“I’ve told you that everything was going to go well!” Jiyoung pumped his fist excitedly after Seunghyun had finished his speech on his dating the previous night. Seunghyun rolled his eyes as he knew that he shouldn’t have told his partner the whole story but Jiyoung insisted to know.

“Wait, you guys kissed? How was it? What did she say? What did you say?” Jiyoung tried to dig in. Seunghyun really regretted telling Jiyoung all the story. He should have known better to just skip that kissing part.

“It’s just a simple kiss!” Seunghyun said.

“But that was your first kiss! Tell me how you felt!!” Jiyoung was still excited.

“Happy of course.” Seunghyun replied shortly.

“Duh, that’s common. I mean, what do you feel? Like, it was sweet, or she tasted like a cherry, or anything! And who kiss first?” Jiyoung asked impatiently.

“I’ve told you, none of us saw that coming! I meant, we didn’t even plan for it. It just suddenly happened! What I knew the next was our lips had been pressed against each other’s. That’s it. Nothing more, nothing less. By the way, she tastes really sweet, but it maybe because of the ice cream we ate earlier. I feel nervous of course, that’s my ing first kiss! But I am the man, so of course I will have to dominate her. She pulled out when I deepened the kiss. I was afraid that I was a bad kisser but she said that she just didn’t want everything to happen too fast. I guess I got her point, I mean, we just know each other for roughly a week!” The next thing Seunghyun realized was he just blurted out everything, and he just realized that he could talk that long emotionally. Jiyoung was stunned there and he was so damn speechless. He had to pinch his own cheek to assure him that the man who was just speaking to him a few second ago was really Seunghyun.

“Well then, call her now!” Jiyoung replied when he had gotten back to reality. Seunghyun gave him an ‘Are-you-kidding’ look.

“She said that right?” Jiyoung asked and Seunghyun shook his head as he fixed Jiyoung's sentence, “No. She said ‘text me later’.”

“Have you told her to show up with you this Saturday? Remember, chief clearly wants you to introduce Aerin to him.” Jiyoung reminded Seunghyun about their boss’ will. Seunghyun nodded his head as he rubbed his temple, “Remind me how to ask her again.”

“Just the way you are, man! Jesus Christ! You are natural, okay? Just let your seductive side win and you’ll be just fine!” Jiyoung said.

“I know, I know! But I think I will give her an impression of a playboy if I always seduce her!” Seunghyun said back.

“Let it be. Act naturally, be yourself. If she happens to love you, then you’ll be proud of yourself because by the time she loves you, she will have known you and loved you entirely. If you are being fake, she will just love the fake you. You do not want the latter to happen, do you?” Jiyoung said wisely. Most of the time, Seunghyun was the wise man, he would always be the one who gave his partner advices. However, when it came to love, something that he just realized how clueless he was, Jiyoung was the wise man.

Seunghyun heaved a sigh as he nodded. He found himself was about to text her, but he really wanted to hear her voice. So instead of texting her, he pressed the call button and Jiyoung was smiling upon knowing his friend deed. Even though it seemed that Jiyoung was busy with his papers, Seunghyun knew that Jiyoung would eavesdrop his conversation with Aerin. He didn’t mind though.

“Hey Aerin.” Seunghyun greeted her the moment she picked up the line.

“Oh hey Seunghyun!” She looked surprise.

“Am I bothering you?” He asked as he noticed her surprise tone.

“No, not at all. I just don’t expect you to call me this fast.” She let out a small laugh.

“What? Do you think I will call you next week?” Seunghyun joked but he knew that Aerin was going to say yes.

“Yeah, but I guess I am wrong. Well, how are you by the way?” Aerin spoke.

“Couldn’t be better! Oops, can be better actually.” Seunghyun replied.

“If?” Aerin hung her words to let Seunghyun finished it, “If you are willing to be my date in my boss’ party this weekend.”

Aerin laughed wholeheartedly and she said, “Alright then. Do you always ask a girl out this way?”

“You are my first, so tell me, how did I do?” Seunghyun chuckled.

“Oh really? Well, for a beginner, you did it very well! Who taught you? Your friend? What was his name again? Errr…. Kwon…Kwon…”Aerin tried hard to recall the name but it didn’t come out.

“Kwon Jiyoung.” Seunghyun chuckled again. He could feel Jiyoung’s stare on the mention of his name and he mouthed, “You guys are talking about me?” Seunghyun shook his head instantly and then continued speaking with Aerin, “You are only 23 and your memory is laredy like a grandma?” He spoke in an unbelievable manner.

“You guessed it wrong, I am 23.” Aerin chuckled on the other line.

