoo pulled Sungyeol into a hug, his hair comfortingly.

“Why, Sungyeol was good Soo, Sungyeol promise. Why did Hyun leave,” Myungsoo only murmured soothing words into Sungyeol’s ear. When the Sungyeol’s cries gave to whimpers which then gave way to small snores, Myungsoo shot a glare at Jonghyun.

“You make an amazing intro,” Myungsoo made it clear that he disliked Jonghyun in that one sentence, which definitely annoyed the doctor.

“This wasn’t my choice either,” Jonghyun snapped back only to see Myungsoo get up, bristling. The sudden movement waking Sungyeol up, and giving him just enough time to gain balance and not slam into the floor when the chest that was supporting him disappeared. The slapping of wood against wood was heard after that, and Jonghyun found himself staring at the door the color of mahogany. Jonghyun was a man with a short fuse, unlike most psychiatrists and took no time to ponder upon the consequences of storming away. He hadn’t read the files Woohyun had sent him, he didn’t know that he had left an angry, emotionally unstable Myungsoo with a now defenseless Sungyeol. The door was to thick for his to hear the pained scream that occurred just as he opened his car door to drive away. To drive away without glancing back at the house even once.