“Oh no, I think my luck is thinning. I used to guess people’s age correctly.” Seunghyun pouted even though he knew that Aerin couldn’t see it.

“Well –Maybe because I look younger.” She stated playfully, “I guess that you are 28, am I correct?”

“Woah! Do I look that old?” Seunghyun pretended to get hurt as he continued, “I am only 26.”

“Silly you, I am just teasing you. Of course I know your age, the candles were so big at that time.” Aerin laughed out.

Seunghyun furrowed his brows in confusion, “What candles?”

“The one in your birthday cake at your birthday party!” She said and they both laughed together.

“Oh yeah, how could I forget?” Seunghyun poked his own forehead.

As their laughs died down, Seunghyun spoke, “Don’t forget to wear something nice although I believe you already look nice and will look nice in any outfit.”

“You are teasing me.” Somehow Seunghyun knew she was blushing.

“I’m not, I’m being honest her. It’s a formal party by the way, so I think you will have to wear a long dress.” Seunghyun smiled.

“Oh okay… See you this weekend then. Wait –Does it mean you will have to wear a tuxedo?” Aerin laughed.

“Oh yes, you must see me in tuxedo, I look handsome in it.” Seunghyun said cockily.

“Let’s just see.” Aerin laughed.

“Well then, have a nice day!” Seunghyun said and Aerin said the same before she hung up the call.

“You know what? You make me really miss my ex now! Damn it! Oh wait, I haven’t asked Ara yet! Damn! Got to go now! I have to ask her first before cho Kyuhyun! You do know that he is my competitor, right?” Jiyoung spoke fast and Seunghyun nodded, “Good luck!” He wished his partner before Jiyoung went out. He really was impatient waiting for the weekend.

Weekend seemed to come faster than what Choi Seunghyun had expected. It was finally the day where the farewell party was held. Seunghyun fixed his tie as he gave one last glance to the mirror. If he had to be honest to himself, he would think that he looked better in tuxedo.

Seunghyun giggled when he looked at Jiyoung who was standing next to him. Jiyoung still looked dissatisfied with his look. He heaved a sigh as he once again combed his hair back.

“What’s with the sigh?” Seunghyun chuckled. Jiyoung looked at him with an annoyed expression as he answered, “I hate it when my hair is being such a teaser.” He carefully put on more jell on his hair and combed it.

“Well, now you know the anxiety that I felt before.” Seunghyun laughed.

“I’m not anxious! I’m sure I look handsome but I can look even more handsome if just my hair obeys me.” Jiyoung said with full of confident. He smiled in satisfaction once he saw his hair looked just like he wished to.

“I’m going first. I need to pick her up at 7 and I do not want to be late.” Seunghyun said as he went to his car and drove away to Aerin’s place. He smiled when he saw a bouquet of flower that he had bought earlier this afternoon. He didn’t know exactly what Aerin’s favorite flower was, so he decided to buy the most common flower –Rose. He checked his watch and grinned widely as he made it on time. He hid the bouquet behind his back and knocked the door. Aerin walked out elegantly and Seunghyun couldn’t help but to stare at her in awe. She looked extremely pretty in her sky blue dress. Her hair was curled and she wore high heel. However, as usual, it was her smile that bewitched him.

“Hello to earth Choi Seunghyun.” Aerin shook him lightly and he instantly snapped back to reality.

“Sorry. I’m on earth all the time but it seems that you really bewitch me and make me just lost my mind.” Seunghyun said with a smile.

“Too honest I must say.” Aerin commented. “Wait –If I do not know better I’ll be like the girl in the movies that get surprised when the guy gives her a bouquet of flower that he has hid all the time behind his back.” Aerin smirked.

“Well, too bad for me then.” Seunghyun pouted lightly but he smiled again in a second as he gave her the bouquet. “Even though you’re not surprised, can I see your surprise face?”

“I think I can be a good actress for a moment.” Aerin smiled cheekily and changed her expression in almost a glimpse, “Oh God! Thank you so much! I love you…”

Seunghyun couldn’t help but to laugh out hard as he spoke, “You are really a bad actress. First, that is so not you. Second, surprised people usually are speechless and don’t speak with that tone. It’s more like when you won a lottery!” Aerin then laughed wholeheartedly.

“Don’t blame me for being such a bad actress. It’s been a long time since I joined a theatre club.” She chuckled as Seunghyun opened the car’s door and let Aerin went inside it. He then joined her a moment later and got too excited when closing the door, causing a loud thud and earned Aerin’s laugh.

“Where are we heading to?” Aerin asked.

“Hmmm… A farewell party.” Seunghyun answered and stepped on the gas. Along the way, they were having a fun conversation. Sometimes Aerin would tell him jokes and they both would fall into laughers. Seunghyun didn’t realize he was laughing almost all the time but he knew that he was so happy. He couldn’t recall the last time he felt this free to talk to someone and to laugh and to show everything about himself. Aerin on the other hand was really a mood booster. Soon, they reached the place which happened to be his boss’ mansion.

Seunghyun still acted as a gentleman and they both walked inside hand in hand. Some people stared at Seunghyun with questions written all over their faces. Of course, it was Choi Seunghyun coming with a beautiful girl and he looked extremely happy and fine with it.

Seunghyun waved his hand when he spotted Jiyoung and his party partner for the night –Lee Ara.

“Hello Aerin. Still remember me?” Jiyoung grinned widely as he shook her hand.

“Of course, Kwon Jiyoung, right?” Aerin smiled to him and to the lady beside him even though she hadn’t known her name yet.

“You have a good memory.” Jiyoung commented.

“Not really. I forgot before, but Seunghyun reminded me.” Aerin said honestly and Jiyoung broke into laugh.

“Well, you are really honest.” Jiyoung commented and introduced Aerin to Ara, “Ara meets Aerin, Aerin meets Ara.”

The two ladies shook their hands together.

“Hwang Aerin.” Aerin said.

“Lee Ara.” Ara said.

“Let’s sit on that table.” Jiyoung said as he pointed the table across the room. All of them nodded and went approaching the table.

They had a few chit chats, mostly talking about how they met and their interests. Sometimes they let out some giggles escaped their mouths. When the tables have been filled with all the guests invited, the lights were all turned off and Mr. Oh came out with the spotlight on him. “Good night, ladies and gentlemen! We are all here gathering tonight to celebrate my last day working in this beautiful community. I’m going to miss all of you, the hardships, the challenges, in brief, everything I have been through. But unfortunately, my time has come to this. Reaching this old age, it’s time when life takes away one by one what it once gave me. Let’s enjoy this last moment together!” Mr. Oh began the party with such speech and everybody stood up and gave me standing applause.

“That’s your boss?” Aerin nudged Seunghyun lightly.

Seunghyun turned to face her and nodded slightly, “Yes.”

“He is cool.” She muttered.

“Yes, he is.” Seunghyun smiled as memories started to flood his mind. Oh how he would miss this old man that was leaving him after the night was over. He remembered the time when he first was recruited, the old man didn’t change much. He was as welcoming as now, but before, he was one healthy old man. He would miss the way the old man calmed him down and chilled him when he was at the edge of fury. He was not just his boss, he was also like his father. Seunghyun had lost a father figure since he was still so young, and though Mr. Oh couldn’t possibly give him the exact role of a father, he at least acted like one. He hated it when he was being sentimental, yet he really couldn’t help it.

“Hey, you are reminiscing your moments with him, right?” Aerin suddenly tugged his left sleeve.

“Yeah, I am. He is one of a kind and I probably will never meet that kind of man again.” Seunghyun said.

“Well, at least you know where to find him.” Aerin smiled in attempt to comfort him. Seunghyun heaved a sigh as he slowly smiled to her.

“Let’s grab the food.” Seunghyun stood up and Aerin smiled lightly. As they were grabbing some food, Mr. Oh came approaching them.

“Hello Sir.” Seunghyun greeted the older man. The man rubbed his moustache as he smiled and greeted him back, “Hello, Seunghyun.” He gave Seunghyun a signal with a questioning look and glanced at the pretty lady beside him. Seunghyun immediately got what he meant as he smiled and introduced both of them, “In this opportunity, I would like to introduce you to my crush, Aerin Aerin, meet my mighty boss, Sir. Oh.”

Aerin blushed as she nudged Seunghyun lightly, and Mr. Oh chuckled as they both shook hands, “Hwang Aerin.”

“What a pretty name. By the way, Seunghyun, I never knew that you could be that frank.” Mr. Oh commented and Seunghyun just chuckled a little. “Well, Sir, it’s the lady beside me that is responsible for that.” Seunghyun lightly said and earned another nudge from Aerin who sent him a glare but blushed anyways.

“Well, Miss. If you don’t mind, may I have some time with Seunghyun?” Mr. Oh requested politely.

“Anything you need, Sir.” She smiled and gave them some space.

“What do you want to tell me, Sir?” Seunghyun asked.

“The question is what you have to tell me. Come on, I never know that you can have a crush on someone. Who is she? How you guys met? Tell me everything.” Mr. Oh urged him. Seunghyun rubbed the back of his head although it wasn’t itchy at all as he turned awkward.

“Oh come on young man. You know that you can trust me and tell me everything, right?” Mr. Oh still persuaded. Seunghyun knew that. He was just not comfortable with the topic because apparently, this was the first time he would ever have that kind of talk with him.

“She is a psychologist, Sir, graduated from Princeton University. We met at my birthday party at Sunflower Club. That time, she wasn’t permitted to come inside the club by the guard that Jiyoung had hired. I didn’t know why but I let her come inside anyways, and that moment, I felt a little bit attracted to her. What is so special in her is that the fact that she can relate to me really well. It’s like she can read my mind, Sir. We just met for like fifteen minutes and she could tell me what kind of person I am. She is really one of a kind girl, Sir and when I am with her, I can’t help but to blurt out everything honestly.” Seunghyun told the old man.

“Does she know what your job is?” Mr. Oh knew that it was probably the only problem that could prevent the two lovebirds in having a serious relationship, therefore, he asked it in a low tone.

Seunghyun shook his head but sure, anxiety was written all over his face as he spoke, “That’s my only worry, Sir. I can’t lie to her.”

“Then don’t lie to her. Life is short, Seunghyun. I’m telling you this as a man to man. Life is short, and it is selfish. Don’t waste it, you probably won’t find a girl like her. Risk it if you have to. You may said that you don’t believe in love, but I know that you do now. I know that you can feel it with her. Love probably won’t come visiting you twice, so be wise, and don’t let the chance slip.” Mr. Oh lectured him and Seunghyun really didn’t mind being preached. He was actually quite thankful that he shared his problem with his soon to be ex – boss.

“So, you’re telling me that it’s okay if I tell her that I’m working here? To tell her who I really am, is it really okay?” Seunghyun asked.

“Yes, because only by that, you’ll know if she loves you for who you are.” He said and gave a wink. Seunghyun smiled as the old man whispered, “Now, don’t make your girl waiting. It’s not polite to make a pretty lady wait for you, you know that, don’t you?”

“Yes, Sir. Thank you. I think I will also miss you, Sir.” Seunghyun said.

“Well, you know where to find me, boy.” Mr. Oh patted him lightly. Seunghyun excused himself as he went back to his seat –Next to Aerin.

The night went quite quickly as one by one of the guests started to drift to their own homes. Aerin glanced at the watch and said, “I think I have to reach home now.” It was nearly 12.A.M.

“Okay.” Seunghyun said and told Jiyoung that he was leaving. Jiyoung then also stood up and told Ara they were leaving. The four of them approached Mr. Oh for the last time, exchanging hugs and finally bidding a goodbye.

When they were out, Seunghyun suddenly got a great plan in his brain as he nudged Jiyoung and pleaded him to leave his car and went home by taxi instead. Being a good friend he is, he then told Ara Seunghyun’s plan and Ara agreed almost instantly. The couple took the taxi and bid them goodbye.

“Why are they taking a taxi? Didn’t your friend drive a car here?” Aerin asked in confusion.

“Oh yes, he did. Do you know one thing I really like about him?” Seunghun smirked as he saw Aerin was getting curious. Aerin shook her head and furrowed her brows and that made her looked cuter.

“He always puts my importance up to his.” Seunghyun said and Aerin nodded her head and smiled, “You’ve got a really true friend here. Don’t waste him, you’ve got to take care each other.”

“That’s very certain. Let’s go.” Seunghyun said and Aerin gladly took his hand and they walked together to where Seunghyun had parked his car.

“Wait, I thought your car machine doesn’t function well.” Aerin asked again as she saw Seunghyu unlocked his car.

“I am pretty sure I didn’t say that.” Seunghyun said and Aerin’s eyes grew bigger, “Oh God! Then, why did your friend take the taxi instead of driving his own car?”

“Well, that’s because I borrow it tonight.” Seunghyun smirked and Aerin was still clueless. She really was confused on what Seunghyun was thinking. She didn’t really find a relation between all of them. Seunghyun just said that he borrowed Jiyoungs’ car but he unlocked his car. What would he do that then?

“I see you are being puzzled here.” Seunghyun smirked as he noticed Aerin. Aerin just nodded her head but her stare on him was clearly demanding an answer.

“It’s because you will drive my car and I’ll drive his. Remember our bet, Aerin? We haven’t really competed. I see that tonight is another beautiful night, so, I think it’s the perfect time to begin a beautiful relationship with you. Do you take by challenge now?” Seunghyun grinned as Aerin gasped in surprised.

“Why are you so sure that you’re going to win?” Aerin laughed but nodded anyways.

“I don’t know, I just believe that God will help me to claim you as my lover instead of my crush.” Seunghyun answered frankly and Aerin couldn’t help but to laugh. “You should know one thing I really like about you, you are really honest.”

“Thanks.” Seunghyun smiled grew bigger as he let Aerin went to the driver seat. He closed the door before he started Jiyoung’s car engine that was parked exactly beside his. Some called it a coincidence, but he called it fate.

Both of them lowered the cars’ window and Aerin said cheerfully, “Let’s do this.” With that, she stepped on the gas first, and Seunghyun immediately did the same. One thing that he knew well about Seoul was that there weren’t a lot of cars in the late night. He looked at the speedometer and he was really impatient as he stepped on it even harder. He had to admit that Aerin did have a good driving skill but he smirked as he saw her getting slower. She probably didn’t dare to go faster than 170km/hour. Seunghyun smirked in victory as he ruled the car to go for over 180 km/hour. He grinned widely when the car passed Aerin and right in front of him was Aerin’s house. With a really great skill, He drifted the car to the side, so he was now facing Aerin that just reached her home.

Both of them got down from the car and went approaching each other. Seunghyun clapped his hands loudly as he spoke, “Not bad for a pretty lady like you, not bad.”

“Thanks.” Aerin smiled and both of that fell silent. Seunghyun knew that it was supposed to be his moment, but he hadn’t told her one thing that he should have told her.

“Aerin, before I claim my prize, I want to reveal one more truth about me.” Seunghyun took a deep breath. Aerin held his hand and squished it lightly as she knew that he was probably going to tell her his deepest secret.

“You might think that I’m working in a company and my boss is the CEO of the company or at least similar like that. The truth is, it is not a company.” He paused a little and turned to Aerin. She didn’t seem to be mad or disappointed, but her eyes patiently waited for him to explain further. “I’m a secret agent and my boss was the chief which by now should have been replaced by Jiyoung.” Seunghyun uttered. He noticed a sudden change expression on her face, but she changed again very quickly as she wore her conforting smile, “That’s okay.”

“So, you’re okay dating with a secret agent? I probably will be very busy since I was just being promoted and I am currently still trying to adjust myself with the new job. I will probably won’t have much time for us. I might have some enemies that probably can do anything in attempt to kill me and those things in movies like they kidnap the girl could be real. There are going to be a lot of hardships in our relationship, but if you are willing to go passing them with me, I’ll be forever grateful and I promise you that I’ll treasure you more than anything, including my own life.” Seunghyun said. Aerin fell silent for a moment and Seunghyun knew that she was thinking hard. He would understand if Aerin rejected him because the relationship could really put her in danger and he was aware of that. However, if she really would like to be in a relationship with him, he swore that he would not let anybody touched her. He had committed to keep her safe no matter what it cost.

“I guess, dating a secret agent is cool, isn’t it?” Aerin asked suddenly and Seunghyun got confused on her sudden question. She smiled at his expression as she said, “I always hold my promise. Some people might say that promises are meant to be broken, but I believe that they are meant to be kept.” Aerin smiled and Seugnhyun felt really happy.

“You keep your promise, I’ll keep mine. Another thing I like about you, you never lie.” He smiled as he brought himself closer to her. Aerin smiled, but strangely there was something different with her smile. Seunghyun noticed it but he shrugged that off since he was really at the sky that time.

“I should have brought you flower.” Seunghyun giggled and Aerin laughed.

“So, how should we end this day?” Aerin asked as she looked at her watch that was precisely one minute away from 12.A.M.

“Like how a date is supposed to end of course.” Seunghyun said as he leaned closer to her and kissed her lips. Aerin instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck and pulling him closer. They shared a quite long kiss before both started to gasp for air. Aerin leaned to his side and whispered through his ear, “I love how the day ends and how today starts.” He instantly checked his watch: 00.01.

“Thank you, Aerin.” Seunghyun hugged her and she hugged him back before she parted and said, “Thank you too Seunghyun.”

“By the way, Jiyoung would probably go picking up his car tomorrow.” He reminded her and she nodded while showing her pretty smile, “Sure.”

“Have a nice dream!” He said as he waved to her.

“I bet I will.” She chuckled before she disappeared from his sight. Seunghyun smiled along the way home and he felt extremely happy. He still couldn’t believe that he wasn’t a single anymore. He understood that having a relationship meant that he would have more responsibilities but he was sure that he could handle them. He made a mental note to thank Jiyoung later on.
